  • Love this level!!

  • Remember that game.. Super mario 64. where you get stars and buy levels with those stars. and save princess peach.

  • Ah, it sucks to get older. Just hearing this song makes me feel 10 years old again.

  • i love this song it reminds me of cloudy days and swining in a nice relaxing lake

  • Rare was the best video game developers in the history of video game developers PERIOD

  • @MrBloodsplatt rare had NOTHING to do with this..

    its nintendo.

but yea rare was awesome, espically banjo kazooie and tooie, and dkc series.

  • Every part of my life reminds me of Nintendo games I have played. I have played Nintendo since I was 8 years old and soon I will be 30. Every time I hear a song from a Nintendo game, it brings back feelings from that time of my life. My friends stopped playing because they "grew up". I am never gonna stop!

  • @Nicurru “We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” :)

  • @UltimaDalle

    Damn... that was fucking deep.

  • this song. oh my god the memories! they should rename it to nostalgia fist or something. this game got so many hours in when i was a kid its insane =p

  • I honestly thought somebody put the music from Jolly Rodger's lagoon from banjo tooie, I actually never knew the name of this level, even though I've had this game for like 14 years

  • Best track in the game, definetely. This brings back so many memories. Maybe I should make an LP of this game?

  • This song is the saddest in the game cause it is so nostalgic.

  • I hate that eel more than anything in the world.

  • @TheCthulhuMessiah it put so much rage in my soul. So much...

  • is this the exact same song from dire dire docks?

  • @KratosJones8000 there's very little difference between the 2, but yea

  • Best music in the whole game!

  • @BrickBlockhead agreed

  • Uhh, this is Dire Dire Docks.

  • @rockyrigby Dire, Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay.

  • ummm dire dire docks?

  • @MrNodyarg Yep they booth used that same music and I remember at one pet store they had this song going in the saltwater fish area talking about being shocked on hearing that one.

  • eating jolly ranchers while listening to jolly roger bay hehehe!!!

  • Nos-motherfuckin'-talgia

  • Great music from a great game! Rock on N64

  • I just got Mario 64 yestuday and this and Bowsers road are my favorite themes.

  • This is just a great song for peace, quiet, and tranquility....

  • This song is great for sleeping and studying ^-^ which sometimes occur at the same time for me o-o

  • This song man. Deep.

  • DeeJayBee?

  • i luv this part 1:29

  • omg i luv this song :) its so beautiful

  • 69 bpm 4/4

  • My teacher played this on her piano and I noticed About twenty different Mario fans in the room. Crazy how far Nintendo reaches into our memory banks.

  • In fact: This song should be played at all insane asylums and I can guarantee there will be a major change within 24 hours at the latest.

  • If you ever feel so depressed you wish to die then listen to this song before you do anything else.

  • good times back in the day, i always hated this level until i realized the true meaning of this song, it make me remember all the fun i had playing this game, hours and hours when i was 3 and 4, ahhh, where did gaming go

  • check out my piano cover , alittle more diffirent but still good

  • I love this calm theme. I could fall asleep to it.

  • this is a beatiful song

  • Rank:10/10

  • @ZeroSuitSamusLover incorrect 11/10

  • @MistressMokenba Wow, you just gave me a raging, mega-huge boner!!!

  • oh bittersweet nostalgia..

  • this kind of music you can never find in games anymore, there was so much emotion and beauty put into this game, and games LIKE this, but you just cant really find games with emotion in them anymore, sept for nintendo's games they still know how to put emotion into their games, im proud to have grown up with such awesome and beautiful games like this, and i feel sorry for the kid who says their glad to have grown up with MW games, thumbs up if your a proud gamer of these types of games =')

  • @shovelmasterx593 COD games are soulless and it seems they WANT War to happen in the future. BETTER NOT WAR IS BAD AND NOT THE ANSWER.

  • @Lucariogamer14

Fact: The firms and corporations that make weapons for the US military are directly involved in the making of the COD: Modern Warfare series. So of course COD is FULL of pan-American pro-military propaganda.

  • @Lucariogamer14

And I agree. COD is mindless shooting. Braindead gameplay where you basically just shoot people for hours strait. The minor differences are that the guns are a little different from time to time and the people where different clothes.

But Mario 64 is actually a REAL game.

  • @shovelmasterx593 co sign

  • GOD!!!! I hate water courses in mario 64... BUT, the music is awesome. :D That STUPID course with all the pillars... AAAARGH!!!

  • @lixz1

The underwater levels kinda scared me when I was 5 years old.

The levels had some eery (or however it's spelled, I don't even know anymore) atmosphere somehow

  • @SurvivalCoffee that's so funny man. i always felt the same way but never knew how to explain it but you just hit the nail on the head. i was always afraid to go into the water, and the music kinda of scared me because it seemed too calm for a person to be swimming in deep water. especially when that purple eat came out of the old ship! my god!

  • @ANTBOND004 I felt the same way you did. The music, environment, and the the eel me feel scared to swim underwater in this game. I was frightened by that eel many times. D: I was even afraid to explore the ghost ship when it surfaced. It's funny how I love the level now. The eel in the re-make of Super Mario 64 for the DS version re-made the eel so that he was less scary which was surprisingly a bummer for me. I really wanted to face, once again, the one enemy that truly scared me in this game.

  • @SurvivalCoffee in the ds version the stage is not as dark as the 64 version

  • that eel scared the crap out of me

  • @OgnarPliskin

    I know right D:

  • So beatiful.

  • @nincaprisun Noob

  • moments of silence for those marios killed unsespectingly in 1 hit (eaten) by the ell. it hapend to me :(

  • it doesn't matter if they invent the ultimate video game system with the greatest graphics 100 years from now, what we grew up with is what is engraved in our memory simply known as pure happiness. god i miss my childhood.

  • cosmic cove 64!!!

  • That fucking eel was the bane of my youth. I was scared to shit by it.

  • Ugh... I have never liked this song or the stage.... This music is somehow creepy.... Am i the only one who thinks that?

  • @RocketGameCorner Yes. Yes you are.

  • @olimaster577

It might even have been creepy at times, i still loved it and coming back for more nonetheless!

  • @olimaster577 thanks, now i have to search @RocketGameCorner´s comment ...

  • @mthielssalvo yes

  • @RocketGameCorner How can this creepy? Maybe the backwards version would be, but this is so nostalgic and it reminds me of being in an aquariam...

  • @Jocomjg64 It's just.. Ugh... When you look in the backround and only see a dark, menacing sky and hear this music.... It gives me the creeps. I have always been kinda creeped out by the tought of being in the bottom of the sea. And it just gives me a feeling that im in the bottom of the sea. I don't know why, but it just does..

  • @RocketGameCorner Thalassophobic, I presume? :P

  • I blew a load of nostalgia

    Thanks

  • Was I the only one scared shitless by that eel?!? ;_;

  • @LostInACardboardBox Haha nop. Me too

  • @LostInACardboardBox no, me too D:

  • @LostInACardboardBox No! it was the scariest thing in the world for me

  • @LostInACardboardBox no i was scared also but i got over it

  • @sonicfan1234review Seriously, I search this and there are more Dire Dire Docks results! THE SONG SHOULD BE JOLLY ROGERS BAY SINCE THAT STAGE IS THE FIRST WATER STAGE(OTHER THAN THE SECRET CASTLE STAGE).

  • zen...

  • Isnt jolly roger bay a Banjo & Kazooie song ? wtf! this song is called dire dire docks

  • i liked bowser's sub better than jolly roger's pirate ship

  • This song......wow

This is what gaming is about

Bring Backs so many happy memories

And I thank the N64 for coming into my life. :)

  • @Hotster0

I couldn't have said that any better myself. :-)

  • Thumbs up if the Super Mario 64 Replay brought you here!

  • 4 persons are stepped Goombas

  • @1Juanse1 shit what are teh chances of being stepped on out of 93,238 people... damn i feel sorry them.

  • @1Juanse1 persons?

  • @Trollingis1337 Saying persons is the correct way to say it. Like at a pool they say "No persons 10 and under are allowed without adult supervision."

  • Gosh this brings back so many memories, back when the 64 was a newwer product and everyone was blown away by 3-d mario!!!!

  • I remember at mcdonalds they had some N64s in this box thing, I played this game there and drowned. I was only five XD

  • This is simply one of the most beautiful gaming soundtracks ever made..

  • This makes me cry like big fat baby! Such a haunting melody.. Reminds me of times gone by in my life that i cherished.. I'm sad in the knowledge that they'll never return.. I love the way this tune builds in intensity. Anyway ive got to get back to crying ;(.. sooo good. ;)

  • when i here this music i am begoming a cryng babby

  • some how wen i go to the ocean and swim i always hav this song inside my mind but some good times

  • this song is soo peaceful.. makes me want too----......ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Is there a difference between dire dire docks and jolly roger bay's bgm?

  • @MrShayno97 No sir. There is not. Besides the title, of course,

  • @MrShayno97 All right thanks I wasn't sure.

  • i miss the good old days, being 9 years old playin this on my n64, i would literally turn on my n64 sometimes and lay down on my couch while listening to this song and many other games on my n64, and my gf calls me lame as i just told her the same story but she will never understand the emotions i used to have playin a great game with a great sound track, nowadays I don't get the same emotions as i used too, its good to come back after14 years and listen to this, it brings back the child inside

  • @GenX52 It can be very hard to explain to others why this music holds such emotional depth for those of us who grew up it. Ask any person who played this as a kid, they will tell you the same. It's so sad, haunting and beautiful and you can't help but feel happy inside when you hear it again. They worked so hard to create music that perfectly suited the level and brought you into the experience. At the time this was totally new to us. Maybe we just cherish being part of the revolutionary time.

  • This song always gave me goosebumps.... And i was terrible at this level ;(

  • This is my AC:CF town tune =D

    Now I nostalgia-gasm everything I talk with a villager.

  • half my summer was spent on my bed, on my back, DS in hand, playing this game. and it was during that summer that I grew to love this theme, and then I would dream about having that theme on my ipod and dancing to it. sadly, i've never tried the second option.

  • @gampina132 you can use a youtube converter and this game was alot better for the 64 i've had both and lost the best one Q.Q

  • dire...dire docks...

  • My.... childhood....

Memories spring into my brain, Goosebumps appear...

    I miss this game :(

  • Amazing, one of my favourite levels on this epic game!

  • Brilliant song, but I really don't like what Koji Kondo did at 3:05

  • now this is relaxing

  • YouTube wouldn't let me listen to this... says something about needing three stars?

  • @benvolio1987 epic win

  • @benvolio1987 lol I love you thanks for bringing a smile to my face! Haha

  • almost makes me tear up. this game is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

  • Best song ever

  • this brings back memories. this game in my opinion is the best 64 game ever and still one of the best games ever made

  • My favorite! I used to fall asleep to this song when I was little.

  • My favorite! I used to fall asleep to this song when I was little.

  • This has to be the most relaxing song in mario 64 ever.

  • this is a gorgeous piece of background music. takes me right back :)

  • i remember that i was so scared of that eel, because open water scares the crap out of me, so do things that are like massive

  • Ahhh, memories...

  • this is the theme for dire dire docks too

  • This level should be shot and killed.

  • @deathcoreisftw you kept on getting owned by the eel or something?

  • @ghostblade125 Nah i just hate water levels with a passion.

  • @deathcoreisftw I hate undead levels more... but thankfully there were none of those in this game =D

  • The waters in Dire Dire Docks will bring whoever swims in them back into the past. They never run out of air, and they never have to worry about the water pressure. Swimming through will have the people experience their fondest memories.

But all good things don't last forever...

When those people are done swimming and head for the surface, they will feel their childhood memories ebbing away to nothing. When they break the surface, they are in armor and their hand hold guns. We will miss this.

  • You can believe how pissed I was that this song didn't make it into the CD on Mario's 25th anniversary collection. The Slide music was great and all, but this music was legendary.

  • Sounds like childhood...

  • this game was so addicting back then!! i had like 13 games for my 64 but the only 2 games i played was SM64 AND MK64

  • This proves without a shadow of a doubt that adding a fast drum beat to anything makes it sound better.

  • What is the instrument used in this music?

  • I was told that once you have a kid, you cannot act like one any longer. So, I'm getting a vasectomy in a few weeks to live the way I want to live.

  • only good Underwater Music.

  • @nintendo27027 have u heard cosmic coves music from SMG2 yet

  • @mr24ofer24

    I prefer his one.

  • @nintendo27027 cough "Aquatic Ambience" cough

  • k im 18 and im tearing up a little.. this was my childhood and god damn it was special..

  • i just moved out of my parents house, took my N64 with me to my new flat, started playing mario 64 again

  • This is #1 song in Heaven, I'm sure of it!

  • my eyes are sweating

  • 3 people don't remember their childhood...

  • No background song = on the land you started

Violin background song = on water

Drumbeats background song = on a far away land...

  • very depressing song so SAD I love this game especially for the DS

  • FUCK I MISS MY CHILDHOOD T_T

  • I wish I learned how to swim cuz I'm drowning in nostalgia :/
