  • The actress should have just threw that puppet away. She's even not used that puppet to act.

Maybe the singing part was pretty good, but poor acting ruined everything

  • God, those are horrible puppets...acting is good, but the puppets..........jeez.

  • The actor for Rod in this is AMAZING <3

  • The guy that does Nicky- the expressions on his face are HILARIOUS!

  • This is one of the awesomest musicals ev-ar! Ive memorized all the songs its not even funny..

  • 2:43 I felt gay just watching it

  • Apparently this version of Nicky shaves once in a while

  • He so far in the closet he ran into narinia!

  • I can't wait to eat her 9@%%# Again ^_^ Me too.

  • why is gary coleman asian?

  • @bnyc5131999 because it's the philippine production of avenue q...

  • rod has jimmy n.'s hair cut

  • The person who plays Kate monster was absolutely amazing!

  • @muffyforevrz

I believe this wonderful singer-actress is Rachel Alejandro. I wish I had seen her in this onstage!

  • @odatgirl47 sorry , thats not rachel. Thats my wife.. Carla Guevara - Laforteza. =)

  • @TheChefGL Thank you, Chef Godfrey! I was so moved by this video, I searched for her identity, but was mistaken. Please tell Carla, I am now a big fan of her acting and her voice. I had seen Avenue Q in San Francisco (2/2011), then found this video, which actually helped me get through a painful breakup. Where can I see more of her work? Thanks again.

  • Oh, poor Rod! xD <3

  • You have to remember the entire idea behind Avenue Q… it’s a very elegant and smooth contrast to the hopeful optimism of Sesame street. It directly counters quite a few elements of the childhood show... right from the B.A. in English song, because society tells us that going to college is good and gets us jobs when reality can be so different. Using puppets makes a link to that show.. yes, the show could be done very well without puppets. But doing so loses its link to the shows roots

  • Was this like a dress rehearsel or something?? Where the fuck was the audience?

  • The first puppet wasn't bad, but the others were gross... The performances were awesome though

  • Great performance, just terrible puppets. I've made better looking ones myself.

  • Aiza Seguerra as Gary Coleman.

    MY DAY HAS BEEN MADE.

  • Whoever the actress is singing "Fine, fine line" is the freakin' bomb! Wow!

  • I love how Rod's bed is straight and Nicky's bed is messy. Hee!

  • nothing compared to Julie Atherton <3

  • eh i think the puppets ruin it :/ i would like it woithout the puppets

  • @boltlovagirl It's a puppet show. It wouldn't be Avenue Q without puppets. I won't lie, the puppets in this performance we're appalling, but when you watch better versions the puppets are better and it affects the quality of the show, but you can't have Avenue Q without puppets i'm afraid.

  • I like how at the start of Fantasies, it looks like two gay puppets have human BFs :p

  • Those puppets are weird... especially Kate Monster's.

  • these 3 look different than the usuall shows

  • That christmas eve's accent is shite! The guy who plays Rod has a good voice. The puppets could be better and Nicky sounded nothing like he was from NY!

  • you look like david hasselhoff rofl XD

  • what a terrible audience! is anyone there???

  • @MissAlainey1991 I think this was probably a rehearsal, so no audience

  • @intoxicacie i hope so cuz these guys were amazing!!!

  • I loved Fine, fine line. She was fantastic

  • Amazing Acting, great singing and sounding like she's crying at the same time! <3

  • other than these puppets being a little larger then they should be in my opinion I think they look really good and a lot like the original. I have seen much worse in other productions...

  • people say the puppets are atrocious and things like that, yet its meant to be a puppet show? and there the puppets, and look at Kermit? atrocious, yet everyone loves him! its all amazing, i can tell, yet i am 15.

  • puppets are awful, but the acting and singing definatly made up for that!

  • The puppets look ridiculous! However - The acting/singing is amazing!

  • @MrSingingLewis yup the singing and acting was fab ... but the puppets aren't the WORST i've seen

  • Kate's puppet looks like she's on the monthly bloat xD

But the Fine Line performance was sooo perfect, nearly made me cry a little :') and the guy who plays Rod/Princeton is fab :D why didnt they applaud after Girlfriend In Canada, was it a conservative type audience who were offended by the word pussy or something?xD

  • @jackolas2007 I feel like this was a press call or something because you can hear very loudly photos being taken throughout the video...

  • Was this the off broadway production?

  • it's more the hair and the dress than the actual puppet

  • who is the girl singing? She is amazing!!!

  • @rommelandlori8179 Thanks! Thats my wife Carla Guevara Laforteza =) She is a stage actress from the Philippines.

  • the kate puppet isn't bad, the hair is just done up in a weird way.

    great job singing!

  • I cant believe I have tears running down my face . I never knew a puppet had that power

  • The puppets weren't very good in this one. But hte acting and singing was good. :)

  • could someone remind me what happened to Kate that this song occurred?

  • @CarolinePar Princeton told Kate that he needed to find his purpose and he thought being with Kate would just bring him to a perposeal so he told her they couldn't be together

  • Why aren't they clapping?

  • @ACgurrrl They are not suppsed to clap. The music suddenly stops without a final note, in order to prevent clapping. Rod's song is supposed not to get the affect Rod wanted.

  • i have to agree with poisoned apple...rachel alejandro does it better. just watched avenue q tonight! THE CAST WAS SIMPLY...PERFECTION.

  • WOw on Carla Laforteza's performance...

  • LOL, the way Christmas Eve said "A gay: at 7:30 made me laugh xD

THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING! Too bad people in this country aren't the best at clapping (Im asian, so I know) =(

  • The Japanese official cast, I presume.

  • @YouNotch no, they are mostle filipinos. :)

  • This is actually the Manila cast that performed at the Esplanade theater in Singapore.

  • This is the best performance of "There's a Fine Fine Line" I think I've ever seen... :D

  • @skylarandmoose I agree. Her singing and emotion gave me chills, but the puppets are horrible :(

  • @zeldamaddie The Trekkie Puppet is top notch tho, Gotta admit.

  • i still think rachel alejandro does kate best!

  • bad puppetry makes me Upsset!

  • Why do the puppets look slightly low-quality? I remember seeing the show on tour, and they looked WAY better. Also, do the puppets change depending on the actor who's miming them? For iexample, Kate Monster looks totally different from the U.S. tour production.

  • @bwaygammagurl is this the profeshinal production? i dont think it is you know :s the puppets badly made.. they never make kayt monster like that! :s lol

  • FLUFFY PUPPETS :3 With Big Eyes O.O

  • Is that Lea Salonga who plays kate?

  • NOpe.. thats Carla Guevara - Laforteza =) She recently played Maureen in the Manila production of RENT.

  • shye is an amzing singer

  • The actors are great. Just imagine how good they could be if they had better puppets.

  • ah the crapiness kinda makes it

  • hahaha. loved it. quite good. what company did this? cuz it was fun to watch. i saw it on west end and it was pretty good compared to that.

  • @bibibabkagirl It was Atlantis Productions.

  • Wrong puppets?

  • this made me first fown, next laugh then last laugh more

  • I don't understand the reason for putting Muppet characters as leads instead of real actors. In this version, yes, the singing is wonderful, but FranBMan is right on. I bet it would look so much more appealing if real people were acting out this play.

  • Oh no, that's not what I meant at all. The puppets in the West End and Broadway productions are wonderful, it's just these particularly puppets are very shabbily made.

You couldn't perform Avenue Q without the puppets because the whole innocence of the show comes from the fact that it's children's television for grownups. If humans sung "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" it would just be offensive. The puppets allow you to let your guard down.

  • However, point of it is Sesame Street for adults.

  • I really like the voices here, and how it looked like Rod's expression changed at 9:01 xD

LOL Brian from 9:18- the end

  • excellent!!! such fantastic espressions.

  • kate monsters hands re fucked up... well they all are....but overall good performance!

  • The acting/singing is superb, but the puppets are atrocious. Sorry to be nasty but they really are.

  • Thats what makes it funny cos there a bit fooked up :L x

  • @FranBMan You're not being nasty; you're being completely right.

And by the way, there is a star in this clip. Great video!

  • @FranBMan Avenue Q is one of my favorite comedic Broadways, but I totally agree with you lol

  • @FranBMan

They're no meant to be great.

  • @Sarahrosebello But they should be. The puppets are an integral part of the show. They should be detailed and beautiful.

  • @FranBMan agreed. the brit and american versians have great puppets

  • @FranBMan it's ok. you were expressing your feeling in a great way

  • @FranBMan Actually, I really like the Nicky puppet. And the only thing wrong on Rod is the "lazy eye" look. Princeton does kinda have a fat face, though. And Kate's fine, but I don't like what was done with her structurally. Her neck has no freedom to move and it really takes away from the life of the character. But that's all I'd change about her; she doesn't look exactly like the Lyon puppet, but she's still pretty.

  • who put my earmuffs on the cookie?

  • i've seen worse puppets, and the performance was great!

  • kate monster looks sooooo bad

  • great!

  • such great performances! felix and carla are AWESOME!

  • great performances but they look like budget puppets, should've stuck to the originals

  • I love the performances! The puppets look a little weird though... but still good!

  • mann I'm such a fan of her...carla guev is the awesomeness!!!!

  • oh yeah Felix is like the awesomeness also!!! mann they're all hella good!!!

    thanks for sharing the videos

  • Thats because thats not rachel! The girl singing is Carla Guevarra-Laforteza. she replaced rachel alejandro in the final run and th singapore run of avenue q.

  • I didn't even recognize Rachel Alejandro!! All I know is, I loove her rendition of There's a Fine Fine Line. It's so emotional, so well sung. Superb!

  • 0:01

  • impressive performance.

  • Very good perfomance

  • Alos, I love the faster arrangement for Fantasies. The duet was stunning.
