Got the 2 Player sit down in my living room. P2 is all there but doesn't work, poor old girl got hit when we had a lightning strike and the 1P monitor now needs degaussing ! Really is a great game :)

Good Ol' Virtua Racing - the grandaddy of all 3D racing games - but not the first 3D racer (I dont count that Atari 3D racer, it was crap.)

@killwhitey88d Download MAME, download the rom, run MAME, press F5, then double click the Virtua Racing icon and BINGO. Plays well with a XBox 360 controller.

The model animations are very fluid in this game, if you play Quake, the 3D model animations were choppy, maybe because of how low end home computers were compared to this.

Wow! Looks like its pretty much spot on apart from the music/sound glitches. I played this game soo much in the arcade!! Tip - You need to used the hightest camera view, so you can see the cars ahead and plan the best route :o)

Anyone know how I can sort out the button config for this game? The accelerate button and the view change (for the in cockpit view) are the same. If I try and allocate it to a different button it's still doing the job of two buttons.

No It was originally in the Arcade. Then ported to the Megadrive, 32X then finally the Saturn.

Arcade Games were always beter than than the Snes and megadrive becasue they had more hardwaere in them and the games took up more data that would not fit into console cartriges some lots of stuff was left out.

They were ten times bigger, use continuously updated technology from game to game, which of course a console can't do and ultimately each one only has to deal with one game. I'm sure you could've worked that out.

when i made this i was using version 0.115u2.

Mame32 is now called MameUI & is at version 121.1 , i havnt tried it yet though.

Just do a google search for vr.zip and you will most likely find something that works, if it still doesn't work, try downloading from a different site. Also, a wired xbox 360 controller plays great with this...no need for adapters or drivers!

Mame32 is the proper windows version that has its own GUI, the music is abit messed up because of fraps i think, plays fine if fraps isnt capturing game play.
