  • PLEASE RESPOND ASAP: My laptop can turn on, and buy it doesn't display anything. Is it overheated? I'm not a laptop pro sorry.

  • @coolalvin00 your screen might be broken use a monitor you should have a slot to plug a dvi cable to your laptop if you can get the monitor to display the laptop then its your screen that needs replacing.

  • or you have a cooling base with 2 fans and its fine..i have the ''oven'' of latops, pavilion dv7 and its works fine..

  • GOTO MY CHANNEL TO FIX AN OVERHEATING LAPTOP !!!!

  • Cleaning dust out will not help as much as one would think. If you really need to get it cooled down, Remove the shitty thermal grease off the processor and put some arctic silver 5 on it.

  • how to fix an overheating laptop : HAMMER

  • HP = Handicap PC

  • Dont try this at home kid lol

  • dude...this vid is bad....like real bad. those ribbon cables that "slide" out. yea they have clips on the sides so you don't rip them "sliding" them out. here's a good vid for those of you that are interested. watch?v=WLQ98LwNUKI&feature=related . like this so this could be at the top so people don't break their valuable computers cause of these guys.

  • you missed out two essential parts - the 3 screws under the battery and the centre screw where the hard drive is. Which HOLD the keyboard in place from underneath, so of course, now the 3 screws under my battery are held in place by broken and split plastic, nice job. Hopefully others won't make this mistake, but it certainly explains the high volume of DISLIKES that this video has gathered.

  • Great video. Why in the world are there so many dislikes. Just one thing anyway to mention. You really need to loosen the ribbon cables with the tiny notches on both ends of the port on each and every port that the ribbon plugs into. If you don't you could damage them or the ribbon. Their should be no resistance when removing the ribbons.

  • u should not push air on the fan so it spinns.... put something small in there first so it stays fixed and then spray air on

  • Don't you get back voltage from the fan acting as a generator by not keeping it stationary when blowing it off?

  • @adracamas lol just what i was thinking... made a comment b4 i saw this :)

  • @adracamas nah, it's brushless...

  • anyway to clean it WITHOUT removing keyboard & powerbar?

  • does anyone have an idea ofwhat happens when you use compressed air on the fan without being disconnected from the motherboard,

I can tell very bad idea.

as soon as the fan is spinning it is generate power

  • @TheInComLive you are absolutly correct, it will start generating dc voltage, how much, is unknown, unless you attach a multi meter

  • may be because you get "entertained" looking for helping videos at you tube to fix the POS...!!!

  • @cdnLEE the best laptop of hp whitch it doesnt overheats easy is probook 4520s, they builded it very good and its cheap

  • @cdnLEE I have the same one. Always shutting itself down because of overheating. Sent it in because the fan melted off the spindle.... still over-heats.

  • I have this same shit laptop. I'm not even going to bother. Switching to the JP Folio Ultrabook.

  • I hope the "engineer" does not scratch the floor with his spurs!

  • peace of cake

  • U destroyed a key! First f5 and later also the f5 button! I will never fix my laptop in your way!

  • @TheBasscompany you missed the bit where you get a glass for all the bits that fall off and that are left over!!!

  • Where does the dust go?

  • Use an air compressor with common sense and no need to remove anything.

  • What kind of an idiot gives a couple of rednecks their laptop to fix?

  • I have an hp laptop and i haven't used it for like a year. When i turn it on the fan turns on but the screen doesn't show then it turns of in 4 seconds or so. Any tips to fix it?

  • No Offense But HP Laptops Look Like Sh** And Perform Like Sh**.

  • 2:03 you don't want to shake this

  • this is more like how to reduce overheated(before it broke down cuz of it).

  • NOT HELPING

  • not professional! never spray without blocking the fan! you can damage the fan or the whole device. it produces energy if you spin it that fast.

  • Installing the Nozzle is tough to do,

  • its a hp pavilion dv6500

  • First of all this guy is a moron has no idea how to properly fix the heating issue its actually common with these laptops (DV series) they tend to overheat do to only having one heatsink for both the CPU and GPU .

  • you could have changed the keyboard too xD..

  • This Is A 6735s Right ??

  • i have HP dv6605us and have to keep an external fan on it constantly to stop from overheating and shutting down, these are notorious for overheating

  • He does not bother to turn it on after. Yea, because it is an HP. Now the last step, now throw it out.

  • >.> why did 209 people hates do they have a 6735s ¬.¬ this is by far the most fucking simple way to do it.

  • bro i have the feeling that you do it everyday

  • Was this an HP laptop, cuz it looks like the cq63 chassis

  • @eivis13 Well I Have a Hp G60 & it Overheats as Well.xD

  • will this void the warranty?

  • @Bransoncoopste123 Oh, you betcha!

  • Thanks for your clean out video.

  • Why did you have to take the harddrive out?

  • @Waqarmannan where you watching the video muted? he explained it, harddrives don't take well to getting shaken that's why you'd want to take them out

  • @ookamifuyu No I heard him, but why does it even need to be opened. Well anyway I did they entire thing without needing to take the harddrive out, as it was firmly in place anyway.

  • @Waqarmannan oh, yeah, i think it was because you wouldn't want it in the machine when you turn it around, but i guess if it was firmly in it, it's not a problem

  • I found a way to fix problems with HP laptops! Checkout my video!

  • I always wanted to know how to fix a laptop by a couple of rednecks.

    Gosh.

Thankfully all three of the fans on this laptop are very easy to access. Just remove 6 screws and clean the bastards out. No need to pull out the HDD, keyboard, motherboard, or so on.

It always seems like HP is the only PC outlet not jerking off with their products. Hats off to you HP. Now if only we could work on that heat issue. :-)

  • @autonomous2010 HP laptops are really, really hard to clean. At least in my experience.

  • @rendros88 I must have been lucky then because the last two HP laptops I purchased were really really easy to clean out the fans. Then again I pay a Lot of money for my laptops so maybe that's why they take the extra consideration.

  • @autonomous2010 I bought an HP laptop that cost me $1200 a few years ago. In order to get to the fans, I had to disassemble the whole machine.

  • @rendros88 Damn! That sucks.

  • I love how the keyboard looses a few keys during this demonstration...

doesn't mean I didn't use this video to take my laptop apart, just be careful, you can do it.

  • this has to be one of the worst computer videos i have ever seen because he dos not explain him self very well at all. its all just grab this grab that he dont tell ya what cables or leads are for or how inportant they are to the laptop.

  • is it ok that i dropped my hard drive in a bowl of water and it dosent work

  • Where can i get that small fan from???

  • Just use your vacuum on your fan under your laptop lol, suck out all the excess dust

  • @twiggyrage don't ever use a vacuum... you can get static charges that will fry your motherboard

  • How can i fucking clean my fan while using my pc to watch this video!? D: (This is a joke for any idiot that might not understand the meaning of sarcasm.)

  • You people are charging people for this? You have no clue what is causing the overheating. Not a dirty fan but a CLOGGED COOLER on the inside. No wonder the dislikes are well over the likes on this. Gees this is why people have a distrust for people in the repair business.

  • What is the machine that blows air I am very afraid that I can not reply after opening

  • compressed air might not be a good idea for some laptops as it will blow the dust in. open your laptop and get a clean, dry cloth.

  • şerefsizler resmen ızdırap çektiriyorlar kulanıcılara, gitmiş fanı ebesinin şeyine koymuş,oraya kadar sökecek olsam kaldırır laptopumu çöpe atarım,her markada her modelde dört tane vida bi tane kapak söküp temizliyorsun, hpde bin tane vida ikibinbeşyüz tane kapak söküp temizleyemiyorsun bile...

  • An air compressor works wonders as well for those that have access to them.

Used this last evening on a vintage Gateway Laptop and it runs very cool and quiet now. No disassembly required.

  • Yes because everyone places there hardrive right next to maggots , I think you need to take a look , the rest of the world doesn't live like you !

  • Hmm... if you have a heat problem, the dust _on the fan itself_ is the least of your problems.. usually the big thing is chunk of dust outside the fan, where he's blowing, or even in the heatsink, or lots of hair on the axis of the fan. That stuff doesn't come out just by blowing at the fan a bit..

  • I think is better than you just write the steps and cut the talking cuz your voices are fcking annoying

  • Does not appear sure of him self and he is doing this, not sure I would follow his directions or hire him to repair MY computer

  • Heatsink, that's what it's called, not heatsync

  • @Orbiter144 Actually in a laptop the heatsink is the block on top of the CPU or northbridge. The whole assembly from the heatsink to the cooling fins is called the heatpipe. Transfers heat by conduction from the heatsink block to the cooling fins.

  • @rhblakeman Ok? Like i didn't know that?

I was commenting the title of the film, where it says HeatSYNC instead of Heatsink. not anything else. Maybe you replied to the wrong comment?

  • @Orbiter144 Nope right reply but I see what you were doing after all. Doesn't matter though because the people that posted the title will continue to spell it wrong. Sort of like people around here that say they have something "for sell" and they want to "sale" you something or people that constantly use to/too incorrectly.

  • Compaq/HP make fucking impossible laptops to clean. You have to take apart so much of it to get to the fan, it's such a scam. Useful vid.

    They're called jeweler's screwdrivers, btw.

  • stop saying pry. it's anoying.

  • This model of compaq is the same one i have, almost all of them have a heatsink dislodged I had to fix that then it worked like a normal laptop should.

  • @YourHowToChannel Every time You say pry, God kills a cat.

  • this guide is pure bullshit. kill yourself

  • its funny that i had the same one with the same problem. tryed to do 3d animation with it, it broke =). My new pc i built has 8 gigs of ram ( getting more ) i7 2600 and a p8p67-m motherboard and a 1 gig video card

  • That laptop has been recalled after four years!!

  • @Nanostarification no just the battery

  • OR....you can go to the gas station use the aircompressor and clen it -.- without problems!!

  • looks a lot like my HP Dv6276

  • @DerEngelDesTodes Ok so its safe to use one of those? cuase i dont wanna fuck anything up in my pc lol

  • because that looks so easy =)

  • He should be keeping the fan from spinning because you can actualy destroy the bearings inside the fan, the way hes going about it :/

  • yeeeehaw boys lets watch some nascar

  • did anyone stop watching when you realize the title had the word "heatsync" in it?

  • He said dont have the harddrive next to magnets... Yet hes got a magnetic screwdriver...

  • @topdogtyler1 The screwdriver is not that magnetic to do damage to the HD, it is just enough to lift a tiny screw and only has effect while touching the screw, as you can see.

  • I thought I was going to try this and fix my laptop, when they start taking out all the other parts. I changed my mind. This is not for average everyday folks who use computers..

Don't be cheap...just pay to get it done...it will benefit you more in the long run.

  • Comment removed

  • This laptop is bullshit. Don't buy it because after like 4 years they recall the battery after like millions of mother boards are fried by the computer.

  • So what kind of laptop is that?

  • hey guys, i folled all these instuctions and when i put my laptop back together some of the keys arent working, what do i do?

  • What a pair of bell-ends!!! I wouldn't trust these two to tie my shoelaces. Cowboys 'R' us...YeeeeHaaaaa!! Dicks!

  • hi can someone tell me i just took apart my laptop and it back together now and running fine but i replaced the old crusty thermal stuff in between the heat sink and the cpu with arctic silver 5 and there was a very light green pad of thermal Greece i think its called on another platform on the heat sink to the right of the cpu platform i replaced that with arctic silver 5 too and i was wondering was i supposed to do that???? please someone help

  • @unknownplayer03 Yes it is ok. If it had thermal paste on it, then the Arctic Silver is ok to put there. I have replaced thermal grease on laptops and desktops from green to pink to thermal pads and regular thermal grease. Just remember a little dab will do ya. Spread it out evenly and as smooth as possible with out going all the way to the edge or over. The pressure when you screw down the holders will spread it out more.

  • What a crock of shit, you have to disassemble the complete fan assembly and motherboard on an HP Pavilion dv6700 to get out the dust and dirt that gets sucked in there by the fan,

    Lightweights !

  • Dont ever tilt the compressed air. Tilt it too much and liquid nitrogen will spray out and mess up the internals.

  • they are so fucking louddddddddddddddddddddd!

  • yeah you dont have to take apart the computer too do that, and if you are why not take the whole heat-sink out and clean that?

  • no way

  • I followed this video and it just FUCKED UP my computer and hard drive!!!

    Thank for nothing.

This is not a safe video.

  • im terrified to do this!!

  • if you want to destry your computer just follow do whatever you see on this video....

  • every time he says "pry'' it makes me cringe

  • nope i guess mine can just keep running hot.... i got an external fan im not worried

  • lolol

  • hahaha no way im doing this.

  • Oh FUCK no! I am NOT doing this.

  • i got exactly same computer but i wont try this... i think ill go to the shop.

  • you dont just "pull out" ribbon connectors, there are little knobs on the side that u kinda pull foward to loosen them... they totally cut out the footage of that part lol

  • You know they make it look so easy. But when you try it your like, What the hell did he just say 5 seconds ago. Seriously, don't follow this. You'll end up jacking up your laptop. I so confused on why he's taking every little think apart. Just unscrew the plate where the fan is and spray compressed air. Why do I have to take the keyboard out? Man your talking so fast like we now it by heart. Slow down a bit a maybe I can understand what your saying.

  • This guy is a moron, if the hard drive isn't currently running it's not that fragile, i know people who have hit them with a bat and they fly 30 yards and they still work, personally hard drives are very strong as long as they aren't on, and if you have the laptop off, they aren't spinning so you can set them down, least of my worries when i take a laptop apart

  • this sucks ,u dont have to open ur entire laptop ,2 clean ur fan ! I have clean my laptops many times ,but with out now takin out any parts... battry out, open carrefuly were the fan is and take all the rubish out ,then blowit with the air... after this let the laptop close 4 at least 30 minutes (the air/gas frozes the parts)

  • The man on the video sounds like Randy from My Name Is Earl!

  • I've taken apart a laptop for shits and giggles before and you cannot just pry crap off without being extra careful. These instructions are far from being careful.

  • 134 laptops..ruined.
