Andy, this video may be over a year old now, but you prove that age is just a number. The most legendary car being driven once more around Oulton Park by the man who is undoubtedly the most successful BS/TCC driver of all time. It's been absolutely superb to watch the 3 videos of yours. Your Sierras were always brilliantly prepared, (as Tim Harvey testafies in a video where he tests his old Labatt's Car), and the only things missing from this video are Gravett, Soper and Harvey in your mirror!
I am not intending to race the car at the moment, I have no race experience so would be better racing a car of less value and performance. On trackdays you are not allowed to time but I will check the camera footage for a rough idea of lap time improvement. For me it makes the car easier to drive and I need all the help I can get !
Thanks for the interest, this is the first time I have ever used a sequential gearbox. I found the box will not change gear with the accelerator pressed, you just release the pedal for a split second and pull the lever back at the same time, you will notice I get it wrong an odd time. I know many people will not agree with this up-grade but it is a bolt on mod and no holes have been made to do it. The fact is I am not a good enough driver to keep the car on the circuit with the old Getrag box!
Do you keep track of your lap times?? Do you know how much it's improved you time?
And also, are you intending to race the car?? I ask cause that gearbox is atleast 3 grand, probably over 4 grands worth of kit. Thats a hell of a lot of money for a weekend toy.
But I thinks it's a good thing. I know that Andy would have put a Sequential box in it if that had been around back then. Just keeping up with modern tech.
I think its great this car is getting ragged on a regular basis and not in a Museum. Andy loves his car and enjoys driving it hard if that means a sequential box its all good. I know he has kept all the bits so it could go back to original if required.

Do you have to use the clutch with this box? On down shifts or upshifts?

Did you put a shift cut in for "flat shifting"?

@eggfromsywell That car is probably worth 10 times the gearbox lol Which i believe are more like £6K+
Fair play to him for doing it - You're a long time dead!

I would like Andy's comment on the gearbox. These videos are great!
To be a piece of history racing again is amazing!

I love this car and the videos, but putting a sequential box in it is sacrilege, sorry.
