Saw Bauhaus loads of times with my lovely brother Andy, All the way back from 1980 through to their Resurrection tour ! Without doubt the greatest band I have ever seen live ! Bauhaus were so much a big part of my life growing up and still listen to this unique band till this day ! Peter Murphy, Kevin Haskins, David J and Daniel Ash, thank you for being in my life but most of all thank you just for being BAUHAUS !
dude i had a show on disc like this they were ripping it in 1982 shame that in 1983 they dissolved it was like the wariors of victory just ran off a cliff after a tiumphant victory of epic symbolism exquisite corpse was #3 and burning from the inside would have been number one but they did not tour for it and was only 30 on the chart would have been a number one record. love, william "the joker"
They Opened with this in the 80's,I saw them at Friars in Aylesbury, for the time that they played this song they transformed Aylesbury from being a Shit Pit into Wembley Stadium,They were superb.

I saw them a week after this show, they played 3 nights at The Roxy in LA/Hollywood (12/12-13-14/1982) and I went to all 3 shows.
One of the nights they opened with "Third Uncle" (sounded even better than this version) and it was like getting kicked in the gut. Incredible start to the gig, you really can't get the impact from a bootleg.
One of the greatest songs ever! Bauhaus' version is amazing! For those that don't know, this song (Third Uncle) was written and performed by Brian Eno ... this is a cover version of Eno's song. You should check out 'Third Uncle' by Brian Eno..... Both his and the Bauhaus version are amazing!
This song is so amazing! I remember listening to this on repeat while road tripping with some of my friends in college. Hearing it now makes my day :)
I saw BauHaus live in 1983. Amazing show - and I was front row, at the stage. One guy beside me pissed the bass player off by taking too many pics, so bass player (Haskins?) moves to front of stage - and WHAM! suddenly photographer gets kicked in camera and face by bassist's boot. 10 inches from my face. This was pre today's "I'll sue everybody" era. Amazing.
Great performers. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
But Haskins was only a sideshow to The Man himself. I remember Murphy kneeling down, looking into a stage-floor projector. Again - less than 3 feet from me. Blinding light - His pupils contracted so fast and so small, it looked as if he just has two completely blue eyes - no pupils at all.
What a show....
(But still - I prefer Eno's version of Third Uncle)
WHOOOO HOOOO!!!! Rock and roll. One easily forgets how much these guys fucking rock, given that they were kind of thrown into the 'art rock' slash 'goth' category - which is not inaccurate - but they just plain rock. In terms of attitude, edginess and intensity I'd put them in with Aerosmith or anyone else. Fantastic clip!!
