Wow, quiet. We have a five ton infinity that was installed on our house in Bastrop in 2004, and it makes the most terrible racket when it starts. Best way to describe it, it sounds like a crankcase low on oil. As the pressure increases, the sound does as well. It has done this since new but seems worse. So loud you can hear it in the house!
I enjoy reading the posts by both newbes and old timers, but personally as an experienced residential tech of 28 years ,Ialso prefer the filter drier at the coil,as it will be most affective there. As far as the install does,it looks average at best ,unit sits a little crooked, and as far as the lines go i prefer straight 90 s and 45s.I do appreciate your enthusiasm however.
their is a new condenser the lines have been flush. The is no requirement to install dyer at coil. Do not critizise someones installation unless you know what you are talking about.
no their is not a dryer on the inside the conde.ser. you are wrong sir. yes when you install a ecoil by itself a dryer must go on inside because of the potiential trash from coming from the old condenser. In this case their is a new conde s
The line dryer should be installed inside the house at the fan coil.
It should be 5” before the evaporator. This is another terrible install, I hope you didn’t pay for it. The installer should have read the installation instructions first, before installing the unit.
Im about to install a 5-ton infinity with 3 zones... would you recomend a supply and return for each zone? I know that there is no bypass damper beacause the indoor fan is variable speed but just wondering what you thought

Heat pump is another word for A/C unit? Or does it have something to do with the furnace inside the home?

I really like how the unit looks! (Especially the fan blade style with the sharp edges.)

What was wrong with the Carrier BASE model, and was it a heat pump or a straight-cool unit?
