Haruka and Michiru were originally written to be lesbians, in the manga books and in the anime.

The Americans censored it to be suitable for American audiences (religious right wing), removing kiss scenes etc so they wouldn't be "offended."

Also people should watch Sailor Moon anyway, even if there are lesbains in it, why would they not?
