Brandon Routh deserved another shot at Superman. It wasnt his fault that Superman Returns wasnt all that great! They better include the John Williams score in the new Superman movie because nothing can compare to that. That theme is as iconic as Superman is now!

Brandon Routh is a good Superman no doubt. But their was just something so unique and special about Christopher Reeve in the roll. Also after watching Smallville for the last 10 years, and seeing the episodes with Christopher Reeve sort of passing the torch to Tom Welling I would love to see him and Erica in a Superman movie. Just a dream though, doubt it will ever happen. Either way Warner Brothers needs to get on another Superman movie, and a good one!

Three good scenes in the whole movie; the plane, the gattling gun, the flight with Lois to the theme of the original "Can You Read My Mind". otherwise, it stunk and that kid absolutely must GO!

I really love this movie, saw it 16 times in the theater and I am really looking forward to the sequeal. Brandon Routh is hot. I feel people are being very unfair to Superman because they forget to see past the powers and see the truly human person that is there. OK, it wasn't as good as original Superman (1978) but still very good entertaining movie with brilliant visual effects. Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey, James Marsden and Parker Posey were really great.

they didn't forget clark. they just treat clark and superman as the same person. and clark had wanted to talk to lois privately, but it's just that lois didn't want to and it's not convenient and stuff. lois has a SON and a FIANCE remember? so clark aka superman can only sneak up to the roof and take lois for a ride so as to talk to her privately and to let her take a glimpse of what his world is like.

All the supermans were great chris reeve was excelent and all the others. brandon was good too. i think christopher would be very proud of brandon routh plus, dc pick the right character for the film brandon fits in perfectly today, r,i,p Christopher. :]
yeah they didn't give him a lot of lines in the movie. he was very quiet. I have no idea why they did that. Its so lame, the entire interpretation of him being Christ, and having him soar above human beings all the the time.
Tom wellings would have been ok but its like saying the Louis and Clark's SUPERMAN would have been better. Tom Wellings needs to get IN SHAP if he wants to be SUPERMAN. this guy is taller and bigger then him.

Superman Returns was not what many hardcore action-fans wanted, but the movie was anything BUT crap! It wasn't perfec, and it's not for every one. But Superman has never looked better! If this film doesn't get a sequl I'll fucking blow! Ok, it wasn't the box-office smash-hit Warner Bros. hoped for, but it was still successful! Even CRAPPY Fantastic-4 got a sequel (and a third one is in the works). Superman Returns is a great flick!

Hulk is better than superman returns. At least he broke tanks, punch people, and fought armies. Superman fought the pain from the pwnage of Lex Luther. He did not throw a SINGLE PUNCH. One big soap opera. Superbad had more action than this..
The movie wasnt designed for "caveman audiences", it was designed for true Superman fans who wanted a deeper, more complex look at the character and what returning meant for HIM. The trailer and all the hype however, made people think it was about how the world viewed his return negativley, hence it came a little surprising nobody besides Lois gave a shit his abscense had been in any way negative.
What a let down. A remake of the 1978 film, which was far better. Clancy Brown should have been Lex Luthor. Plus the script was so weak...written by two 25 year old kids--horrible.
I thought it was very good the problem with it was the budget they relied to much on technology and the SFX....I think they shoulda used a more conventional way to show Superman flying. I didn't like looking at a small bullet half the time...one of the cool things about the old movies is the camera stayed with Reeves while he flew you actually saw him it was like you were flying with him and they didn't have that in this movie.
And I think that's the reason why peoples hopes were up well combined with the movie should have been a little better and they shouldn't of had the kid.....is that people heard 300 million wow this movie will be amazing and then saw it and thought where did they spend that money??

The only reason he was able to pierce the skin in SR was because he was surrounded by Kryptonite he was standing in a continent of the stuff...combined with the Kryp/knife...and even with that he couldn't drive it all the way in.
No it didn't...it went 3 quarters of the way in and that was after he stabbed him and then drove it in again. Point being it didn't go all the way in with one thrust. And maybe you have some suppressed sexual feelings because what you just said was really gay.

I got this movie on DVD along with the Superman Trilogy DVD's I-IV this past Christmas '06. Great Movie to watch. Obviously, I seen this movie in Theatres last Summer. All the supermans were great chris reeve was excelent and all the others. brandon was good too. i think christopher would be very proud of brandon routh plus, dc pick the right character for the film brandon fits in perfectly today, r,i,p Christopher. :]

yeah they didn't give him a lot of lines in the movie. he was very quiet. I have no idea why they did that. Its so lame, the entire interpretation of him being Christ, and having him soar above human beings all the the time.

Superman Returns was not what many hardcore action-fans wanted, but the movie was anything BUT crap! It wasn't perfec, and it's not for every one. But Superman has never looked better! If this film doesn't get a sequl I'll fucking blow! Ok, it wasn't the box-office smash-hit Warner Bros. hoped for, but it was still successful! Even CRAPPY Fantastic-4 got a sequel (and a third one is in the works). Superman Returns is a great flick!

even if real dad is alive, the man who views Superman, may think of own parent as washed up useless man, for whatever reason. So, for man to look at Supermans dad and hear his wisdom spoken, the voice of his real dad might be thrown to dust or, like me, still believes in his real father in all he went thru with him, and hears his vision of dark comes to light and visa versa thru hios fathers voice. if one feels hate towards supermans father, stop, for some do treasure their fathers wisdom.

The movie wasnt designed for "caveman audiences", it was designed for true Superman fans who wanted a deeper, more complex look at the character and what returning meant for HIM. The trailer and all the hype however, made people think it was about how the world viewed his return negativley, hence it came a little surprising nobody besides Lois gave a shit his abscense had been in any way negative.

What a let down. A remake of the 1978 film, which was far better. Clancy Brown should have been Lex Luthor. Plus the script was so weak...written by two 25 year old kids--horrible.

I thought it was very good the problem with it was the budget they relied to much on technology and the SFX....I think they shoulda used a more conventional way to show Superman flying. I didn't like looking at a small bullet half the time...one of the cool things about the old movies is the camera stayed with Reeves while he flew you actually saw him it was like you were flying with him and they didn't have that in this movie.

The only reason he was able to pierce the skin in SR was because he was surrounded by Kryptonite he was standing in a continent of the stuff...combined with the Kryp/knife...and even with that he couldn't drive it all the way in.

1 - Superman is the Greatest Hero, he would kick any other hero`s ass anyday!!

this movie broke my heart; i waited so many years to see the return, but $@%#@%!! they spend $200 million so we could see superman battle a ROCK at the end of the movie!......A ROCK! the love story wasn't even that interesting; YAWN! we all know superman battles the elements, and ALWAYS WINS! give us something else ! how bout superman can't be in 2 places at the same time, and can't save everyone ? use that in the next movie!!

I got this movie on DVD along with the Superman Trilogy DVD's I-IV this past Christmas '06. Great Movie to watch. Obviously, I seen this movie in Theatres last Summer. Brandon Routh who played The New Man of Steel who returns back to earth and everyone there made a special report that came back to earth for years til then his love interest Lois Lane moved on. SUPERMAN RETURNS became the latest Superman 5 out in theatres last year and release on Video and DVD.

omg! i just watched the superman movies with christopher reeves in it (RIP!) and i am totally obsessed now! so is my 3 year old bro.. my family watched this one and then later that night she went and got all of the movies.. me and both of my 3 year old bros watched the movie, II, III, IV and we're watching the returns one again..lol!
