  • Hitlers buzzsaw. That thing is all sorts of intimidating.

  • I've heard the MG42 was not horribly accurate and I wanted to see if that was true. I know all machine guns (and guns for that matter) shoot in a general cone shape, but do you notice that it shoots a little wider than most machine guns or do you not see any real differences? Also, do you shoot the surplus 7.92mm? I can't imagine you shoot strictly brass all the time, it must get expensive! Great video!

  • Dear santa...

  • how much does a belt of ammo cost, it cant be cheap

  • German Defense < American Offense

  • I feel sorry for anyone caught in the sights of this weapon ! The MG42 was the best of the war.

  • I think all that noise is coming from the receiver breaking the sound barrier

  • fystee one isnt she...

  • woww from this video that gun looks to have little or no recoil , thats intense

  • @iluvrocknrap that is because the heavy tripod, check out another video with an bipod

  • Here it used to be to be called "Hitlersäge". In today´s Germany, if they catch you with a gun like that, you´re in a_lot_of_trouble. Damn German gun laws..... I gotta emigrate to Texas, so I can wear a cowboy hat and fire automatic weapons!

  • C2,was this MG42 built from a collection of parts or from a de-milled kit where the receiver had been sawn/gas cut etc? If the receiver was re-welded what are you views on weapons where the receiver has be welded back together? I myself would be very wary of any weapon that had been welded back together, small calibre weapons I could trust but there is a video on here of someone welding a LAHTI L-39 receiver back together. This rifle takes a 20mmx138B shell,I wouldn't risk it,its a fierce weapon!

  • @silver760 There is nothing wrong with re-welding a receiver after it has been cut, by either saw or torch as long as the welds are pure (clean) and proper steps are taken to prep the metal before welding. A new weld can be just as strong as a virgil piece of steel if done correctly. The powerful Dshk that I re-welded is a case example.

  • @silver760 the steel would never break on the weld if you know how to do it. The tensile strength of a weld is much higher than any receiver is going to be.

  • The Devil of Normandy...

  • *watches and cries*

    I am from Australia

  • this has been the last sound a ot of poor guys have ever heard ^^

  • @Gruenkreuz100 Yea,you are right...

  • I'd cry if i heard this gun shooting towards me :(

  • @GusB90 You wouldnt for very long

  • actually WW2 weapons are awesome weapons..... PPSH and thomson submachine gun are really good good weapons even today........ near than kriss super v or p90 mp5 ump or better

  • one of the best guns of the war because it was one of the least likely to jam if maintained properly the japanese and americans suffered form this during the wars in the pacific because of the jungle warfare and constant rain and mud jamming the rounds

  • @A5h13yK The MG42 had a high rate of fire too high to a fault -- i heard it was designed that way to act as a makeshift crude AA gun if need be.

And not about American military equipment, but the Japanese industrial capabilities at the time could only produce crap grenades with 5 second fuses that went off 5 seconds earlier, and guns which officers preferred to swap out with captured allied guerrilla pistols modified from FLARE pistols cuz the standard ones explode in their hands.

  • Nothing like te MG -42, best Machinegun ever

  • LOL this beast killed that poor soldiers on d-day

  • Such a nice Weapon. No Recoil if its on a tripod

  • Shit must have been cash to shot american with those

  • wow, I had no idea the rounds per minute on this gun was so high. incredible...

  • The best empty-brass-making machine ever built!

  • KING OF THE BEASTS

  • G3(or MG-62 as we call it) without tripod - just the two legs! Is how I got my first gold badge, back in '98. And it was of course in; The Royal Danish Guards!!!

  • I love the quick barrel change on this gun, and you cant get any better sound, its a very intimidating weapon to be at the end of.

  • @lareMikejones. yes we do. We use the MG3. its a development from the MG42 but nearly the same.

  • made in germany

  • love the sound the gun makes

  • @Deathbyreality1 unless you were on the business end hahaha

  • I want to handfire an MG42. I heard they had to learn to handfire an MG42 in the German army.

  • I love MG42's unless someone fires it at me >:l

  • Dear Santa...

  • Germans know a thing or two about engineering weapons, that's for sure.

  • That might hurt a bit

  • still the fastest shooting single barrel MG, after all these years

  • @mininow after all these years? .. always.

  • I saw one of those at a gun convention, they are very heavy compared to today's SAW's.

  • That sound is so full of fear and epicness. I imagine allied and soviet soldiers pissing their pants when they realised that they need to stand against Hitlers Buzzsaw...

  • @sickpeople98

"allied and soviet soldiers"... lol, yeah two different things.

  • you could even knock off whole treelines with this baby... i'm not shitting you, look it up.

  • Damn accurate, better then most others.

  • 70 years old and still a fucking beast... hell of a machinegun

  • You are really good!

  • @ironmanqqqq It's mounted in a post-war tripod I believe, it's just recoiling in the frame.

  • Hitler's Chainsaw, HELL YEA

  • Sounds like the devil

  • @MaartenOwnd that sir wud be wen the devil has bad gas.

  • That thing is a god damned beast.

  • its so fast :O

  • Hitlers buzz saw. :D

  • The name derives from the enemy hearing and sometimes, if they lucky, seeing the gun:

"My God", then they had between 4 to 2 seconds to live...hence MG42...lol!

German engineering. Totally in love with it.

  • the name was MaschineGewehr 1942 xD

  • This gun is so badass. It doesn't sound like the normal bang, bang, bang. But, IKILLYOUMOTHERFUCKERYOUALLDIEBYMYSPITSOFFIREOFHELLOFDESTRUCTIOOOOON, on full auto.

  • It's almost if that every gun in the world had sex with each other and this was the result.

  • It's eye and ear sex.

  • Great Stable Footage for this Heavy Machine Gun but there is still work to be done on that shoulder damaging Recoil.

  • Wow!

  • If the Germans had introduced the Stg44 when it was invented, around 1942 and not in 1945, they'd have won world war 2

  • @MrAdeVogel Sure, thats sure gonna make the red army run.

  • @MrAdeVogel I wouldn't say win, but they definitely could have gotten back on the offensive.

  • @MrAdeVogel Well you do have to test and produce it first.. Even with the delay.

  • @Rich8951- bullshit some more. The Germany (or, the Third Reich, to be more accurate) was aggressively expanding. The whole "allied" world didn't want the war, thus appeasing Hitler. Crap, Poland offered France a preempitve strike on the Third Reich, but the French have chickened out of it. Besides that, I agree with your comment. Yes,Hitler tried to negotiate with GB after the 1939, but the prime minister has changed since the start of the war,and the new one didn't want no negotiations.

  • HITLERS BUZZ SAW!!!

    - for good reason.

  • One of the best guns ever made.

  • wow its so low recoil

  • @ogswer Pretty sure because it's on a support rail

  • time to change barrels

  • Sure Owned Us On D-Day....

  • tear that shit up! way more effective than the piece of shit m249saw. but then again the most closely comparable weapon in the us arsenal is the m240 which isnt even comparable

  • @revolutionary17

"Us arsenal", you're refering to belgian weapons, rebranded by the us army :)

  • can't even hear individual rounds XD

  • Nothing like a BUZZ SAW to keep their heads down!

  • German Steel ist best from 1939-1946

  • That's some serious rounds per minute!

  • I WANT ONE

  • what computer is this running on? Those graphics look awesome!!

  • Damn, that looks like fun.

  • Nothing better than German engineering :D

  • @JackAcix Just made in germany *G*

  • I was watching a funny ad, and it lead me to this video. Wierd.

  • Damn. Would hate to be torn to shreds by that beast.

  • i could shoot that gun all day

  • ok, now get some nazi zombies.

  • great weapon no recoil!

  • @FreddyGaming it has a LOT of recoil, believe me... you can see it's mounted in this video so recoil is reduced to minimum...

  • It shoots fast, but clearly not fast enough.

  • turn it up full blast XD

  • Now that is a terrifying sound, German Weapons of WWII had an efficient deadly aesthetic.

  • Why the WW2 german weapons have so low recoil ?, this one for example is very precise, still for today a great weapon i think.

  • @wolf69a

this one is mounted on a tripod to hold it stable. Mounted like this you can do aimed bursts up to 2000 meters, otherwise it has too much recoil to give aimed shpts over such distances

  • Without those the Allies probably would've captured Berlin within a month of invading Normandy.

  • Thats a gun.....

  • Nice sound

  • german weaponry at its best

  • @MultiGyroscope

    That's right - so we do :D)

  • u scared me with all of your vids Man. Seriously.

to be honest, have ever killed somebody?

    i promise i won't tell anybody.

  • oh dear god those men who died on the beaches of Normandy, they had to fear the bullets the sound of this, it's terrifying

  • i listened to it and it scared me. gosh i feel sorry for anyone who had to face that.

  • jesus christ that is terrifying.

  • 1200 Rounds per Minute, awesome Firepower, the best MG ever !!

  • @LordFedorHddS a little bit better between 1200-1500

  • The best MG of the world!!!

    I love it<3

  • unbelievable rate of fire and accuracy, german technology at the time of world war 2 was beyond reproach. Almost can't believe the outcome of world war 2, but if the messerschmitt 262 (first jet plane) Wass mass produced or made earlier the outcome could have been very different.

  • why do u need the fancy tripod?

  • wow, crazy rate of fire

  • hard to know how they lost the war lol

  • @bocina1 20mil Russians

  • Nice Recoil ;D

  • amaizing

  • I think the Yanks & Brits found out the answer to that question back in 1942. Even modern day soldiers say: Give me a MG42 with it's it's amazing suppressive fire power and the sound scares the shit out of everybody.

  • $40 a second to fire that weapon.

  • best home defense system from the 1940's. ;)

  • @kelman221 since 1942.....all the numbers of Germanies weapons in WW2 indicate the year they are made.....

  • barrel changes aside, the downfall of this weapon WAS it's ROF. it could fire every bit of ammo carried by a squad in minutes, requiring a third gun-crewman for the sole purpose of carrying ammo. this machine gun was really only effective when mounted in a fixed, reinforced position like a bunker complex. the only modern squad level mg with a similar ROF is the FN minimi, and that is in a much smaller, lighter cartridge allowing more to be carried, AND can be fed by STANAG m16 mags.

  • Hitler's Zipper!

  • if you take a look to german weaponry and see how efective and advanced it was, you ask to yourselve how didnt they won the war ....

  • @donbran92 wars are not fought by weapons by themselves, if you recall every person in history who has attacked russia has lost as russia is defended by her very size hitlers generals told him this, he probably would have also done well to invent the first nuclear weapon, as the first one was supposed to be aimed at berlin but germany surrendered before this could happen. If the USA and USSR stayed out of it, yes they would have won but they built few very good machienes over lots of cheap shit

  • @donbran92 Warfare is about taking a bit of quality wich is combat effective and then produce it in as much numbers as possible. Germany made overcomplicated, far to expensive and prone to failure warmachines. German engineering is heavily overrated. Its good, but better then others? if it was better, they would have won WW2.

MG42= Everyone says its the best Machinegun. But what makes it the best? High ROF? nice, but a barrel that needs to be replaced after 250 rounds because its to hot?

  • @F4Wildcat

It was not that German weapons were so inferior, or that the German soldier was not a good soldier. The Germans were simply out-numbered and out-produced.

The Germans didn't even want the war. Hitler sent his best friend Rudolf Hess to negotiate peace with "Great" Britian. The British didn't want that.

  • @Rich8951 I see your point. Oh, hell, I agree with you.. But, frankly, say I fight someone on a street. Do I need to settle it down with him first or do I also have to attack the bystander who is bigger and even meaner? That would not be the smartest thing to do, to say the least..(And no, Russia did not want to attack first, at least at the moment, the latest historical discoveries disapprove of the fact).

  • @Rich8951 Germany didn't want the war?Hitler sended Hess to England?I wonder wich books you've been reading. There are even memo's found on the topic made by the german high command in wich they drafted several explanations on how to explain Hess going to England by himself.Don't be naive to actually presume that Hitler would've wanted to keep England as a sovereign state.Reason?think preps for D-day?and bombing on Germany? No way they would've accepted that nor England would've.

  • @Rich8951 No, Mr. Hess was on a unauthorized mission without telling anyone. When Hitler heard of it, he said "I wish he drown in the North Sea and save us the trouble of explaining!"

  • @Rich8951 my god you believe that yourself?? Start reading!

  • @Rich8951 ...where the fuck were you in history class? Hitler was INVADING COUNTRIES. He wasnt looking for peace. Seriously, stop that neo nazi skinhead bullshit and open a book, watch a documentary, or talk to anyone who isnt a skinhead.

  • @Famine40 History lies to us

  • @Famine40

do you know why he invaded Polan?

cause Poland killed 50.000 Germans at Danzig and they provoked war with that action.

  • @F4Wildcat

Having better weapons is a good point, but it's not sufficient to win a war.

  • @F4Wildcat

At 1400+ rate of fire any machined barrel gets heated.

It's frictional mechanics , and is perfectly acceptable .

Yes the MG-42's barrel is light because the germans wanted it to be so .

But you must take into consideration the design requirements

Lighter barrel , can give stability to the weapon , and can makes its changing fast , not to mention the weapon is light-weight and portable

Heavy barrel - yes less changes

But omplex mechanism , lesser portability and slow barrel change

  • @F4Wildcat guys like will never learn from history :(

  • Have any of you ever wondered what it feels like to be on the receiving end of such a weapon?

  • mow down those allies!

  • you are a lucky man

  • That's my favorite machine gun of all time.

  • One of the best machineguns ever - If not THE best. The only - small - downside to it is that it has many small parts, and when opened, and in the heat of battle ... this can be a problem sometimes. But apart from that, I really can't think of any other problem with it. A almost 70 years old design and it still ranks very very high in the list of the best weapons a soldier can have still ...

  • that sound is the last thing many ppl heard. MG-42 firing is so awesome, drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, drrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • German engineering at its best

  • @DonTheCritic You said it. I'm not German, but I know they can manufacure machine guns very well like the Mp5 and the Mp40. :)

  • @DonTheCritic there is guns better then that but if you think of when its made its impressive how they come up with that in the mid 30´s it was way ahead of time and believe me its aw some to shoot :D

  • @DonTheCritic With better leadership world domination would've been childs play....

  • 23 people are fags

  • Hi, I love your videos and I am a big WW2 history guy. I'm only 15 but i have loved the MG42 for many years, and when i can get my own gun license i would love to collect WW2 weapons (I know a lot about them) and at the top of the list is the MG42. I would like to know how I could get one (if i can ever) and for it to be legal. Thank you.

  • @mtrstudios1 good luck with that. WW2 guns cost a fortune, and often you have to collect different parts and assemble them.

  • psh my single action one shot pistol can shoot faster...nah just kidding. i don't own one of those.

  • Well, now I have a chub.

  • Unglaublich!!! so sexy

  • Bet the pilot of that plane shit himself.

  • I want it!

  • best gun ever made. period

  • @imachavel

Thats why it is still in use today a bit modified of course.

  • have you noticed the pop up thingy on the bottom of the vid wich sais ''Are you ready to fight???'', does that mean like take the gun and shoot some1 annoying you?

  • Instead of spiting bullets its spits death.

  • God damn that thing can rip azz!

  • What an awesome piece of equipment.

  • Why do the gun dealers get all the cool stuff, while i'm stuck here with this single shot bullshit?

  • I had that in the tank i used to shoot in, when i was in the army. It can lay a pretty nasty rain of bullets onto a surprisingly large area.

  • best MG in the world :)

  • I would hate to be at the business end of that

  • how does it handle without the fancy tripod?

  • @iroc464 Like driving a Ferrari. Smooth and fast.

  • @C2builder Ehm....U mean like a Mercedes-Benz???(It's german, anyway ...)

  • @C2builder Ferraris are fast but honestly, they aren't very smooth. To get the outstanding handling characteristics that almost all European exotics have, you have to have stiff racing suspension, among other things. Just being a stickler :)

  • @iroc464 Like a Singer sewing machine.

  • @iroc464 this aint tripod...its called "Feldlafette and is on piece of equipment that turns this rapid firing killing machine into a awesome precision hell of a daemon weapon that nobody back in WW2 wanted to mess around with..the gunner turned into a rapid firing sniper on this thing..

  • @Sustructy: It's mounted in a tripod in the video. Fired from prone position on the ground with support only from the front bipod I can assure you: You better hold on to it or your shoulder's going to hurt :-)

  • I was an german paratrooper and i dont know a better machinegun like the MG 3

    1:Powerfull

    2:High firerate

3:And very deadly if a good gunner handle this machinegun

  • we need to fix congress! ill tell ya how... we outta machine gun those bastards, bring in another group, machine gun them too! the third group? theyrd be alright....
