  • That's sounds nice. This (or even faster) is a nice contra dancing speed.

  • just come across this, it sounds good i like the way its played.

    are you recording anymore?

  • Yikes, you'll get sued by any Morris man who tries to dance at that speed and twists his ankle.

  • not that good yet??? tis awsome!!!

  • Way way too fast but well done anyway.

  • i've never heard Speed the Plough played as a reel - it's generally regarded as an English polka, so I would agree with Folkbox re. it being too fast, in that respect, as way too fast to dance too. BUT, I did hear yesterday that it's also played in Irish Sessions...so, maybe as a reel, there? Also, note you are playing it in D - so would be hard to play along with others in an English session, as usually played in G.

  • I agree with the the folkbox comment, good technique but slow down to give the tune more time to show itself.

  • yeah nice one folkbox... not! Well played

  • That don't sound like the Speed the plough that i know, anyway what make of melodeon is that?

  • Speed the ploughs a reel it wouldn't sound right if you played it slow(intentionally)is that a D/G like mine,i got it nearly a year ago,you sound great by the way

  • @tittetybumpety i normally play tunes pretty fast, but I find speed the ploguh sounds better if you slow down a bit. it also tends to sound better with a fiddle.

  • Sounds good, my only comment (meant constructively) is not to play it quite that fast. Playing too fast is a common mistake - I do it all the time:-)
