    bernstein :)

  • does anyone know where to get a good copy of the sheet music ?

  • @mkakashi1993

    imslp.org/wiki/Piano_Concerto_No.3_(Beethoven,_Ludwig_van)

you will need adobe reader to sheet music files

  • I wish Pogorelic recorded this!

  • too bad he's not coming back to the US...dude can play!

  • Zimerman: Pianist of Awesome.

  • he looks like chuck norris

  • xDDD

  • More like Obi-Wan Kenobi (as stated in another video) who is at least 10 times more awesome than Chuck Norris. (fact)

  • @ixd735 so does half of the orchestra... it´s all chuck. he does such things between lunch and the next woman.

  • his expressions at like 39 seconds in are very neato

  • They were recorded in 1989 3-5 and 1-2 in 1992

  • Love the face at 0:38:))

Love the performance...Can't resist listening to it all over again...IMO Zimerman gives the best performance of Op.37 available on YT:-)

  • i've got arrau's interpretation, and zimerman is infinately better! still for the third movement i don't think anyone will ever surpass the combination of Abaddo and Brendel. simply divine!

  • Beethoven! Oh beethoven!...What kind of most genious infinitively-creative brain of yours is it, that produces such eternal melodies?

  • TGUIOT: when did Zimerman record the Beethoven concerti with Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic in Musikverein???

  • september 1989 for concerti 3 to 5.

    december 1991 for 1 & 2 (zimerman conducts)

  • I think is truly majestic.

  • that "surprised" look at 0:38 is the best

  • @BenSouthwood LOL! He has a very scary expression.

The beard also helps. It's like Guy Fawkes playing the piano!

  • I don't know why people consider this concerto an "Early" Period work; it is highly reminiscent of Beethoven and should belong to the Middle Period.

  • This guy has perfect technique. Great interpretation. I wish i could play it like him.

  • I prefer it a little slower, but great performance even at this tempo!

  • Love to watch Bernstein at around 7:18 looks like he's dancing!

  • ??? it's only 5:00 long.

  • It's a typo.

  • ya, i wonder why those who put videos online dont take their time to properly synchronize it. anyways, very nice performance

  • 2 reasons: first i'm not a professional of video editing. second, desynchronization happens a lot after uploading on youtube, don't know why... this video is synchronized on my computer...

    anyways, enjoy ;-)

  • A pity is a bit unsyncronyzed

  • Its way too sad Zimerman evades any camera now ... I really would like to hear some new records from him.

  • ya, it is, but i don't blame him because he has a family too, if i were him i would do the same thing :)

  • What a performance! Great video. Thanks! Fantastic sound quality.
