  • u did gr8 I love how you made the horse go when it almost stopped

  • thats not that bad

i have been rolled on top of before

  • @22HoofBeats

I couldn't agree more! I was taught to use the crop only when the house didn't respond to my legs, it is fine to use a crop when riding. I don't understand why people say its not allowed or whatever..

  • Oh, and also all of these people saying "Dont use a crop" and "why did you HIT your horse" blah blah blah. Go away! You are allowed to use a crop! I have never been told not to! Maybe your riding instructor is different (obviously!) But no need to criticize! oh BTW.. you ARE allowed to use the crop on the shoulder. because that is where almost EVERYONE starts off! It IS more effective behind the riders leg. but it is not compulsory!

  • Hellooo! I was wondering. could I use this in my video? I would give you credit! :)

  • @22HoofBeats Go for it

  • Ouch! I hope you were okay.. although I sort of know you werent! So sorry to hear that you lost your confidence! It would be hard to get back on.. but maybe you could just spend time with horses??!! :)

All the rude comments.. go away?! :) <3 Thanks

@1nikomi How do you know she is a beginner???!!

  • @22HoofBeats Im all good now but it really did knock my confidence alot! I agree with you that all the nasty comments should go away!!!! <3 x

  • I think your a great rider and I'm sorry about the jump :(

Im glad your jumping again xx

  • @9GoldenEagle9 Thank you :) x

  • omg bless you!! hope your okay now, and that is one honest pony! after you fall it just stands there!!x

  • @katiezxo Gizmo is such a dude :P x

  • This was just sad... It doesn't matter if it is your first time riding this horse, as for pc, you often have to switch to unknown horses. and i rode a horse today that i have never riden, and jumped him, and ould stay in position and keep with him. If I was you, I would've not taken this ride, since you are obviously a beginning rider!

  • @1nikomi your not up yourself at all are you?

  • @MrDobby12345 What?

  • ouch, don't worry we all lose are confidence, no one is gonna make fun of that, its really good that your back out there! hope you were okaay after that x

  • @Rachelle027569 I'm all good now :) x

  • That's what she gets for having to smack the horse over every jump

  • everyone in the background's like, ooohhhhh is she okay? whisper whisper

  • lovely horse <3

  • @lola1234116 Thankyou :D xx

  • My trainer always said "If you don't fall off then you're not riding enough" Every time you fall is a learning experience. Glad you gained your confidence back though! Always gotta get back in the saddle :)

  • @kjackson2277 I like that :D I will keep telling myself that I think :P x

  • i love how the people just stood around and looked at you for the longest time... good times

  • @jumpingdreamify aha xx

  • I used to jump but not anymore I do western now hope u are feeling better get well soon

  • @breyerloverforever56 I'm all good :) x

  • you poor love, that looked painful, beautiful pony there.

I hate jumping, it terryfies me and i havnt even fallen off doing it!

  • @Spelbound13 Thank you gizmo is amazing :P xx

  • @tinkersboyandhanni I still think you did a wonderful job!

  • Aw you were doing so well. Glad you're jumping again, I fell off a few times but it didn't knock my confidence. Although I got bitten by a horse once on my shoulder so it was badly bruised for a week and since then I'm scared to go close to horses I don't know. :/

  • @MrsPokerfacex0 Ouch!! That sounds painfull!!!

  • @tinkersboyandhanni It was quite painful. He's quite an aggressive horse when he's in the stall so as soon as I turned my back to him he bit me.

  • Wow.... I've had wayy worst falls. I know it was scary, but no reason to loose your confidence! Good riding tho, try not to put so much of your weight in your hands. (:

  • wow i'm glad your ok now! just a little tip NOT critism i don't want to sound mean but when you smacked him on the line at 0:54 , hitting him behind the saddle is a lot more effective. and maybe not as hard. but other than that you guys looked great until the fall. i'm glad your ok! :)

  • @ThrillOfRiding Okay I will git it ago :) thank you :) xx

  • i had the same accident 2 years ago except mine wasnt as serious as urs :( im sorry ik how hard it hurts and its always hard to get back up. im jumping again too :) my advice would be to ride an experienced school jumping horse to get your confidence up :) thats what i did and it really helped :) i hope you are getting better too!

  • Im sorry you fell :( My horse Ody and I were jumping a jump like this : lXl and he freaked I held on for about 5 seconds after he went over it and I couldn't hang on anylonger so I fell and hurt my back.....

    Before the jump

"Good boy!!! I know you can do it!"

    neigh! SPAZ! scary jump!!!!

    THUD

Ody: "Mom??? Where'd u go? Mom???"

me: (sighs and starts to cry- but stops- goes over to ody and give him a kiss) " Ody I love you- u know that?? But I don't want to eat dirt again u silly boy!"

  • I learnt this exact lesson the hard way as well. You were leaning forward into your two point a bit too early and got ahead of the horse. but good girl for regaining your confidence in the end. I was showing at spruce meadows, and my horse was big, the turn was too small for him and he refused the jump and i flew off onto it, i lost my confidence for a long time, but it takes falling off to get stronger and better! :)

  • For those people who are giving her a hard time try to think of how you would feel. She's probably not been jumping for very long and still lacks confidence. It seems like she did get injured fairly badly so I understand why she's having some issues getting over it. I agree it doesn't LOOK bad but it was clearly a traumatic experience for her to go through. Plus, the worst fall I've personally ever had was only over a 3ft oxer and I'm accustomed to jumping 4'6 and up!

  • gorgeous horse!!

  • wow that was todaly your falt and i hade worst falls then that and i got up and started laghing realy

  • @zya379 leave her alone trust me it was a bader than it looks (i was there)

  • Some people are silly. Everyone has different mentalities and levels of confidence. Some people (me included) think falling off is the most fun thing ever. Others dread it. Others arern't bothered.

  • @AmalamCooper You are cordially invited to ride my psychotic mare :-) We call her the "Bone Breaker".

  • @AmalamCooper Haha she's the "project" horse that's away at training now. She's tough cause she was abused before she was taken in by a horse rescue. I have others that are rideable, though and I do agree with you. When I fall the only thing I can think of is getting back on and proving to myself that I can, actually, do what I was trying to do! I even broke my wrist after one fall while showing and didn't even realize it till I was back in the stabling area.

  • that isnt showjumping. showjumping is like 5 ft. just sayin

  • @ilovelady7 um. not quite love.

  • @ilovelady7 I agree AmalamCooper Show jumping can be any height!

  • @ilovelady7 No....upper level showjumping is 5 feet and up. Officially U.S. showjumping goes from .80meters (2'7'') up to 1.55meters (approx. 5'1'') with spreads of up to 5'6". Triple bars can be a bit higher at up to 6 feet. If you're talking FEI, the jump heights start at 1.50m (4'11"). Hope that helps.

  • @ilovelady7 u dont know much about sj do u?

  • loooooool at all the people saying how could you lose your confidence?

haha how pathetic. okay so im jumping 1.20+ courses and you need a lot of confidence, and i agree the onlu time i lost my confidence is when i was taken to hospial, but everyones different.

    hope youre okay now.<3

    PS... where is this? x

  • @ShowJumperBabeXxX Thanks yh I am okay now :) Its at chesfield Manor :)

  • you are a brillliant rider , that happend to me i fell off and to have stitches but im fine now and i enter shows all the time i guess it was your bad day like me x

  • Its okay, we all get refusals.. But watch your hands.. Thats what made him refuse at that jump.

  • was rather funny i must say. glad you got back up there!! :)

  • ur horse is handsome ...i love gypsy vanners

  • How can you loose your confidence after that tiny jump. Ive had alot of much worse falls and yet I still jump straight back on.

  • post an updated vid of u riding! im glad u decided to keep riding! u r great!

  • Oh hunny :(

Okay so here is what I saw a lot of inconfidence issues that the horse was feeling. You needed more two point you yanked on her poor mouth and you didnt have a lot of contact with her.. Im glad your ok now and back to things

  • I think you was doing well! I just think you thought he was guna go and the refusal took u by suprise and u were already in jumping position! :-) i had a bad fall a few moths back (vids on my channel) i was just schooling and my horse did a real unexpected buck and threw me straight off, never has he done it before and he hasnt done it since! Its knocked my confidence but im getting there now x

  • you did great until the fall

  • Ouch :/ it's good your jumping again!!!

Could i use this in a horse falls video ? , i will give you full credit :)

  • @brittanyeld1 Indeed you can as long as you send me the link :D x

  • Don't let these nasty critiques let you down hun. I understand about show jitters, and I know that you were nervous. You were two-pointing a little too less, but other than that, you were really good! I'm glad that you got back up to jumping and competing again! :D

  • You honestly did not look that bad but I don't know the horse so this is purely from my outside judgement but it almost looks as though the horse doesn't want to jump.

  • u shouldn't let this knock your confidence i am glad u got back on and continued riding xx

  • Well done, you were amazing, every horse and rider has his it hers faults, and obviously this horse had one, so leave her alone, she obviously tried her best, don't go nagging on and on, she obviously know whats she's doing or she wouldn't be doing show jumping and competitions..

  • @Ilovehorses149 Thank you :D xx

  • you need to use abit more leg when going over the jumps. my horse is a terrible one for stopping if u don't have enought leg. i fell off xc last yr, and broke my ankle in half, but i learnt from my mistake nd got straight back on after ankle healed :) just practise makes perfect! :D x

  • @laura4starmist Okay :) xx

  • @dapplerose1 she wasn';t sitting all of them, I admit some she was sitting but there were some she was 2 pointing, she was not terrible

  • were you unconcious or too hurt to get up?

  • @Equestriangirl11209 I was out for a few seconds i think I dont really remember much to be honest xx

  • @DappleRose1 she's not bad! it was a SHOW and most people r nervous at shows anyway. so what if she was a bit a stiff? it takes a while to get used to showing and some people (even the best riders) don't ride as good as usual in shows. every1 falls sometime and at least this wasn't a really bad one. she didn't look like crap at all 2 me. she rewarded the horse over all the fences and at least she didn't hurt his mouth wen she got into 2 point.

  • @peacebeauty101 He kinda looks like a Cob too

  • the pony just walked off, all innocent, ;) <3

  • ya got to keep going missy keep jumping

  • @horsefanatic2 Ahaha I am :) Im back jumping and competing again :P xx

  • What breed is this horse? He sorta looks like a gypsy vanner

  • @peacebeauty101 Indeed he his :D x

  • you croped the poor boy so loud you could hear it thats why he stoped he lost confidence

  • @horselover3901 Yeah I agree

  • omg are you ok. I used to go to cheslfield i rode Teddy and Heidi alot

  • jumpin' isnt as easy as it looks. not being nasty but keep your heals down toes up and try to keep your hands still and you will do alot better and stay on if your horse does a refusel. on the bright side i love the colour of your horse

  • ouch, u OK? u culd actually hear the thud when u hit the floor =(

  • @ShowJumper123Jess Yh I was kinda ok :) and and yh it was a rather loud thud :(

  • @tinkersboyandhanni ya, it must of left u a bruise im guessing =(

  • ouch x.x if that was me id say "oi, that smarts . . ."

  • omg gypsy vanner 8DDD

  • I bet that hurt and It looked like 1 person only cared about the horse u were great over the other jumps even that guy behind the camera said is that the one she was worried about

  • your not a proper rider until youve falled off a horse 7 times..... get knowock down and get back on. xxx, o know the feeling

  • I understand the pain you might've been in, but trust me when I say this: Thats NOTHING compared to some of the falls I've had :L

  • I just love how when she falls off the people just walk really slowly over to her I mean I would have walked way faster!! Also what if she was really really hurt? You also need to post and go into your two point

  • You really need some good lessons! I am sorry but the jumps are tiny! My 3 year old sister jumps bigger! Just relax and get a good teacher!

  • It was good except the fall but u need to relax more horses get scared if u don't relax

  • im sorry u fell, but that was just horrible riding, i dont mean to say that because u had a very trust worthy horse horse but yea, gotta go into 2 point, and relax a little bit :) a horse can always feel tence up, but nice round ^^

  • Yep! It happens! Every good rider falls of once!

  • just noticed u hardly went forwards on the jumps i am not the perfect rider but I just wanted 2 say its probs an age ago and ur betta anyway :) ouch btw

  • Unless you want him to slow down or stop, briefly pull on the reins. If not, ease up on the reins, no horse likes tight reins.

  • some people give her a break 'you looked like crap' woee. Just becuase you say that, She's not olympic style, and not everyone is perfect, Give her some space. I hope your okay. It wasn't all the horses fault no, the rider takes a big part in it too. But if you want to give some helpful crit you dont go round calling people'crap'.

  • Next time give him a bit of a slap with the wimp going around the corner so he knows to go over it. But great riding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

  • @MrPikaLover Ta :) xx

  • bad fall glad ur ok tho <3

  • Im just glad your jumping again.

  • Gorgeous Horse . ! But I Didnt See Any Two Point . ?

  • i have fallen 36 times and the only time i didnt get right back on was when i blacked out and went to the hospital. honey, you need to buck up

  • thats the gayest fall ever ! how could you lose confidence over that.... really pathetic i think hahaha cute horse though

  • @tinkersboyandhanni Great to know you haven't given up. Keep practising and you'll get there I promise. The amount of times I've had falls like this I should have given up years and years ago. I've been thrown onto jumps, into ditches filled with stinging nettles and I've had a horse land on top of me when I've been out hacking on the road. But I'm still nutty as ever and haven't given up on my dream ;) Keep up the riding and don't let anyone get you down! x

  • OOH! Gypsy Vanner! ANyways i was at a show riding my pony Blue i was training when that exact fall happened to me! My dad got it on camera but deleted it so i cant show it

  • gypsy vanner :D....i miss mine, i use to own two, Bathsheba and Boadicea.......everyone makes mistakes hope you got back in the saddle

  • i LOVE this horse... btw that was a nasty fall , were you okay ¿?

  • You only run out of chances when you stop taking them :) If you love show jumping, go for it.

Equestrianism is a life worth risking.

  • Glad to hear you're jumping and okay! Nicely done for never doing a show w/ the pony. Even though he ducked out, he seemed to be an honest pony for standing there after you fell. (My pony would have ran off or sought for food xD)

  • I know nothing about jumping... because i ride western, your riding didn't look that bad to me... I'm just glad you're okay :)

  • You don't need to be an amazing show jumper to go round a course, She is quite blatantly a good rider and so is her pony. You can loose your confidence in any way, so saying 'OMG it's only a refusal' is just a petty comment. :L

  • Dont listen to these people. I think the biggest mistake MOST riders make is to 2 point WAYYYY too much. These are little jumps on a stocky pony. Yes, you were stiff, but thats typical nerves for you. Theres always time to improve and all of these posts are fresh when this video is 2 flipping years old. Guys, get off her back, leave her alone, and move on. Thanks ;)

  • I'm sure I saw you at trailblazer champs this year? Sorry if it wasn't you lol! Good riding here though!

  • @100Flashy Heya and naaaa I was not riding :P and Thank you :D xx

  • No offense but that wasnt a massive fall............

  • @MyHorsieFlame she could have landed on her head... it doesn't have to be huge to hurt like hell..

  • All my other point have already been made but there is one more.

This horses structure in not suitable for jumping..

  • I am sorry you fell, but the horse refusing the jump was your fault. You were riding terrible, and you REALLY need to do 2 point when you jump. you were just sitting straight up over the jump, and You looked like crap. You held your hands way up when the horse jumped, and the only reason the horse refused is because you got ahead of him.

  • @DappleRose1 Thank you.

  • @DappleRose1 don't make her feel bad, if that was the way she learnt to ride then leave her alone, it wasn't the horses or the riders fault, every horse will refuse a jump.

  • I hope you were ok, its good to hear your jumping again. Must of been a wee accident. Gorgeous horse by the way!!!:D x

  • @DappleRose1 OH PLEASE SHUT UP. Listen, its obvious she is riding a green pony, one that likes to duck out. But keeping her butt a little more in the saddle and really keeping them straight and ballanced through her hands, legs, and seat, she was trying her best to keep the pony going. She did need to get her hands down though, is the only comment I agree with

  • @DappleRose1 There's such thing as constructive friendly criticism and then there's down right arrogance and rudeness. You don't know this pony nor this rider. How do you know that this pony does not have a bucking/bolting problem, therefore you wouldn't always necessarily go into the 2 point position when going over the jump. Think twice before posting next time, your rudeness could really damage someone's confidence.

  • @DappleRose1 Aren't you a class act. I suppose in your world everyone rides perfectly. Are you so brain dead that you can't see this is a young rider in the early stages of learning. Give her a break...you moron!

  • @DappleRose1 not everyone needs to do 2 point, its an american thing and not many people in england are taught it! you shouldn't really say she looks crap just because she doesn't do 2 point... thats not fair.

  • @DappleRose1 way to give her confidence.

  • @DappleRose1 Thank you for saying exactly what I'm thinking. 2-point is bending at the waist and giving the horse rein to jump, not standing in your saddle and holding the reins up. That refusal was bad, yes, it has happened to me before but, it is not like you fell onto the jump with your back, you hit your leg. Don't be dramatic, jeez.

  • @DappleRose1 I agree with some of your pointers, like she wasn't two-pointing enough on some of the jumps, but you shouldn't insult someone when they took a big spill. You should maybe say this in a gentle way and cut the cuss words. :)

  • Wow you are very lucky it was'nt anythink serious!! Well it as but atleast you where wereing a body protector so you would'nt of broken you back or anythink! I was extremely lucky when I had a HORRIBLE fall off my friend pony....She did a full pelt buck...I did a frunt flip in the air and landed on my back really hard.....i was'nt wearing a body protector at the time..But I was EMTREMELY EXTREMELY lucky Im not in a wheel chair today....From that day on I ALWAYS were a body protector when jumping

  • When you fall of a horse brush yourself off and get back on again:)well when the time is right!!

  • awhh i saw this happened..it look really painful..hope you was ok after tho :) x

  • Anyone that had rode at the upper level or with and upper level trainer or Olympic rider knows thatthe first thing they will do if you are not carry a crop is tell you that you should get use to one as there may be a day you need it.

Glad to hear your up riding again. I had a fall like this ride before I may ehte US Army Equestrain Team and that fall chanced my life.

  • What a Good little pony to not run away. He just stood there.

  • Would be interested to see what you're like now. You could tell you were tense and stiff and therefore your horse would have picked up on it. But practice makes perfect :)

  • @PerfectionistsSarah Hello if you click on my channel there a many videos since this accident :)

  • I love how they just walk over to her casually like nothing happened

  • hey i dont want to sound like a complete bitch but first off if you are riding and traing at a reliable stable with good trainers and horses then you shouldnt have to use a "crop " (its not called a whip ) and your trainer should of taught you not to get ahead of your self when jumping your suppose to let the horse take you over the jump. i been riding and showing since i was 4 i am now 24. thats why the horse stop suddenly its because you got ahead of the horse lose the crop

  • @TheStaranderson agreed

  • @TheStaranderson At the time of this I was at a DIY yard with no trainers so I had to learn with my friends and on my own. I had never jumped this pony round a course ever. I only rode as when we got to the show the owner my freind was really really ill. So considering I had had no training or help and I had not ridden round a course on this horse before I dont think it was that bad. was it? In the UK we call it a whip not a crop. I always carry one to back up my aids if the horse dont respond.

  • @TheStaranderson I agree. I sometimes carry a crop when riding just so the horse knows its there but as far as I could see, he was doing everything you asked to. Giving him a tap before the jump, he just thought 'oh sod off' its not particularly fair to him. You should use your leg aids a bit more to encourage him rather than the crop :)

  • @TheStaranderson I agree with you but it doesnt matter if you call it a crop or whip... but i always use one... when i jump because its a good backup if you need it.

  • @TheStaranderson she gets ahead of herself on one fence the other's are fine and she's riding a with a 'whip' cuz the very heavy cob is obviously abit lazy towards fences. is this a riding school? if so everyone knows riding school ponies have been ponie clubed to death so are always dead to aids. nice graceful dismount by the way and your other jumps were good. we've all gota start somewhere :) x

  • @TheStaranderson Anyone can call it a crop or a whip, their both correct.

  • @TheStaranderson doesn't matter if you are riding at a reliable stable with good trainers and horses, crops are always a reliable back up source for an aid. Many top riders ride with them, so it doesn't matter how good your trainer is, crops are always used. It can be used as a last resort if your horse doesn't listen to your leg comands, and can save your butt in some instances.

  • @TheStaranderson You obviously don't know much about riding, as yes, she may have to carry a whip, as her pony may need encoraging with it, and I know that I have to carry a whip (not use it, anless I have to) to get my pony to walk, let alone jump. And I don't care if you have been riding for 20 years (I doubt it)

  • I'm just glad you're ok.

  • To all the heartless people banging on about 'yeah so you lost your confidence', 'go buy a decent jumping pony' it wasn't her horse? Yeah of course she lost her confidence im sure you would if you fell off and woke up in hospital? Stop trying to act funny and seriously get a life.

  • Don't worry I lost my confidence as well I was knocked out for a week

  • I'm glad you even tried to jump with a thinker, but let's be honest, they are not really made to jump. Buy yourself a descent jumping horse and try again. You might even like it.

  • So u lost cofindence I've been over the front three times

  • @91520lastar She probably hasnt been riding as long as you, nobody cares how many times youve been over the front, the point is she lost her confidence and bruised herself badly.

  • hey i totally understand this i lost my cofindence also and i know how hard it is to get it back but when we do it feels amazing!!!

  • (español)

Si te sirve de algo un caballo que realmente no te ame no se quedaría ahí haber si estas bien este caballo o yegua te quiere!!!solo se asusto

  • um ow that looks like it hurt that happened to me and i twisted my spline and it hurt

  • you should never use a crop on the shoulder... it does nothing. the crop is a driving aid to back up your leg therefore it should be used behind the leg...not the shoulder, not the haunches but right behind the leg... i'm guessing instead of taking this advice from a horse professional such as myself you're going to get peeved and defensive but that's a risk I'm willing to take. mistakes need to be learned from.

  • nice job befoe th fkk hope u were ok abd te horse just starts to walk off hahaha

  • why did you hit him

  • @marney1998 I did not 'hit' him. I tapped him with my whip on his shoulder as I was going into the triple as this horse does not like fillers. He was not off my leg therefore i backed up my leg with a whip.

  • @tinkersboyandhanni No you were hitting him, more then once too, a tap is a gentle tap on a horses shoulder that someone watching a video shouldn't notice. you were HITTING your pony.

  • @Randyluvx100 She hit him once. If the horse had a problem with it, he would've told her so. She said that he wasn't moving off her leg so the crop was used as a last resort of encouragement. Why are youtubers so damn critical? It's HER video. I think she knows what she did wrong. :L

  • @Randyluvx100 NO she wasnt. I wouldent call that a hit. Id call that a tap.

  • @marney1998 I take it you have no idea how to ride a horse and are a PETA fanatic or somethin?!

  • @marney1998 She didnt hit him she lightly tapped him with the whip because he was not listening to her leg. Please do not say "hit" you make it sound like horse abuse

  • you jumped the triple nicely :)

may i use this in a vid im makin? youll get credit xx
