Absolutely great video, I am on an '05 1200 custom Harley, and am very new to maintaining this bike. What tool do you use in this video to disconnect the negative battery terminal? I've found this to be the most difficult part of servicing this bike; I finally got it off by almost forcing the battery out and using a socket wrench and have since put it on a Battery Tender Jr. with a pigtail.
But the pigtail doesn't fit well under the battery cover, and I'd like to know what I can do to ease the pain to me and the bike. I can only ride every once in a while, and the battery tends to drain between rides. Any ideas from people that have solved this problem?
Hey great video! Just one question... on a stock bike will i need to re map or adjust the ECU if i disconect the battery? will disconecting it change any setting on the EFI?
@UNDEADoCROWS I have a 1999 sporty that I bought brand new. It currently has 78,000 miles on it and have done nothing other than regular maintenance. Thats pretty reliable in my book!! Oh replaced the drive belt at 63,000, it broke, lucky for me I was about 3 miles from home.
If you drop your sporty due to stall taking off in 2nd gear..ahem...,you may have busted a magnet on your charger hub and it is a matter of time before your bike will be dead when you come out in the morning.
Thank you Sir! Very helpful.

umm, are you actually going to do anything that actually services the bike or are you going to play with the battery the whole 6 minutes??

please next time, stay a bit further away from the bike with the camera, so that I can use my binocular to see what you're doing.....

In comparison to other cruisers such as the Kawasaki Vulcan, how good is this bike when it comes to reliability?
