i heard about this movie and this is the first video I have seen - the end part cos I know the story by reading about it - I couldn't wait to find out about Matthew even when I hadn't seen the full movie yet. I'm def. gonna buy it now. Thanks for the upload. Really broke my heart when DG got out the pics and placed it on Matthew's coffin. This movie could have been promoted better cos nobody i know has heard of it. H'wood is preoccupied with shallowness and materialism. Sigh! (
I know your post is old, but yeah, we live in A sh!t world where people are more concern about what celebrity was caught at Macy's shopping for a stupid hat or something, or what hairstyle someone is sporting, or who's dating who.
@CoverGirl084 , he was a Vietnam Vet that had a business partner that bet all of their earnings on horses & the partner lost all of their money. Then DG lost his wife(she remarried somebody else), children, and house. Leading to him ending up on the streets.
I saw this movie last night. It was in Spanish, but it's a good thing I'm bilingual. This movie made me cry in silence, mostly because I didn't want to draw attention to myself and because my grandma was trying to sleep. But I can honestly say it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. :)
@PanlariChase - I'm glad you really liked the movie. :) It is indeed very touching. Pity you watched dubbed version though. I always hate when they dub movies. Subtitles are always my prefered choice. It's so much more natural and is always pleasant to hear the voices of the real actors and actresses.
This movie if you can believe it only grossed $57,000 at the box office. Is that insane or what? What kind of a world do we live in where works of art like this are ignored while absolute shit like Paris Hilton is promoted relentlessly?
@JamesTKirkCobain , it probably only grossed that because it wasn't promoted well. I didn't even hear about it until one day I went to Blockbusters & I was looking for another movie. I didn't see what I wanted, but I ran across TSOFW by accident. I looked at it & thought when did Danny Glover & Matt Dillon do a movie together? I LOVE this movie. It's so sad that it's depressing! I can't watch the whole thing. I will watch this part because it's my favorite!
most underrated movie ever

@adamwba1979 Yeah, you're right. It is much better, but at least you get the story, right? The details are always very nice to hear, though.
