  • lol i didnt even notice he dropped that shit on his foot. lol i woulda jumped

  • 500 bounced off your foot and you walked it off like it was nothing lmao...what a champ

  • hahahahaha you fuckin' dummy =D

  • ha ha dude was wearing Chucks. LMAO, that's why you wear power-lifting shoes when you are power-lifting. Don't be cheap. Get it right.

  • @Akamuone ?! most powerlifters wear chucks... i can pull up articles were elite powerlifters say to wear chucks

  • @lovesgibson no doubt, just like many bikers don't wear a full helmet, doesn't make it a good or safe idea. Chucks are cheap power lifting tools. Not the best for power lifting and provide NO protection.

  • nice chucks

  • LMAO I love his face at the end

  • I know 16 year olds who do 450lb deadlifts

  • Most badass vid on youtube. Nice work mate. From Australia.

  • this is nothing compared to the 45 lbs i dropped on my finger

  • 7burnitdown u are very uninformed about sumo technique, I actually had decent form off ground and my foot placement was a little wide but the actual problem was the slight rotation at the top, caused by an imbalance in my strength on my right side. I did break a PR so it couldn't have been to bad. Id love to see your vid of your form. Plz post it.

  • Horrible sumo deadlift form! serves u right. thats what u get for pointing ur toes out that far!

  • dumb ass

  • @AgainstAllOdds09 What a well crafted and whitty post....you my friend, are a poet of the internet world....."dumb ass" I am going to try and remember that when I really want to make a well thought out point in a debate in the futre...bravo

  • @davidcunningham73 I remember when I couldn't spell *witty

  • @davidcunningham73 shut the fuck up.

  • Hope you're ok dude.

Wow you seriously took the pain like a real man, something similar(not as serious as yours) happened to me recently i squashed my hands middle finger with a 70lb dumbell it hurt like hell!!

    Keep it up dude!

  • dont listen to the haters, they are only jealous.. you're a strong man. Bad-ass too.

  • good job on putting 500 straight to your waist.

  • fuckin ouch.

  • I'm glad you took the pain like a man, and didn't squeal like a bitch. Good job on the lift.

  • I'm glad you took the pain like a man, and didn't squeal like a bitch. Good job on the lift.

  • Took that pain like a champ!

  • has any one who does dead lifts ever tried the charge tecnique ?

  • well good job on the lift, im just confused why you have such an audience for this lift. not hating, but im 21 and can deadlift 400+. i'd like to get me an audience that big lol

  • @dillhole02 It's called a powerliftng meet. You should try one, it will change your attitude of comparing your numbers and age to someone elses, it's all about you and your personal bests. People online are total haters, I would bet that not one negative comment on this link was written by someone who has actually been on the platform. Powerlifting is a sport where everyone roots for others, it's all about personal triumph. So go compete!

  • @davidcunningham73 sounds cool man, good luck in the future

  • and hes smiling about it, thats the spirit!

  • Dude do you seriousley not realize that this is not the correct way to dead lift? Im just saying... do it right or just dont do it at all.

  • @MrDTRAIN91 That is called the Sumo Deadlift, and is legal in every federation. I got 3 white lights on that lift!

  • @davidcunningham73 Nice work... Its funny reading the comments people post like "I'm 21 and can deadlift 400+" and "Do you seriousley (not know how to spell) not realize that this is not the correct way to deadlift?" Lifting is all about beating pr's, not comparing yourself, and it's called sumo deadlift kid, learn to spell, then you might learn to read and hence further your knowledge of lifts.

  • @MrGanaedwards Well said......

  • @MrGanaedwards Because we all know it takes so much talent to be a dumbass and lift an amount of weight that we were never meant to lift.

  • @spikeman23 Talent no, a ton of hard work and dedication yes. Then again hard work and dedication are what allow us to do all kinds of things we were "never meant to do"

  • @MrDTRAIN91 its called a Sumo Deadlift, he knows his shit. there are many ways of deadlifting, conventional is more of a popular one. Bio-mechanically everybody is different, some will prefer the sumo some will not.

  • Guys, stop saying what he did wrong, or that he's stupid for liking this sport. Its his life, and I'm just glad he likes this as much as enjoy movies...

  • I hope you learned from that boy, man that must be hurt alot

  • maybe if you put your feet out a little wider, and lifted the weight a little less distance-?

    also, ouch.

  • Ahahahaha. Set the new record with your 500 lbs deadlift with feet outside the plates.

  • NICE FORM DICK HEAD AHAHAH

  • I can't stop laughing...sorry

  • @toolbagcentral

I just looked it up and saw about 10 videos.. that's enough to make me stop doing the palm out palm in grip...jesus....

And to think I was lifting like that at 380+lbs... fuck... thanks for saving my arm... Just seeing the dudes bicep fucking curl up is nasty...jesus christ!

    -N

  • that must have hurt a lil bit

  • All this adieu for 500lbs?

  • @JeffSims009 actually i don't think dropping a thousand pounds on your pinky toe would hurt much more. My toe completely flattened and blew apart in my chucks.

  • LOL daym i saw that coming. but its all good atleast yu took it look a man. i gaurantee i woulda been bawlin my eyes out rofl

  • he deserves it,,that s not a deadlift

  • wow i would cry like a little girl

  • pufff k mala tecnica.. suerte para la proxima..

  • forget the power lifting go for shape lose that stomach

  • @VERONESEDAN The saying is "only the strong surrive".....not the most shapely. BE STRONG!

  • @davidcunningham73 Dude come on , no one said about getting ripped abs and shit but u know that the belly fat is very dangerous because it goes on the organs...its not about appearance its about good health

  • @freddy692000 I'm sure your real concerned about my health....real men lift heavy....

  • @davidcunningham73 I think it's "survival of the fittest", not fattest.

  • @VERONESEDAN lol, your a wanka mate! arent you late for your pedicure and your moisturising session with your boyfriend, you 2 can talk about your shape together

  • @VERONESEDAN lol your a wanka mate, arent you late for your wax and beauty therapy sessions, your boyfriends waiting for you!... good effort on the lift, big balls to not bitch about the smashed foot to!

  • @VERONESEDAN lol your a wanka mate, arent you late for your wax and beauty therapy sessions, your boyfriends waiting for you!... good effort on the lift, big balls to not bitch about the smashed foot to!

  • the distance between the sleeves should be about 4 1/2 inches further

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

q feoooo q te pase eso

  • I think you should have a wider stance

  • @Jaahaah I'm working on it, I'd like to get my feet on the outisde of the plates someday.

  • If you dead-lifted like a normal guy would that wouldn't happen!!!

  • @username200811 i pull sumo in competitions because you get more out of your gear, I can actually pull more conventional when i deadlift raw. so post your video of you moving some weight or shut-up kid....go do some p90x with your girlfriend.

  • @davidcunningham73 how much did you weigh in this comp?

  • @jabeaudry 250

  • @davidcunningham73, if you pull on normal deadlift without gear more then in sumo with gear, question is why do you use gear? I pull 480lbs without any gear and straps and so on... SHAMEFULL form of deadlift

  • @mrki69tua When you compete in a full meet, you either are geared or raw. So, even though I pull more conventional raw, I wear gear because my squat and bench press are a different story. You get a lot more out of gear on those two lifts. Sumo is a totally legal form of deadlifting, and most of the geared world records in any federation are sumo. That is because the stance lets you get more out of the hip region of your suit. There is a big difference between gym lifts, and meets!

  • @davidcunningham73 It's about time for your injection isn't it?

  • @username200811 It's a gear thing. I pull conventional normally, but in gear I can pull more sumo...

  • sumo deadlift ;p

  • LOL!!! you mangled that toe! One of our training partners once dropped 600 on his foot and smashed it all to hell. not pleasant

  • Haha I've done some dumb shit like that before ha ha good job on the deadlift

  • haha jesus. i dropped a 100lb dumbbell on my toe and i thought that was bad.

  • shit that must have hurt.. i dropped a 10 pound weight on my toe the other day and that hurt bad enough.

  • jesus that looked fkn sore.great lift all the same. But why do powerlifters have such a wide stance compared to bodybuilders?

  • @ah4fecksake this is sumo style many powerlifters do a regular conventional style and many BBs also do sumo style...it's all about preference

  • shiiiitt that's painful, congrats 4 taking it like a man, anyways, that's why I do conventional DLs

  • Wow thats not even 500 pounds. Thats 2, 45s and i 25 on each side. Do the math

  • @TRMxProduction Hey Arnold, those are 100's not 45's......you do the math Brainy Smurf...

  • @TRMxProduction haha somebody has never left the safe and cozy nest that is a comercial gym, lol soo sad that you would waste your time commenting here

  • @TRMxProduction shut the fuck up

  • NOT A DEADLIFT

  • @spegedie6 Well, every powerlifting federation in the world would disagree with you on that one......

  • @davidcunningham73 My guess is that spefedie6, doesn't know what a Sumo dead lift is. Both regular and Sumo are allowed on powerlifting.

  • i was there lol. i love darrel latches meets

  • I guess you could say he was a bit flat footed.

  • Took the hit like a champion though! Hope your toes are all well.

  • Damn good lift, how are your toes now?

  • @IloveIbanez : They are back to normal, infact still wearing the same pair of blood stained chucks for deadlift days....

  • ncie lift and OUCH! 500 is a milestone for most people and good job staying tough for the people

  • @PowerlifterTy16 : Thanks, I really didn't feel it much, had my adreline pumping before it even hit my toes.....

  • AFTER THAT I WOULDA PUT ON 100lbs more! and pulled that fkin shit up! musta hurt like a biatch

  • @Screamersmusic B%LLSH*T you would have....you would went straight to the hospital, my two outside toes popped like a zit!! However, I did man up, you wouldnt know it from this video, but inside those Chucks my toes looked like hamburger...stay strong.

  • @Screamersmusic haha great lift tho mate

  • thats the risks of a really wide stance.

  • ouch.... my dad tells me stories all the time about lifting accidents hes seen. now i know what he's talking about.

  • this comes out i people cant stand like they should

  • f u

  • Oww, and congratulations on the lift. Maybe a tad less wide next time ( obviously ). Hope you recover well.

  • U are the MAN. U didnt screem didnt cry, etc.... U didnt show u felt pain. Respect!!!

  • that pic is gnarly lookin haha nice lift tho kudos

  • I love your shoes, i use converse high tops to cuz i dont wanna pay 80$ for actual weight shoes, good lift

  • Although that was a stupid mistake, it's very common. I'm very careful on a sumo deadlift because of exactly that.

Mava96 is obviously an admirer and not a lifter.

    Good luck!

  • what was the idea? to show how strong you are?, to show how stupid you can be? or both ?

  • @mava96 to show friends and family my unfortuanate mistake, live and learn....

  • @mava96 dont watch the video if you dont like it

  • @Keeperz1 well said brotha!!

  • @mava96 both

  • ouch, careful with the sumo style

  • wow at least u got it up and yes in some case if u deadlift spread out it helps u out to keep u stable i tryed it and its better

  • @shufflersgt16 wider is better for me, just not that wide

  • goddamn! that looks painful!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bomdigi1 it was!!!!

  • ouchhhhh!!!! that's all I have to say :S

  • @Danielote12276 hell yea!

  • im sry bro, but u asked for it once u put ur feet against the weights before lifting, theres no way that wasnt going to happen. hope u get better.. and smarter :)

  • @badass147 i've deadlifted every week for years and never done that, i guess i just got swept up in the crowd and went wider because i pull more that way....live and learn....but atleast i got up on the platform and set a pr....that's what powerlifting is all about

  • I've never seen anyone deadlift with their feet that wide apart. Is that smart or provide any benefits?

  • i get more out of my gear with a wider stance, i let my adrelin get the best of me and set up wider than i normally do....live and learn.

  • @TommyWaters

If you are a strong squatter, this is maybe best for you. You use your legs more here than in the normal stand.

  • @jonen9494 i squat 150 pounds more than i pull.....so yea its a lot better for me, I can pull over 500 sumo, i struggle with 475 conv.....i hate deadlifting

    !lol

  • @davidcunningham73

Hehe, I am opposite, I do atleast 2x more in classic deadlift, than I squt. I have a very strong back ;)

  • dude that's hillarious

  • lol and that's one reason to deadlift conventional style.

  • Hey, man, nice lift! Glad you did your record! I hope your foot healed fine! Keep those bars loaded. Hoorah!

  • he shouldnt even spread his leggs that much

  • when it comes to geared lifting, the wider you can get your sumo stance the more you can get out of your gear...if you watch closely, it was the small trunk rotation at the top that got me, put the bar at an angle when it went down...i was a little to wide, but I went to that meet to break a personal record, and I did, bones can heal...lol

  • very true, i let the excitement of the meet get me out of my normal stance. And legs only has one "G", so nobody is perfect...lol

  • @davidcunningham73 dude i still think your awesome for that lift bro grats man im only 15 turning 16 im dead lifting 300lb at this moment im playing sports as well im a lineman defensive flat bench 320lb leg press 600 (one leg) i think im doing well reply and rate me from a scale to 1-10 thannks 5*s by the way dude

  • @Heyguyswasup keep up the good work brotha, its a lot easier to get strong at your age, what you do now at age 16 will pay off big time later! Wish i would have started when i was your age...keep it up.

  • Not a smart choice to deadlift 500 lbs with converse sneakers. Hope you get better.

  • believe it or not, there are more world records set wearing chuck's than all other shoes combined....

  • @ravengsxr chuck's are great because of the flat sole and ankle support. the only shoe that may make that less painful would be a steel toed boot

  • in a meet could you put the smaller plate on the inside just to have a litle more distance? just a thought

  • intresting tip, never even considered it, but a great idea.

  • damn! that's why i dont try sumo deadlift (my bar is too short)

damn! ouch... ooouuuchhhh!! ... kinda funny also but, ouuuchhh.

  • damn it boy!

  • Next time I guess you'll use better form.

  • just curious? other than a narrower stance what part of my form needs work?

  • @davidcunningham73 in my opinion your form was good apart from the wide stance, chest out head up really good upper body form... if you brought your feet just outside shoulder width you would be more powerful in your legs, the wider the stance the harder it is.

  • @Griz675 thanks, i was wearing briefs and a suit, so the wider I go the more rebound I get out of my suit....I have never gone that wide before, but I knew it was a heavy weight for me, so I went wider to try and squeeze a little more out of my gear...live and learn.

  • Yeah that is the best way to learn, experiment with different techniques.. see what works for you best. Keep up the good work!!

  • @davidcunningham73 Thats the way we all should think :P

  • @davidcunningham73 Feet needed to be closer together, other than that your pretty good, and if anyone thought I was being a dick or anything like that in my previous comment I wasn't.

  • GOD DAMN thats why you keep your feet in close lol

  • Are the weights ok?

  • no weights were injuredin the filming of this clip

  • @askemone hahahahahaha best comment of the year so far ! hahahaha

  • WOW

  • That hurts!

  • ouch!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good job on ur new pr. I missed 500 twice in a row check it out! take care of that foot lol!!

  • i like how you held yourself together ...knowing that shit hurt like a mother fvcker. didn't want to let the crowd in on your little "painful" secret.

  • Lol @ the slap at 0:12

  • very good dude i can barely do that on hex bar.....but ya imagine if u had no shoes on it would had cut your toes clean off ive seen it happen with fingers on a squat rack.

  • Finally some proper form on YouTube!

  • thanks

  • when did u pull after this? how long to recover?

  • i pulled it in august 2009. took about 6 weeks before I was back to my normal routine, I lost a little feeling in two of my toes due to nerve damage, but it really doesn't affect me.

  • Warrior all the way to the end!

  • This is why I don't use sumo

  • Nice lift Dave, but conventional is safer than the women's style! LOL...just kidding ya.

  • lol, yea my gut gets in the way when i pull conventional.....actually i don't know why i set up so wide, I guess my inner sumo warrior was coming out.....

  • lol the pic at the end rocks!

  • thanks, it hurt like hell, but at least I got a new PR.

  • OOOCCCCHHHH!!!!!!

  • I did something similar to this when I was peeing once. Lucky for me, I was wearing steel-toed boots, but I still broke the urinal clear off the wall.

  • Hey budddy what's up? I rarely use urinals they are not deep enough for me.....

  • I think I would have cried!

    YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

  • There is no crying in powerlifting!

  • Shit dude! I didn't need the picture at the end. Keep pulling!

  • Thanks, but I may try conventional for a while....

  • good idea!

  • lol. hey but you gota admitt I wasn't a pussy about it....
