Do you know what the average living conditions of cattle are in the United States before they get sent to the slaughter house? They are poor.
I can understand if people just don't like to see animals getting abused, but I don't understand why bullfighting in particular gets so much negative attention from people. It's comparatively more humane than a lot of other things that happen to animals all over the world.

This is a "pega de touros" wich is exclusively made in Portugal, not Spain or Mexico. The guy in the front is supposed to hold himself to the bulls head as the other guys try to keep the bull from smashing him against the sides of the arena. In the portuguese bullfights, bulls aren't killed, they actually live the rest of their lifes in the open fields. Still, I don't agree with any kind of animal entertainment.
Anyway, the bulls are killed for fun, so without any reasonable purpose.
AND, they are nearly dead when they enter the arena, so the bullfighters aren't even making a point about about bravery.
Long story short, bullfighting is absolute nonsense.
It doesn't refer to the old days were people were living closer to nature and had to kill animals 'eye to eye' for food, nor does it refer to the modern times, where we learned to respect all life.
@PeterFLOYDIAN I hate bull fighting.... But i feel like i should correct you.. In portugal no blood is taken out of the bull before he enters the arena. That happens in the Spanish bullfightning. We cut a little bit the bull's horns here in Portugal tough.. I don't know which one of this acts is more unfair to the bull tough.
