or was that makers of one peice, brim included blocks? I've always used a cross sectional method, with a seperate brim block *shrugs* hobbyist using home powertools... :D
I question the numbers... or do you mean make hat blocks commercially? because I make hat blocks, and don't think I was included in the count. i know one pro and several other good-quality hobbyists in australia :D
Another wood hat block maker here in the USA is Joe (Joseph Rosenbaum) He sells on eBay under "millineryEzone" Go there and see some of the blocks he makes.
I saw a site that had plastic hat blocks. I have hats i want to make a size larger. And I cannot find a hat blocker near me. What would you recommend? Can I do it myself if I buy a plastic hat blocker?
nice work but there is actually quite a few wooden hat block makers around the world, you'll find more than 4 quite easily if you try in the uk alone. Good blockmakers are hard to find though, the really rare blockmakers are the ones that make wood and metal blocks for both small numbers and mass production. That really is a complete blockmaking service! Boon & Lane in Luton England make both and I believe they even make wood blocks for the Queen of England as well as many top London designers.
Really interesting video. You say this gentleman is one of four in the world who still makes hatblocks. Who are the other three? I'm a milliner in the UK.
My husband Owen is another and apart from the guy in Korea and Italy mentioned below I know of at least another 5 elsewhere in the world. Owen from Guy Morse-Brown Hat Blocks Ltd is based in Wiltshire in the UK.
Management by Nigel bloked hat too, in the besharp episode the simpsons...

Glad to see it's not a dead art. Is there a school for this? I'm in the U.S.

I enjoyed the video because I sew hats but now I want to take a millinery class and those classes are hard to find.
