I dont know if someone already mentioned this ...i cant be bothered to read through all the comments but they cut a scene out where the doctor gives the half human doctor and rose part of the tardis so they can "grow thier own I think they should have left that bit in personally.
Whoa. Way too late commenting on this. But I love NIne/Rose so much more than Ten/Rose. I adore Ten/Rose, but the first season was so cute and fluffy.
I adore Jackie Tyler, and Rose has always been my favorite. K9 is amazing! I want to start watching Torchwood.
OK, I am so not a Donna fan, I just thought that she was always kind of holding the doctor down, you know? I really hope that she'll start to remember and come back later though, even though I don't like her, the ending was too sad for her.
Well, as for what the doctor who said with Rose could do... He could help the Earth in that universe, just like he did during his time with Unit as the third Doctor. Have you seen any of the episodes with the first seven doctors??
I liked Donna. She gave a nice contrast to the Doctor. And she was someone who really could benefit from his occasionally long-winded explanations since she's a little clueless at times. And you're right, completely heartbreaking what happened to her.
I'm watching the second airing on Sci-Fi right now. I watched it online weeks ago, but this is definitely one of the best episodes. And, again, yeah, loved seeing everyone helping to pilot the Tardis. BEST MOMENT EVER!!!
I really liked Donna, and I was sad to see her story arc end the way it did. Like the Doctor said, she was the most important person in the universe.
I enjoy Torchwood and I think it has a lot of potential. It's geared towards older audiences, meaning it has strong language and deals with sexuality on a number of occasions.
The Sarah Jane Adventures, on the other hand, is completely different. I've never seen it, but it aired on BBC One's children program block.
I can't imagine the new Doctor getting some regular job either, but I don't think they would do that to him. I mean, maybe they will allude to it somehow next season. or maybe not since the original Doctor isn't supposed to be able to ever return.. hmph.. idk, I just like to think he will do something important, maybe something like torchwood but not... anywho...
I just started watching Torchwood and am on ep 9 of the first series. I really like it so far, so yea, you should def check it out.
The hand doctor can see the possible future and pasts of an event, he is psychic, give him a time rift or even just a school for geniuses and he could work wonders.
Who knows what is in store for Donna now that Dalek Kahn isn't manipulating her.
Supposly Riversong was at the end of the universe with the doctor. Question is, where was she?
Yes, but can you see the Doctor (even if it is the 'other' Doctor) getting a steady job? It'd just be weird! Haha. I know he could do just about anything, but it's just strange to think of him in a daily profession.
I'm a NineRose shipper. :/ Also, apparently there was a part scripted where the Doctor gives 10.5 a piece of the TARDIS to grow, but it was cut. I had so many problems with the finale I can't really get into it. However, I did love Sarah Jane showing up, and having Tosh save Ianto and Gwen was just...amazing. I cried all over again. And oh man, Donna. T_T Good bye, my favorite companion.
Brilliant response!!!!!! I made one haha but it was sooo boring i din't edit it together. I'll leave it to the experts :D PENGUIN!!!!!!!!! in the background, sorry had to write that, haha i love penguins. Yeah i felt a bit cheated for Donna by the ending.. And i thought the bit where they show all the people who have died for the doctor was very moving because you don't realise really how many people have died along the way.
Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that part! I actually think I recorded my reaction to that part while watching it. I think I'm editing that video together today.
The great thing for me when I watched the episode was that I watched it with a guy who's first language was German. I knew exactly what the woman was saying and it made me feel rather special.
In a sense, the new doctor is like the Third Doctor. The Third Doctor was exiled on Earth in the 20th Century by the Time Lords and stripped of the knowledge on how to operate the TARDIS so that he would not escape. During his exile, He worked with UNIT as a scientific advisor. Maybe The new doctor will work with Rose at Torchwood as an expert.
Series Two Torchwood pwnd. And I'm disappointed that the stuttering guy from the library doesn't end up with Donna. Mickey calling Jack 'cheesecake' made that day awesome.
I can't see the Doctor settling down but then again its not really the same Doctor. He's starting all over again and has memories but not experiences so I think the new Doctor could live his life with Rose and be happy. Although I'm still wondering if he got a job which he'd have to what would it be? I keep thinking he'd be a teacher like in Human Nature but then again I'm not really sure . . .
I think SJA got bad flack cos the pilot story was a bit iffy, and the next proper story featured the Slitheen, which were never everyones favourite new aliens. But the stories picked up after that, so much so that I'd say that 'Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane' could have fit into Doctor Who proper as a Doctor lite episode. (Also the baddie is related to the story in 'Turn Left') I know a good spot where you can catch these and more (including full Series 1+2 DW Confidentials) if you want a PM.
I felt so bad for Donna--her fate really was almost worse than dying. And I hate the fact that she always thinks she's not worth anything, and now she'll never know how important she really is!
Actually there is precedence for the Doctor being grounded. Back in Classic Season 7 with the Third Doctor, he was (mostly) stuck on earth, which is how he ended up working with UNIT.
Never a dull moment, even without the TARDIS, and remember they have the alternative Torchwood which Rose works at. There is a whole world of possible story lines.
I think it was sad that Donna didn't remember how the Doctor changed her, so she goes back to being snotty and annoying. So will she ever change back and be cooler?
I LOVED everyone piloting the TARDIS. It was like the last happy moment he'll ever have with his entire family....SAD
I'm happy that Rose got her Doctor. Because if she got 'The' Doctor could you imagine The Doctor settling down with a morgage? He said that in series two and Journey's End made me think of it again!

I also loved this episode.
Sarah Jane Adventures...not so much.
Donna's ending was so sad! (I hated her for most of this season, but I actually have ended up finding myself liking her.)

By the way, Martha was also at the end of series 2 of Torchwood. I just thought you might like to know that.
Donna's ending was so sad. And we lost Wilf, too! I was sobbing.
Lol, yeah, that moment in the Tardis was brilliant. I remember thinking during the scene that is was such an awesome family portrait kind of thing.

Oh, I know she was. I just never got around to watch it all, but if she's a regular..I want to watch :)
Family portrait indeed. xxx
