I dislike most TV as a general rule but how in the gorram hell does a single season and movie get so deep under my skin? The music, the script, the scenes, the characters, the plot...it seems cliche to heap more praise on its funeral pyre. It also seems cliche to send more verbal abuse Fox's way but both are indeed still necessary. Firefly/Serenity, I heart you. Fox, can my petri dish mold get a job with you, seeing as how you seem to enjoy hiring brainless objects as execs?
Love the dramatic character parade at the end, and the music played over it. How Jayne just gets that Big Damn Hero rising action, and Wash has that beautiful little interlude...
Firefly so badly needs to return and save us from the mindless rubbish of a reality TV show controlled hell. Firefly was such a fun programme with great characters, a lot of potential and a lot of humour and warmth to it.
This is the kind of programme we need, we need more sci-fi, not less. And with humour as well.

Canceling "Star Trek" was the most brilliant television decision ever made; by producing enough episodes for general syndication, the declared fan base grew by leaps and folds in the course of a single decade. What do we get? Thirteen of the greatest episodes ever put on Fox and one movie presumed to be targetted at fans...that was a lot of weird River in school exposition for new people and fans alike. We need 87 more episodes!

If there ever were to be any kind of continuation of this series it should start with exactly those words: "You can't take the sky from me". It already is sort of the fandom's motto. But as of now it looks like they actually took the sky from us. Oh well, it took star trek 18 years for a continuation with TNG so who's to say.

The fans are analogous to the Browncoats in the show fighting the unjust govermantal forced that aims to take away their liberty, likended to FOX for canceling Firefly before it had the chance to show the rest of this wonderfdul story.
After watching this last night, I rewatched all of Firefly, all of Serenity and all of the Serenity Collector's Edition bonus features. That's the only bad side to Firefly... you can see it all in a day...
You know what the really sad part is Firefly was cancelled because Fox thought that the american viewing public would'nt get the plot of the show because of its narration style.
So they basically thought we're idiots, oh well at least they green light shows like I hate my teenage daughter, because those kinda shows we really "need"....

This is not only a fantastic montage for one of the best shows and movies I've ever seen, its also one of (if not the best) montage I've ever seen. Kudos! Way to pay homage and respects to such a fine piece of work. Firefly was a show that deserved far far more than it was given. I often imagine a world where Firefly has 5 or more seasons... oh well. :/ Long live Firefly, and long live the Browncoats!
@Makrys07 Also, imagine a world where Firefly gets canceled after the pilot episode. Then we never get to know these characters and the other 13 stories that were told. Now imagine a world where Firefly doesn't get canceled at all, but goes on for 5 more seasons and they run out of plot lines, as the show fades off into mediocrity. Then we don't get the beautiful film which concludes everything and send the thing out with a bang. Through this perspective, think everything turned out perfectly.

I will always wish they made more episodes of Firefly. But in a way, I'm also glad they didn't. Some series are good for a while then just become tedious rehashes and money grabs. This way, Firefly will stay the amazing Sci-Fi we all love, and we can all hate the Fox executives together.

I think the phrase "You Cant Take the Sky from Me" means so much to me now that I revisited the crew of Serenity. Fox may have took the show away (sky), but they will never take it away from us fully. Because it is so huge (universe and fanbase) that it will forever live with us. Firefly is not owned one company. It is owned by an anyone who takes the time to watch the show and ride with the best rag tag team I have ever seen. I am part of the Serenity crew...are you?

@xXDJMoeJoeXx Atleast we got the best series possible and that they couldn't ruin it by making more just for ratings, instead of just making it because it had a decent idea behind and worked really well. Maybe they did us a favour (thought i think it had atleast 2-3 series in it, and the destroyed a great franchise prematurely) by ending it so we always remember the best of it, and only want more because it was so dam good. Its a funny story actually, When fox wanted this made, they asked for it to be filmed for people you didnt have wide screens. But the writer/director guy (forget his name) wanted it to be made for widescreen TV and filmed it for widescreen anyway! so alot of shit couldnt be seen on normal TVs so they took it off air. That might not be the enitre reason for why it was taken off air but it did play a large part in it. the writer/director guy refused to make it for normal TV's
@Spurlockml They cancelled it because ratings and viewership was poor. But they were poor because the networks treated all these shows like shit, as well as a few others I could name off the top of my head. No real reason why, TV stations just refuse to invest time and money into building up publicity and lending airtime to shows as unique and different as these. Anything with a unique element gets the axe outside of Syfy. Always.

The Fox twats naturaly blamed the dudes making firefly for it and canceled the show. Then they made a movie and Wash's death was the fial nail in the coffin. I will always wish they made more episodes of Firefly. But in a way, I'm also glad they didn't. Some series are good for a while then just become tedious rehashes and money grabs. This way, Firefly will stay the amazing Sci-Fi we all love, and we can all hate the Fox executives together.

Geez, not only is the music absolutely epic, but the storyline was interesting, as was the cast. I found it late, and then I was like "WHAT? Canceled it right after the first season? Bastards!" v.v; Haven't seen the movie yet. On my top to-watch list.

Fox the f*&$ing money grabbing bastards took it off because the money spent to money earned wasn't as good as the reality shit you see these days like big brother and jersey shore.
Firefly cost more to make a single episode than those junk reality waste of TV time shows did to make an entire season.
All you need is a bit of low quality drama, people making mountains out of mole hills and an audience that has little to no brain cells which is a good chunk of the population.
FF Season 2 come on!

@tommypk86 Really now, I heard it was because the channel hosting it wanted Joss to write the show a certain way and he refused to so they canceled it. Yet another sucky reason to kill it, I dunno why they'd dump something so popular like that, surely the amount spent buying the first season or single discs shoulda more than kept them afloat...afterall, I see hundreds of thousands of fans on youtube alone. =) <3

I think the phrase "You Cant Take the Sky from Me" means so much to me now that I revisited the crew of Serenity. Fox may have took the show away (sky), but they will never take it away from us fully. Because it is so huge (universe and fanbase) that it will forever live with us. Firefly is not owned one company. It is owned by an anyone who takes the time to watch the show and ride with the best rag tag team I have ever seen. I am part of the Serenity crew...are you?

@xXDJMoeJoeXx Atleast we got the best series possible and that they couldn't ruin it by making more just for ratings, instead of just making it because it had a decent idea behind and worked really well. Maybe they did us a favour (thought i think it had atleast 2-3 series in it, and the destroyed a great franchise prematurely) by ending it so we always remember the best of it, and only want more because it was so dam good. The episodes were brilliant, the best when firefly died and mal saved it

Its a funny story actually, When fox wanted this made, they asked for it to be filmed for people you didnt have wide screens. But the writer/director guy (forget his name) wanted it to be made for widescreen TV and filmed it for widescreen anyway! so alot of shit couldnt be seen on normal TVs so they took it off air. That might not be the enitre reason for why it was taken off air but it did play a large part in it. the writer/director guy refused to make it for normal TV's

@Spurlockml They cancelled it because ratings and viewership was poor. But they were poor because the networks treated all these shows like shit, as well as a few others I could name off the top of my head. No real reason why, TV stations just refuse to invest time and money into building up publicity and lending airtime to shows as unique and different as these. Anything with a unique element gets the axe outside of Syfy. Always.

@xXDJMoeJoeXx Others probably told you allready but basicaly Fox aired the episodes out of order so the people who watched it on TV were confused. The Fox twats naturaly blamed the dudes making firefly for it and canceled the show. Then they made a movie and Wash's death was the fial nail in the coffin. No more firefly unless the jerks at Fox decide to make another season and forget that the film existed. Done :D

@65CL Yes, Another of my favorites, snatched! I thought I was alone, Dark Angel, Space Above And Beyond and Firefly. I was so faithful but knew in the end I'd be, well, here without the best shows on the air.
