  • Just finished my first marathon the other day, u guys may have heard of it. It's the run with Donna marathon for breast cancer. Ime 17 and I did o.k 3:28. But I have to tell you, out of all of the races I have done, xc, Ragnar relays from Miami to key west, half marathons, 10ks . That was perhaps the most memorable run I have ever done. Teared us at the finish line lol

  • hahaah this is hilarious to watch, but honestly well done to them all.

  • Worried now 2012 15th April I entred as a joke and got a place.Training is going OK though.

  • I think there are a lot of people that watch this and just don't understand running.Understand one thing about a Marathon. It's all in the training, in the mindset, and the Wall. Every marathon run is different for everyone, just like every run we take is a little different. There are bad days, awesome days, and so-so days. The Wall presents something else entirely, sometimes it's just a passing nudge, other times its an all-out war that some people don't recover from.

  • Running this race is on my bucket list.

  • great video. I know the feeling of both being insanely excited and exhausted at the finish line. I've only done 1 marathon so far, but hopefully I'll be able to experience that feeling again.

  • This reminds me of my first half marathon. I got three steps past the finish line and then fainted. Next thing I remembered was arguing with a doctor saying "YOU WILL NOT put an IV in me until I get that finisher medal!!"

  • There is no greater accomplishment, Amazing!

  • It's so exciting. Makes me want to cry.

  • How do you qualify for the Boston marathon?

  • @tripleMmagic You have to run a qualifying marathon in a certain time limit for your age and gender. One of the challenges that Boston presents is that you train your butt off to meet a time limit... and then you have to continue to train for Boston, which is one of the more difficult marathons in the US.

  • Im confused. If somebody can qualify for boston, shouldn't they be able to finish the run without collapsing?

  • @kg062007 if you were a runner you wouldnt be confused

  • I run 15 miles regularly, still it takes less than an 8 minute pace to even qualify for boston, if someone can keep that pace to qualify they should be able to at least finish slower without collapsing

  • @kg062007 On the face of it, I'd agree with you. But there's two things: 1. We all have our off days. And running a marathon on an off day can really hurt. 2. Boston is very hilly, and the hills HURT. If you qualified on a flat course, and then try Boston without adequate hill training, then yes, you can get torn up a lot more than the race you used for qualifying.

  • @kg062007 obviously you've never ran a marathon. Try it sometime.

  • all im thinking is if some of those people had energy to do cartwheels and pushups etc over the finish line surely they couldve got a quicker time...

  • @earthsbrawler You're almost certainly right. But they looked a lot happier than the people who trashed themselves and crumpled to the ground in need of aid.

  • It's all worth it

  • 12 days before my first marathon. Wondering what kind of end it will be. Thanks for posting this.

  • @fortworthgary

You'll do great! As soon as you cross the line, you'll start planning your next one.
