Ref; St Albans Unika. I inspected this when I was recently there. It has the older style of bellows rather than the later box pump. The serial number has been removed! This makes it difficult to date. I am told that Grymonprez used to do things like that when selling instruments - Vandal! The St Albans Unika is being very slowly restored, over 20 years so far. I understand it is now to be finished by a well known professional.
For Perleeman. You will find the date on a Weber instrument by looking at the serial number. On the Unika it is below the tracker bar. It will have four numbers. The first two give the year, ie 19xx. The last two give the number of the instrument made in that year including all instrument types. Weber rarely built more than 100 instruments in any one year. They were a small factory, but the best!
What a beautiful arrangement. I am a huge fan of all the orchestrions made by Gebr. Weber of Waldkirch. Hopefully our Weber Unika at St.Albans Organ Theatre is not far off completion now!
I'm not sure what kind of pump it has as I have not been personally involved with this instrument's restoration, it hasn't played a note since the 1980s! I reckon our Unika is from the mid 1920s but does not have moving picture scenery like yours does! I hope to find a bit more about it in due course.
Today,we are only a few who try to understand when an instrument is speaking! We take it as our duty to learn future generations.Congratulations my friend for Your superbe amasing instrument, each time, again and again!I thank You!Daniel

Hello, thanks for your comment. Which year is your Unika ? Do it have a rotary pump or a big traditional pump ?
