Muslims must live by the laws of the land, so a Muslim in America must obey the American laws. They don't have to like it, just obey it.

I'm an atheist. I want to ban Christianity in some places because I think it promotes bigotry and discourages free-thinking. Therefore, since I don't like the fact that Christian law says I will go to hell, all churches should be banned in places people like me don't want them.

One must always remember that it was written a long time ago and can be interpreted differently by different people, as with all religious texts. I'm an atheist. I want to ban Christianity in some places because I think it promotes bigotry and discourages free-thinking. Therefore, since I don't like the fact that Christian law says I will go to hell, all churches should be banned in places people like me don't want them.
This is why we can't ban places of worship. Because whether or not something is "hurtful" or "beneficial" is completely subject to one's own opinion and bias.

My concern is that Sharia Islamic laws and most of it is in the Koran (And I read the Arabic version, so I know it is there) is extremely ruthless to humanity. How can a religion ever talk of honor killing, killing of non-muslims for the sake of Jihad? I mean come on...Religion is a means to Spirituality...And its full of love, compassion and mercy...No violence or vengeance.

@arjun4787 I respect you responding so eloquently and I completely agree with everything that you have said. I believe in humanity, equality and love. My main issues are the stereotypes and generalizations placed upon Islam. One must always remember that it was written a long time ago and can be interpreted differently by different people, as with all religious texts. As a some1 of the faith I disagree with killings on the basis of religion, it doesn't quite make sense to me.

All faiths profess dogma and rules it's believers have to follow. Simply because Christianity picks and chooses which biblical laws it wants and which it doesn't does not mean all other religious laws, like Sharia, should not be allowed to do the same.
Separation of church and state. Do for one what you would do to all. If you don't like what muslims want to do, keep all holy buildings out of my face.
The thickness of the religious. They can't be fair, their religion blinds them.

i actually have nothing against this idea. i think we SHOULD ban mosques. however, i think we should also extend to churches, temples, synagogues while we're at it!
Instead, we should have science museums and research laboratories....instead of learning about ancient myths for an hour a week; why not learn about math, science or technology?
