Carwin beat people period. Cardio or no cardio. His tactic that he used on all of his other wins , just didn't work on brock . Besides cardio isn't carwins style it never was. He used the same style as his previouse fights , apperently it ain't enough to be the best.

There is no such thing as luck. Watch the fight again. When Carwin first mounts Lesnar after pushing him down & starts throwing those bombs, watch Lesnar's arms, especially his right arm movement. He blocks a lot of those punches. Lesnar was never out of it. The ref has better judgment than the viewer, he's right in the mix. Any time the ref said, ''Brock you gotta move... You gotta do something," Brock did. He hit, grabbed, & pushed Carwin. The ref was right to have not stopped the fight.
Anyone who thinks Lesnar looked impressive in this fight needs to rewatch it..

Lesnar was getting smashed the entire first round. He showed heart by not giving up, but I think he's extremely lucky that Carwin has a limited gas tank.
People are letting their disdain for Lesnar completely blind them to the fact that he's an absolute beast in the infancy of his career. I've read like 50 quotes from these know-nothing "MMA fans" saying that Brock got "lucky" Shane punched himself out in the 1st round. That is the most absurd argument i've ever heard to discredit a fighters win. Stamina is as big a part of fighting as striking, wrestling, guard, submissions etc. and Shane was outclassed by the far superior athlete.
I must admit I was going for Shane in this fight but he lost and I was surprised by Brock's performance. Both men showcased their strengths and skills well and gave a good fight. Brock displayed pure toughness taking all of those power punches from Carwin and not tapping out or going unconscious and raw power as usual as well as evidence that he's been working on some jiujitsu training.

There is no such thing as luck. Watch the fight again. When Carwin first mounts Lesnar after pushing him down & starts throwing those bombs, watch Lesnar's arms, especially his right arm movement. He blocks a lot of those punches. Lesnar was never out of it. The ref has better judgment than the viewer, he's right in the mix. Any time the ref said, ''Brock you gotta move... You gotta do something," Brock did. He hit, grabbed, & pushed Carwin. The ref was right to have not stopped the fight.

I must admit I was going for Shane in this fight but he lost and I was surprised by Brock's performance. Both men showcased their strengths and skills well and gave a good fight. Brock displayed pure toughness taking all of those power punches from Carwin and not tapping out or going unconscious and raw power as usual as well as evidence that he's been working on some jiujitsu training.

@23bambam23 he gave brock all he had in the first round and it wasnt enough. Mad props to Lesnar on the composure to survive the first round. Thats what it takes to be the champ. Carwin is just a one round wonder. Survive the first round and hes done.

@zach4panthers And Frank Mir made Brock Lesnar tap out. Wtf is so lol worthy about that? Even though Brock won fair and square with a nice submission, he was out boxed and severely beaten in the first round. If it was not a championship fight, the ref would have called it in the first round. I'm not dissing Lesnar because he gained respect from me. Hhowever, if there is a rematch Carwin will pour his heart into improving his ground game and conditioning. A rematch would be very good.

@CombineEmpire I said lol because it was funny to me to see Lesnar pull a submission. So what If Carwin was doing good first round like you said he had crappy conditioning and paid for it. Also it does not matter if the ref would call the fight our not if it was not a championship fight. If you listen to the post fight interview Lesnar said he knew the ref would not call the fight as long as he was still defending and moving. It's more Carwin's fault because he did not finish him

@zach4panthers I know it was Carwin's fault but a lot of Lesnar fans act like he beat the shit out of Carwin when he didn't. Brock may be good, but there is always someone better, and Carwin definately has the potential to beat him in a rematch. To be honest I think Cain is going to lose and if he does, there will definately be a Lesnar v. Carwin II. It just pisses me off that people think Carwin sucks because he lost 1 fight. Pretty ironic that Shane and Brock's 1st losses were by submission :P

@zach4panthers there should not be a rematch. im tired of seeing fuckin rematches in the ufc all the damn time. the guys cant even enjoy there victory before they have to fight the same guy again. why dont they just let all the fan favorites get a second chance everytime they lose. thats stupid rematches should only come years later give it time to build intensity

I was assuming that if both fighters can stay on the pace they were on going into the fight then they will more than likely end up facing each other again because the heavyweight division in the UFC is weak. Dos Santos will get Lesnar next more than likely if he beats Roy Nelson and Carwin will face someone like Congo next

The WAY Carwin lost is ironic, for it was the least expected outcome of that situation, and that contrasted how people thought he would lose. The fact that Lesnar's 1st loss was also a submisssion, would be coincidence. I worded it wrong and couldn't edit my post.

@zach4panthers Right. Miragliotta told both fighters before the bout that if they got in trouble, they needed to show him something or he'd stop it. Lesnar was PLAINLY defending himself, that's why he didn't stop it.

@CombineEmpire whatever dude the only reason brock was out boxed was because all the time lesnar was almost dying in a hospital bed and then training to get back to where he was when he started carwin was training and getting stronger and better. not to mention carwin was still in the cage keeping his fighting sense alive. for lesnar to come into this match with that kind of disadvantage and still win in an unorthidox way makes him a future hall of famer

@CombineEmpire Brock was protecting himself pretty good when he was on the ground... I mean come on man his arms are huge nothing was hitting his face unless he opened up to try and get up... I only saw one nasty elbow and a couple of punches go thru when Carwin was on top
