Yeah I think what he does is he starts just sketching on a sheet of paper card stock, and does little quick drawings, when he feels hes got the life or rhythm he enlarges that little drawing to the actual size before print with a computer or copy machine. Then he takes the blown up drawing and uses a light board and traces over it on to a new sheet of paper, after getting the placement he lightly erases it, then draws over the drawing darker for the finished pencil.
It seems that he uses more than one paper since he starts. One to set up the composition and another one to repeat the draw with a precise idea and in a cleaner way.Is that right for you?
@kernelpanic1978 For comic pages Scott seems to sketch out on actual comic size paper 10/15 four little rough comic pages all at once. So on one sheet hes looking at four pages left to right. Then he blows up those little roughs to actual size again and finishes it. It is possible though before he gets the little sketch he wants, he goes through several little rough thumbnails before he decides on the one he wants to blow up for the final.
