@namuchildtake2 The five Orca to have died this last year were 0 ,12, 21, 25 , 28. The display Industry tells the Public this is normal and is no reflection on their lives in a concrete tank. The violent killings of two Orca Trainers in the last 15 months by a SW related Orca should again raise concerns but the Parks simply brush aside such sentiments, the show must go on.
@Risimcky no! they ARE called killer whales 4 a reason, because they eat other small whales and dolphins and yes people 2. but some of these whales r domestic (which means calm and tame) because they were born in captivity, and the trainers r very careful with them.

@theicebabe Have you ever thought of that the cove people could be dishonest they hate seaworld - what is okay and i accept it - thats why they took the chance to destroy seaworlds image in the cove! its proven that not even one dolphin from japanese waters ended up at an US- Marine parc. Another thing is that sciences know that Orcas and dolphins do not now the feeling of freedom its just humanly and we're automaticly think that orcas do know that feeling but thats wrongare there still problms

I hate how there is so many attack videos and trainer dies videos and its so hard to fing just shows. like your taking a huge risk to get in the water with them and then the person gets killed and then they start getting pissed at the whale ? like wtf?
interesting fact,, they let the whales out of different sides because some of them jump better on one side. if they come out the right door, they're lefties, and vice versa. haha, i dont know why, but i just connected with the whales a little bit more (:
It is a very sad tragedy but these trainers are very aware that these creatures can respond dangerously whether they are meaning to just play rough or if they all of sudden feel threaten. They are very beautiful to watch but should they really be taken out of the ocean, their environment for our entertainment.. We learn & love to watch them but they never asked to be caged in a oversized swimming pool. My heart goes out to Dawn's family & friends, I know she loved these beautiful whales

they dont just keep them and make them do tricks. they pamper these animals. they do research on their behavior. the whale who killed that trainer has a history of agression. thats not true for all orcas. most orcas develop and attactment with their trainers
you are the first reasonable argument i've heard on this topic. i would be against it if they were hurting these animals. but they're not ! they're feeding, taking care of them in a safe environment, they give them a safe place to sleep and rest, first aid care, and a group of trainers that can befriend the whales are and earn their trust. many of the whales are ones that they've rescued from injury or death. many people don't see that ! whew, what a rant,
thank you. i mean some people see this as a circus. the circus treats theyre animals like crap. and beat the animals and deny them food until they do the tricks right. these whales are coaxed into doing tricks with food and good treatment. plus the animals are very smart they can be taught to jump without bein beaten and denied food.
@beturlifeonit the difference is that these animals are being kept in what is like a bath tub to us! and the life span is reduced significantly from 50+ years to 20+ years in captivity.

They should bloody hang this killer whale from the empire state building, how dare it kill its trainer, BULLSHIT!!!! The poor trainer probably brought it up since it was a baby, now it kills her. i would love to throw a hand grenade in the shape of a fish in its mouth. I saw this show yesterday in San Antonio, there wasn't any whale riding, possibly due to the fact one of the females just had a calf.
