  • GERWALK is an acronym for Ground Effective Reinforcement of Winged Armament with Locomotive Knee-Joint.

  • The mecha designs is gorgeous, but still as movie Macross Plus really sucks.

  • @TactileBlue not in Japan

  • lol at 11:00 its called Guardian mode not the other name he said.

  • @TactileBlue Way to not know the difference between Macross and Robotech.

  • @TactileBlue fuck you pendejo nice that the creator of macross dont read this pendejo its Gerwalk mode stupid read and know more of macros before talk

  • Yamato??? I thought the YF-19 is named Excalibur.

  • @TactileBlue Yamato is only the name of the toy manufacturer

  • what a toy!

they need to make more jets,in all robot toylines

  • Ozmas valkyrie is the best imo. especially in heavy armor

  • what is the music in the background is it sharon apple?

  • Great review! Thanks! :D

Would it be possible to do a repost with the model in view of the video while you do the transformation and changes? Thanks!

  • A quality video for a quality toy!

  • Being almost totally plastic, why the hell does it cost so much? The price tag is the only thing stopping me from buying one.

  • at 04:10 you compare the yf-19 with the vf-25 and the vf-1, are all at the same scale, 1/60?? why the vf-1 looks so tiny compare with the other 2 vf?

  • I wonder how a f-35 gerwalker would look if it had a vf-1 gerwalker transformation.

  • Luck is one of my skills.

  • why are they so expensive

  • small company. high engineering and tooling cost, small production runs. they would have to sell much much more than the small macross fan market to reduce the cost.

Im not saying theyre worth it, but thats why.

  • @zanderwitaz Very true. As cool as they are, they just aren't worth the MSRP, especially when they tend to have qc issues in the long run. I have found that it's usually best to wait at least 6 months or so before buying to see if any qc issues crop up and to see if they end up going down in price. Lately, I have adopted an 8 months or more policy with Yamato toys because the qc has been quite disappointing, especially with the version 2 1/60 VF-1 Valkyries.

  • valkyrie is so cool

  • Transformable figures like this should at least match their 1/48 & 1/32 scale plastic model cousins.

It makes no sense trying to make something that has an intricate transformation that results in weak and over sized parts.

If they made them bigger it would be more accurate in scale.

Plus, they are too expensive as it stands.

It would be awesome if a company like Bandai would give their macros kits the "perfect grade treatment"

  • The nose makes it look a lot like the Rayleonard Aaliyah-03 from the Armored Core line.

  • do u hav to paint the model or the pilot

  • I'm watching this video and Macross Plus on Sci-Fi Channel right now.

  • best valkyrie ever..!

  • Man, this bastard is expensive. They seem to hover around $170-200 on E-Bay. Wish Yamato would reissue the 19. (Or have they?)

  • they've reissued a few more versions of the 19 but to my knowledge they never stopped producing the original. that's just the RRP for yamato. lol

its cheaper to buy hasegawa 1/48 yf 19 model in plane form only. then wait for them to release the battroid model for yf 19. the models arent transformable but the amazing detail will more than make up for it.

  • Thanks for the heads up on the Hasegawa static model. I always liked the fighter mode better anyway.

  • where you buy it ? and how much is it ?

  • hobbylink japan.

They're not really toys. all Yamato models cost around US$200.

  • AWESOME!

  • I guess I'd be a poor mech pilot - your wobbly camera work just gave me motion sickness :(

  • WTF....it was macross plus bgm's and suddenly triangular from frontier...lol suprised me but nevertheless good videos

  • @lanoche

I can't find it in this whole vid when he plays the Triangular track =(

  • Wow halo gun looks so much like the oen that guy has

  • Isamu sits upside down in battliod mode ????

  • Not upside down.

I believe the cockpit rotates forward 90 degrees.

  • they should mold the hands except the wrist as one piece to prevent that

  • ask yamato if you can go in their factory to see how they build these figures im curious

  • wheres the yf-21 ??

    i wanna see guld lol

  • sweet it was released on my bday

  • I want this figure a lot, though I keep putting purchasing this figure off due to the price...

  • Very nice review ^^

  • i flew it around the room and it did fine.

  • Very nice yes

  • that plane looks more like the ADF-01 Falken and ADFX-01 MORGAN

  • yeah!

  • Bacon, $2.95

    High-Resolution Video Camera, $500.00

    Yamato 1/60 YF-19, $180.00

Breaking your Yamato on camera? Priceless.

  • lol^^

  • O.o hmmm i thought isamu dyson had brown hair.

  • Really like the YF-19! Not convinced by the two repaints coming out... yet. But the 1/48 scale model from Hasegawa looks amazing!

  • love this yamato models.

I have the VF from macros zero and its amazing.

    great video !!

  • This is a great design and one of the best from the Macross series IMO, I got the 25th Ans Black edition of the same model, if only Yamato could make the chest part that can locks into place rather than just leaving the top part "Rest" on top, it would make a while lot better.

  • it is one of the most brilliant macross design. i have one to, including custom, cost me 150 GP, T-T, but its just worth it. if you take a look on the inlay, there is a small group of word, it says, 1994 big west. than if you check it out on net, it is actually designed in 1994. that a whole 15 years ago, and yamato just put it in production something like 2 years ago. i first watch the show in 1998, and waited all this time. just say, its briiiiiiiiillllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaannnntt!

  • I own one (along with the old 1/72 version) and I think it's the best one Yamato's made so far for the Macross toy line.

  • from watchin these vids, one question springs to mind, comin from a guy who's never seen stuff like this, what do theses toys cost, i cunt see anyone payin a great lot for them...get back

  • This one is about $190 USD (18,800 yen)

  • @CollectionDX why in the hell would someone pay a shitload of money like that for?????????? $190 for a plastic piece of crap???? AMERICAN TOYS ARE CHEAPER ANT THEY LOOK BETTER THAN THIS!

  • These Valks are not toys but more of a phenomenal display pieces, some would call it a piece of plastic crap (I mean, art) but I don't mind. What kind of local toys that are cheaper and look better than these? I'm unfamiliar to Robotech toys.

  • @nightslash3535 that is true, but they simply look like toys, but really expensive toys.

  • Typical Yamato quality, the attention of detail is beyond superb and the plastic quality on it's own is on par to other Macross offerings by Yamato, of course. Again, Yamato Toys aren't as big as Mattel, Bandai, Takara, etc, production runs are limited to simply small collector markets. They need to aim at a much wider market (EG: kids) to be much cheaper.

  • Hey there, great review, I own the Macross Plus YF-19 Yomato toys 1994 Big West 2nd edition, apparently the 1st edition had a defect near the legs where it would break off (I think, correct me if I'm wrong). My toy is rather flimsy, die cast parts, just not a stable toy, my Yomato's Escaflowne is also the same, wasn't very impressed with thier toy line ever since, it would seem they are improving tho.

  • This toy is a far cry from that - much improved.

  • I own a first edition YF-19. The major defect is a hinge design on a panel behind the cockpit. If you don't hold the parts properly while collapsing that section during transformation, the hinge will snap off.

So far, the hinge has not broken off on mine, though I have replacement parts ready just in case.

Another design flaw is the Gun Pod placement in Fighter mode. For some reason, it doesn't point straight. This was also corrected on the second edition.

  • The same is true for me, however the hinge on mine did break, sadly.

I've managed to super-glue it back together, it should still transform, but I haven't had the guts to put it back into jet mode yet.

    Sigh.

  • wait which hinge the slide one where the thrusters on its back are located or the one for the neck of the plane

  • The hinge at the neck, where you have to disconnect the back of the cockpit with the rear fuselage of the plane so you can shift the cockpit into the chest.

  • @fryboylll Hey I also have the yf-19 1st edition in a sealed box because of the tab B breakage problem. That is why i bought the blue version and improved and I also had the escaflowne figure. Yes I wasn't to impressed, therefore i didn't purchase anymore yamato toys, but after seeing this review i bought a yf-19 1/60 scale and this toy is much better and to tell you the true I was impressed.

  • What's with the sizzling bacon @ the end about?

    -R78

  • I love bacon. Thats all.

    Josh

  • @CollectionDX That's a pretty good ending for any video!

  • Awesome!
