Do you even know what you are talking about all us Native Americans get along the way that we see it is that we are all one nation, I was not saying anything bad about Ireland or your culture so why would you say the things you said to me I have a lot of Irish friends from Ireland
what a great band, it was so dissapointing they did not make it big on the international stage, they were so close. Thanks for posting, great memories of the summer of 1980
My heart goes out to the Irish people and to Ireland because just like my people the Native Americans other countries came in and took their land like what happen to us Stand tall and Proud my Irish Brothers and Sisters for one day things will change and we will get our lands back....Oh great spirit watch over us and keep us safe.....Aho
@spiritwalker30 During the worst period in our countrys history - the famine which started in 1845 during which millions of our people either perished from "needless" starvation or emigrated on what became known as coffin ships from our island, it was the Choctaw tribe who from meagre resources in 1847 raised funds of $170 to help relieve the starvation. This tribe who saw half their population die on the Trail of Tears only shortly before. Your words are not hollow my friend.
@cejhireland Are You Still Living In This Shit hole of A Country, Where "Fine Gale" Are Taxing Pensioners. We Would be Better Off Letting The English Keep It. It Breaks My Heart That Our Fathers Died, To Let A Parasite Of A Government Fill Their Pockets From The Suffering Of The Irish. We Are No Better Off Than When The English Ruled. Slan Leat.
I'd prefer if we could get our country back from the Germans first!!! Reviewing our budget before it was released to us the people says it all.
Yes I am living here in this country and I agree that it is so horrible to think of what our ancestors fought and died for. Independence gone, sovereignty gone, democracy gone.... need I go on.
I dont want to be negative but Dublin was a dreadful place in the 80's. This song reminds me of the terrible prolonged recession, tragic unemployment, and the horror of massive emmigration. I couldnt even buy a packet of condoms anywhere in my village back then. Things may be bad now, but I think Dublin today is a far better city.
where ever you are Irish person who posted the first post - know we all have those memories and where ever you are - we always miss our Irish, you're part of us x
@HAZLETT16V I think it's just you, I like REO but I think they have a different style, both grate bands. Maybe what happens to you is that you get the same fellings by listening to this and listening to REO.
@HAZLETT16V you are right when it comes to the voice, specially if we take songs like "In my dreams" or "I can't fight this feeling", I insist both great bands!!
This song was my oldest sis Angela's fav song......When she died in 2004 we played it as they lowered the coffin........Song is forever part of her in my heart............I cry when i hear this song though..........
Dublin has to be the most boring and morbid town in the world and people who live there just dont know life or there own self worth its like a prison because almost every bar and food store has arrogant polish security gaurds on them and everyone judges you for simple things like the way you dress act behave walk and talk its SICK get the fuck out and live your life . You cannot express your true self in Dublin because the culture is so extremely different to everywhere.
@RedRebel8 - It's not specifically, I don't think, but considering that Crumlin and Drimnagh were Lynnot's neighborhood growing up, I assume the song is set in Dublin... It's the way I've always pictured it anyway.
This song, "Dancing In The Moonlight" by Thin Lizzy and "Rat Trap" by The Boomtown Rats are my three favourite songs about Dublin - they're like a trilogy. One about the good, one about the bad and this is somewhere in between... This from a seventeen year old girl who grew up in Rathfarnham :P
Thank you so much for posting this beautiful video! Its such a wonderful irish song and the pics makes me sad. Just have been to Dublin once but i really felt in love with ;-) and i want to go back!!!

yeah visit Dublin..and this is an epic tune..that won Reilly many acades...but the truth is...he is a horrible fukr, content on entertaining clinton( who really WAS a fukn great president)...truth remains...you can wear a cowboy hat around Dundalk..your a useless cunt Reilly....and everybody in the windmill thought so....horrible...CUNT..summer in dublin my arse....
I agree with Knuts pity keeping up with the jones' is everything now...well thank God recession may change that at least and things seem a bit more friendly already : )

Dublin in the '80s, best place on earth. I remember Nova, Sunshine, the Halfway House, the Hole in the Wall, the Breffni Inn and Heartbreakers in the Phoenix Park (although it did change names a few times after that). I like the Dubs, great sense of humour and the girls, smart and sexy. I left in "88 for New York but I still think about what it was like and how it's not like that anymore. Too much rules, regulations and trying to be better than one's neighbour.
@knuts1234 lost it all in the celtic tiger,no heritage, only money making, the recession is the best thing to happen to us,made us realise who we are again
there still humans, they just have problems, maybe they weren't as lucky in life as you, ye stuck up cunt, fuck you, people like you who think there better than others piss me off
