Busted! And the Chinese Gymnasts were RIGHTFULLY STRIPPED of their Team bronze medal from Sydney. The ONLY REASON the head of the International Olympic Committee was too scared to really prosecute the Chinese team and HE KEXIN is because China was hosting the Olympics.
@qlavi The original translation for this video was done by a woman who volunteered from within China. After I received that translation, I had it confirmed by a friend of mine who's a professional translator.
Then, after the video's release, journalists worldwide did their own investigations to confirm the validity of our translation, including journalists from the Wall Street Journal, AP, Reuters & literally dozens of international media outlets from Australia, Japan, Singapore, etc.
@qlavi I wanted to add, you're of course welcome to look into it yourself. That's why I chose to leave the original Mandarin audio and show subtitles of our translation, rather than dub it. That way it's right there for anyone else to translate for themselves if they wish to. The IOC did, the worldwide media did, and thus far, I haven't received a single complaint regarding the validity of our translation.
@babylishee Contrary. Elena Produnova was furious that Liu Xuan won the gold medal on the Balance Beam Event Final in Sydney. She thought she should have beaten Liu.
what does this prove? that's her personal opinion and artistic gymnastics results has always been a highly debatable subject. . you don't see romania going on about China 'cheating' or advertising stuff about Elena Produnova being 'held up' by the judges
not that it would change anything. liu xuan was definitely 20, since it was her second olympics.
@babylishee They're not complaining because they know they have been guilty of doing the very same thing. They do not want to be seen as hypocrites. They currently do not have talent to compete equally against China, USA and Australia. Lastly, who's to say they won't lie about the ages of their gymnasts in the future? There was no point for them to complain here, but Russia has complained in the past that the USA always got inflated scores when the USA was beating them in 1991, 2003, 2004.
hey sorry it was russia, not romania. my bad. and 2ndly, i thought she took home bronze?
Yes I saw what Khorky said about Patterson in 2004 and I do not necessarily agree with her. But since you said Russia has been complaining about USA getting 'inflated scores' because the Americans beat them, then are you suggesting that certain Americans (notice i said CERTAIN, don't want to generalize) are guilty of the very same thing nowadays?
@babylishee One doesn't know what happens behind the scenes with back room dealings. I have no substantiation for gymnastics, but I know what goes on behind the scenes in figure skating, and I feel the same happens in gymnastics. The Russians had influence in the 1970s and 1980s, contributing to unjustifiably lower scores given to the likes of Ma Yanhong and Ecaterina Szabo, etc. Later, USA were given generous scores at the 1991 Worlds, where Zmeskal won the All Around.
@babylishee Sore losers? Really? Who got their medals stripped? No response? Didn't think so....bunch of effing cheaters. Russia and Romania have their own political messes to deal with re. gymnastics, their poor showings were their own embarassment, it had nothing to do with the Chinese lying about their ages.
Yang Yun at 14, at least did appear to look older in Sydney as she was more developed physically as a woman and showed so much maturity in her movement and dance... unlike, He Kexin, who, supposedly at 16, looks and has the maturity of a 13 year old!
Nothing new here in Women's Gymnastics. Romania has done this a few times before with Daniela Silivas coming out and admitting that her documents were falsified to make her age eligible for the 1985 World Championships in Montreal, Canada.
No surprising, Chinese communist party always manipulate data and history in favor of them. If the government said 100 people were killed, which actually means 1000 people were killd. Manipulation was also seen in Tiananmen Square massacre. The government does not even hesitate to deceive its citizens in order to maintain the party`s rule over the country.
She stole an opportunity for older gymnast that had already suffered for years with injuries in 2000. Karma got her back for the remainder of her career...she should have realized that.
So, does that mean a 14 year old (He Kexin) can be 16 when she has only been alive 14 years? Perhaps China's custom of CHEATING is the custome they are using.
yeah i mean she certainly looks more mature than some of the 2008 chinese gymnasts. I would not have supsected her to be underage by her looks. Oh well :)
Her boyfriend was very disappointed that Paul Hamm wasn't able to compete. He wanted to show the world that he could win against the best competition and not event finalists.
visited your website. Obviously, you just want to make money out of these Chinese girls. You suck as much as Amerian "peace making troop" in Afganastan and Iraq. I hope you and your country get what you deserve.
Um, can you explain to me how I'm making money off this? Cause really, I'd like to know, since I've actually spent money to make this video and get it ready, yet I haven't seen a single cent back.
But then again, maybe that's because I don't make all my decisions based on how I'll get something out of it for myself.
lukus72, did you watch the video? This interview was done in 2007. No one's saying she was 14 in 2007, SHE'S saying she was 14 at the Olympics in 2000. Let's do the math!
So 14 in 2000, that's 2000-14=1986: that must be her birth year!
2007-1986=21: that's how old she was when this interview was done! Whereas if she was 16 in 2000, she'd be 23 during the interview. Which one sounds better for where she is in college?
Bottom line, she says she was 14, not me. That's what makes it "bulletproof".
This is just downright embarrassing. Huge loss of both mianzi and lian here for China. I'm predicting this forum will be overloaded with chinese propaganda messages within the next day.

"Yang Yun, why do you suffer and get so many injuries time after time"? (quoting the mother). Because you allowed the Chinese Government to fuck her up...THAT'S why.
I have a couple of questions for people familiar with Mandarin and Chinese dating (not the romantic kind)
1) When Yang Yun say's she was "14" at the time, can we assume she's using Western dating ("0" years at birth), or Chinese ("1" yr old at birth) dating? In that case, was Yang Yun actually 13 by Western dating?
2)What is the exact translation of the "13 yr gymnastic career" phrase? I feel that there must be something lost in translation, because she can't have started training at age 1?
1) There's no real way we can decipher for certain whether she was using Western dating or traditional Chinese.
2) This is a misunderstanding I'm hearing a lot. It states in the video that she retired in 2003, not when the photo was taken in 2000.
She was 14 in 2000, meaning she was born in 1986. She retired in 2003, when she was 17. Her career lasted 13 years, meaning she started training at age 4 - too young for training to be physically safe, which is why the age rule was established.
About the difference in the lunar (Chinese) and solar (Western) calendar: There is some difference, but the difference cannot be so much as two years. The lunar calendar year is shorter than the solar calendar year. So now and then the lunar calendar will get adjusted by adding an extra month (intercalary month).
@HeatherShowDotCom no, for gymnastics, 4 is fine. Some even start earlier, age of 3. For instance, a girl on the American team started at 3. If you start too much later, you'll lose your flexibility.
That wasn't the reason why the age rule was established for gymnastics.
