@sharpshooter617 ive noticed most guys when in the ring throw the left hook palm facing them tyson frazier morrison all the great left hookers i think the palm facing you is the long left hook and the palm facing down is the short left hook but i have seen guy throw short ones with the palm facing them but i think its better to have the palm down with short left hooks because you get the twist and that makes it more dangerous

@sharpshooter617 I don't know man. I find that when I'm swinging wildly I hit palm facing me. My philosophy is that when it's a body shot the body is softer than the skull so you can throw with your palm facing you (more of an arm punch) whereas when you're going for the head it should be a short and fast strike and there's a smaller risk to break your hand when you throw with your palm facing the floor. So headshots like Roach shows, body shots somewhat in between a hook and an uppercut.

AND HES NOT SAYING HOOK THEM AND THEN HIT THEM WITH THE ELBOW - he is teaching the art of disguising the elbow with the hook which makes it legal as it cannot be contested. the trick is do it but dont make it obvious and get caught doin it. it gives a fighter an advantage and most short arm fighters do it

I got knocked out by the elbow follow thru. I wish i was not legal, but their thinking is that once the hook is thrown they can't stop your arm. You could get knocked out by a forearm as well.
