There is some truth here. Tibet is a militarily strategic location. It would be to India's advantage to have a buffer in between China, who is or becoming a military super power, just like Russia made Mongolia independent and serve as a buffer. However, looking at what the monks have done in Tibet and what the free-tibet people have done outside Tibet in the past month, will India still prefer a violent monk-run country called Tibet right next to it? Better buy some life insurance first.

It would be to India's advantage to have a buffer in between China, who is or becoming a military super power, just like Russia made Mongolia independent and serve as a buffer. However, looking at what the monks have done in Tibet and what the free-tibet people have done outside Tibet in the past month, will India still prefer a violent monk-run country called Tibet right next to it? Better buy some life insurance first.
