I think if the gov't legalized it, people involved in cultivating it would add chemicals and crap just like tobacco and you'd have this highly addictive, highly carcinogenic weed that the gov't could make tons of money from while finding yet another way to to kill its own people. Uncle Sam loves population control. Uncle Sam loves control, period. They'd probably find a way to put zombifying chemicals in there, too, to make pot-smokers even more passive and easily controlled.
