@FinbarJC yes some will write back to you not acknowledging the letter i sent. some companies will stop sending letters straight away. its defo worth doing

sent letter as you have for proof of claim ,signed recorded delivery ....no reply.... re sent, checked royal mail, was signed, got letter saying cant answer questions i asked for, eg, person/natural person. then got a notice to owner, van taken!!! as we all register our transport to dvla a private corporation , therfore giving all ownership and right to them to take THEIR transport, name 1 case anyone ever got out of address, an

@daddieo1970 at the time of the "offence" where you driving or traveling? if you wa using your van for work purposes you are liable, if you was only going to the shops or picking up family members wot not you was not driving but traveling so the driving standards act does apply to you. Im sure they have to get a court order to take the vehicle in which the courts have to send you a letter telling you.

@daddieo1970 I sent a letter to the courts with the notices i sent the council and never heard anythng again. I asked the courts to prove they where a ligitimate court and that if so i had a right to a fare and just trial. never heard anything back. Hope eveything is ok mate. you can get the money back you paid the get your van back by signing for it under duress

this is great dan but watch out for the bit where you state that you or a freeman in the united kingdom cos the united kingdom is a corporation. unless i have picked you up wrong, but youthen go on to state that you are in england, hope you see my point mate but well done........

Daniel - would you recommend writing a notice of discharge rather than writing an A4V for the ticket? Is one method more reliable than the other?

@paltalker3000 You have to send both. the notice of understanding is required because you have to conditionally except their offer and offer something back. hope that helps you

Nice one Dan. I am currently going through this very situation. It's gone to "Northampton County Court" and I am getting regular letters pushed through the door at 7:00 am in the morning from "Philips" debt collectors threatening to return with a locksmith and take away my goods and or the vehicle...........joy : (
