Character select screen and parallax scrolling is too much for NES. Very impressive. Also, this game is real I downloaded its rom years ago but its not official OF COURSE!
That's because of what I like to call "multiples". The second row of the selection screen is actually a reordered copy of the first row.
Pirate fighting games for NES are notorious for this gimmick... and for bad gameplay. If you want a good SF style fighting game on the NES just get Turtles Tournament Fighters (which is one of only two SF style games officially released on NES).
Match better than PS3 version.

the Powerplayer Super Joy. That was renamed "Tekken" to get away from copyrights. The real game was "Karateka".
