  • That was so cool.

  • Breaks are what the Driver takes for lunch. Brakes are devices to stop the train. LOL.

  • @video125co It pretty much creates the image of the driver going 'USE THE SANDWICHES!!!' when he needs to make an emergency stop.

  • I would rather have the breaks come on automatically than not at all ;D

  • is this third rail powered or diesel?

  • @bhainsad Diesel

  • @mattgleslie k pretty freaki nawesome for a dmu ( i assume)..awesome smoothness!

  • @bhainsad Third rail is a electric rail which sits next to run of the running rail which has electricty passing through, on third rail trains on the boggie there is a samll plate called a pick up shoe which collects the electricity.

  • @Antthecool1 Hey dude thanks a ton but i already knw very well what a third rail is!!! Lemme add dat there are 3 types : top, side & bottom contact with a standard supply of 750 v dc..right??? :)??? PEACE!

  • Those are some impressive brakes.

  • @Diddleshot Agreed

  • a lot of spilled coffee

  • realy? weak breaks!

  • @chickengeorg123 It takes alot to stop a 25'000 tonne train travelling at 125 mph, they're actually very strong breaks.

  • @joetorsney more like 500ton max

  • @joetorsney Actually the Trains in that country are very Lightweight!

Here in America, One train Engine is 800 Tons with 6,000 HP each!

    GO AMERICAN TRAINZ AND BNSF

  • @metroliner89 right ok, I realised how heavy 25000 tonnes and it was quite a bad estimate :P

  • @metroliner89 Actually kiddo, most American road units weigh about 415,000 lbs. and have 4400 horses. Nice try though.

  • @SeattleSubKid Well I'm not sure how much they Weigh, But our second most powerful locomotive is the GE Ac6000 :)

  • @joetorsney

An American heavy freight can get up to about 10,000 tons but you don't see that everyday. Intercity 125 has no where near that much weight since they had to keep axle load to a minimum at high speed.

  • @chickengeorg123 Weak brakes my arse, these are really strong brakes, don't forget, it's not a car, which weighes two tons. It weighs twenty five thousand tonnes. If you tried to stop that with a train with weak brakes, you'd end up going faster, because the brakes'd fail. :s

  • @crazyracer12 25000 tonnes my arse, each railcar 2500 tonnes? u r not moving ur mind in reality man. get the facts

  • @chickengeorg123 Well a steam engine on its own weighs up to 170 tons, so why not a fully loaded diesel passenger train weighing 2500 tonnes? ._.

  • @crazyracer12

    1. u said 25.000 tonnes.

    2. the ICE, 15 cars, 800 tonnes

    3. the intercity weights 371 tonnes, google win´s

  • @crazyracer12

The 125 has no where near the same weight as a steamer. To much axle load is going to damage the track going above 100mph. The Class 43 power car weights a mere 70 tons.

  • WO THERE!!! GREAT VID

  • I went to School next to Slough Station (Now a bloody Tesco!) and that view at the end was what I saw EVERY morning before lessons, break times, and then during some sports lessons.... I remember King George V coming through, I was late for a lesson, and in order to escape punishment, I had to briefly describe to the Class, how a Steam Locomotive worked. I scraped through, by the skin of my teeth :) If Capper and Des watch this, Ey Up!

  • Oh hellfire, Iver at the start.

  • @MrTJVideography Is Iver a nice place?

  • This should show people why they should not cross level crossings when the gates are down. This is considered a rapid deceleration - more than enough to flatten anything on a level crossing!

  • Great video!!

  • I like it. YOU AINT GETTING ME on a train doing 125 OR even 65 for that matter. Not after that little demo. 'Kin 'ell , I'd rather walk it. LOL.

    thanks again.

  • It certainly woke me up! Cheers, Peter! You mention the APT a lot in your vids, now I've seen it work, I'm with Mr Finchfield.

  • That is some impressive braking!

  • One of my favourites. I bet that woke everyone up! :)
