I was lucky enough to see this show in 1980.....I also saw Rogers reincarnation of the wall a few months ago...... the 2011 show was visually mind blowing....but in so many ways the 1980 shows were better....31yrs ago it was Pink Floyd performing The Wall and you were acutely aware that you`d seen a band...in 2011 it was a show......1980`s video technology was obviously shit....It`s hard to believe when watching these vids but the stage was lit...trust me the band did`t play in near darkness.

Waters wrote most of the chord progressions and came up with the majority of the themes by himself. He wrote "The Wall" and "Animals" almost entirely by himself. All the parts with rhythm guitar, like this song here? He did that. The bass player had to play rhythm guitar because all Gilmour was good for is soloing.

And Gilmour's guitar playing/solos was a major part of Floyd's sound. Pink Floyd would not be the same without Gilmour. DSOM is evidence to this.

Wright contributed to it and I'm sure Dave did here and there, but the majority of the creativity came from Waters.

I also can't imagine Roger playing the guitar outro to Comfortably Numb or the start of Run or the end of Sheep or any part of Dogs! There was a Waters-less Floyd. Wrote some great songs as it goes. Each member of floyd played their part, to try to say otherwise is ridiculous. Richard Wright wrote the music for GGITS and Us and Them. Imagine DSOTM without those songs!

Waters was the artistic brains of floyd from DSOTM on. He came up with the ideas, the majority of songs, lyrically and musically and the concept of each album. Also, if it hadn't been for Gilmour singing on DSOTM and WYWH they wouldn't have been so popular. Let's face it
