@dlk300 Like I said Any indirect diesel engine will start like this with no heat!!! Direct injection would start ok with no heat. Your passat has heat so would start first time. Just like this Peugeot would IF the glow plugs was working
Love this 405 My dad had the diesel one they last forever. I must admit your 405 is a good one they do take abit longer to start but diesel do . i love the noisey diesel clatter. its a credit to ya. :)

I was refering to the fact that it WOULD NOT START initially - its not good. Like i said, mine may sound like a pile of wank but it starts first turn of the key everyt ime regardless of weather. Something is not right there. Probably starting on two glow plugs or soemthing.

starts first time, done 151000 miles now, and i have done 50000 of them in a year and half, been all over the uk and france with no problems, this video is showing the car starting from cold!! with NO HEAT!! so you will get the smoke which is unburned fuel, and guess what??
@Richbowker i second that. and truse me fastwunz, you have to remember that this is an indirect injection diesel, harder to start on cold, with or without heat, AND he states without heat. so he does know what hes talking about.
i guess you were starting with no glow plugs or your glow plugs are stuffed. we have two of those cars, (one a 405 and the other a 306) and both i can get to start smokeless but waiting three seconds after the glow plug light goes out then about 1/5 throttle - will fire second revolution using that technique. The problem isnt indirect diesel injection in case, its either stuffed glows or low cylinder compressions. I like your mags on there.
well starting it without the glows being hot will do that. However the engine is quite clearly destroyed so doing that will only make it worse. Mine may be a horrible shite wagon but i love it, and, it starts first time, every time and without fuss - yours needs to die. and fast.
@Fastwunz if you think your "shit wagon" is better than this great pug, i suggest you upload a video to your videoless channel so we can see if you tellin the truth or just trying to put this guy down.

unlike direct injection, Any indirect injection will start like this without any heat,
also it starts first time every time,
