Interesting choice. Is that a germanium transistor new/old Fuzz Face? The Maestro fuzz I had was germanium when original. Didn't sound much like the reissue I got a few years back, but maybe my ears changed in the interim. My Fuzz Faces from the 70s also sound different, but I know them to be the later transistor type. Maybe they could use an EQ circuit or two. Anyway, the sound you got from putting the two together was quite cool.

The Fuzz Face was a germanium original, so that helped a bit. The Maestro I have is a RI, so it's a bit more gainy than the originals, but it still has that classic gated fuzz characteristic.
