  • @taiwanlong

Hey shut the fuck up. Appreciate beautiful music instead of bag on it. Beat the gymnopedie out of you

  • wat's da name of your Music Piano Book?

  • Comment removed

  • this is the fucking of version of gymnopedie fucker

  • @taiwanlong This isn't even a sentence, and what sense it makes is unpleasant. Downthumbs. D:

  • @falstocat and this is the worst mother fucker version of gymnopedie

  • Beautifull, bellissimo arrivo dritto al cuore...grazie.

  • Es klingt wunderschön! :)

  • @HelixProtocol I agree - I've been learning nr. 1 and, though it has taken several weeks, it is the highlight of my day.

  • where can i get the sheet music?

  • @MultiSpinners anywhere, just google it.

  • Very beautiful..makes me want to play again ;)

  • Overall well played, but i suggest putting more dynamics in the piece to make it even more intense ;)

  • Hello. Yes. Kryten spare head 7 speaking,

Is there a punk version of Satie anywhere?

    Yeah!

Air on a G String, too. Woo!

Crazy stuff, if given a punk treatment.

Gotta get my stuff out before I get replaced by spare heads 1 to 4.

    (Wrestle, wrestle).

Spare head 2 here. Sorry about that.

  • this is amazing, an instrument I would have loved to learn to play !!!

  • @VALERiiTO its never too late to try.

  • any other pianists like erik satie?

  • i live in canada eh! but i know enough german to say dass du hervorragend Klavier spielen kannst :)...

  • superb!

  • schön gespielt! :)

  • I like the light in your video, the shine from the piano, the background with a soon night or a very early morning , but in the end, it doesn't matters because, in every second is always the Satie essence. Very beautiful piece, and nice interpretation. regards!

  • You did a really good job. Very nice.

  • Haha, you have Czerny too :p

  • wow es una bella canción

  • beautiful song..

    xD

where i can get the Sheet..?

    thx..

  • Simply Beautiful!

  • I think I like the first movement better.

  • you have the best feel for this piece than the others here -

    others are

    a) too fast

    b) struck w much force

    c) not dynamic

    d) too dynamic

you are subtle and only need to memorize rather than read.

at least for me, i play best by memory - so interpretation can come freely without dependence and attention to reading.

does that make sense to you?

  • very nice. I was just playing it myself. Have to present this song next week. Now I now that I have to hold the F key on the right hand at the end.

  • Das is sehr schoene! Und das is alle de meine Deutche. Very pretty - come to Chicago and do this at the Cultural Center. I'll try to be there.

  • nice

  • though this is sad song...it really makes sad people feel better...

  • it is a sad melody capable to make happy anyone in a sad day

  • Great work...I used to play this too when I was 14.

  • Satie wrote it perfectly right.

Hard to play it as right ... this one is ever so close :)

  • Comment removed

  • this is really nice. like a grey snowy day or something of the sort. :)

  • @3CheersForMHSMellos

    HIP HIP HOORAY

    HIP HIP HOORAY

    HIP HIP HOORAY

Mellos are great! Although... I play baritone so yeah... I don't know about your school but at mine we kind of banded together to have a seven person section instead of a four and a three. :)

  • I pictured Nuclear Fallout and an eerie silence with this music playing on a record player in the background

  • I just got through with the 1st..should i move to 2 and 3 as well?

  • He knows how to make the piano cry

  • Satie's Gymnopedie is sad, it is hard to make your piano cry, but this young man is very good, he makes his piano cry...

  • so true;

he also manages to always make me cry

  • I used to listen to Satie in grad school when I was working out physics problems. This brings back good memories.

  • yeah, yeah. Me, too. Up until 3am listening to the classical music on the radio in the dead of winter. The little light above, and the whole world asleep except for me.

  • Well done.

  • I like the lighting.

  • Is it czeny there on the right ??? (sorry about the english, I'm brasilian)... I like it

  • yes it is

  • that was a compliment by the way

  • i clicked on the link and minimised the window.. i thought it was a pro recording.. before i checked the video

  • Just kidding, you're talented.

    Thank you for posting.

  • beautiful...thank you

  • ausgezeichnet

    gut gespielt

  • really, really beautiful... Und super gespielt - meine Hochachtung ;)

  • W.O.W

my (best) friend Rowena, played thid for me but muchmuchmuch faster and we remaned it Phoebes Luallabye:)

    as No.2 sounds a bit boring :)

but still its an amazing song....at the right speed1 :)

    x

  • Really lovely, keep up the good work!

  • Do you live in Berlin?

  • I am living in Mainz. The videos are recorded in Hamburg, my home town.

  • @ShevatheUkraine looks like the flat from goodbye lenen

  • I wish you were my neighbour.

  • All the three gymnopedies can be played one after the other as a unique piece, don't you agree?

  • I love the idea of this guy sitting at his piano playing beautiful music while the dark city goes on around him.

    Beautiful piece. Love Satie. :)

  • mmm i agree (:

  • I really love this piece.I've been playing it myself recently, but I just cant seem to get the feeling/mood of the piece. You do a good job of expressing the emotion in the song.

  • ugh i`m sorry but the noise in the background is bothering me so i had to turn it off so i don`t waste this precious song i`m gonna listen elsewhere

  • what noise? :p i can hardly hear anything else ^^

  • I guess there is a "buzzing" sound. I hear something like that, but its not to bad.

  • premiered in 1888 this series of brief piano pieces nade famous satie's name

  • Listen second gymnopedie played by Aldo Cicollini. He play Satie's way.

  • oh sweet czerny! hehe :-P

  • Haha, I spy with my little eye at Schirmer's edition of Czerny exercises.

  • there is a very anoying sound in the back ground to bad!!

  • oh yeah... sounds like a metronome.

  • no there's buzzing or something, and the clicking sound is him hitting the key, must be broken

  • The click is the pedal. I have fixed it and now it isn't there anymore.

  • can you tell me how to fix it i have this problem too

  • call a person that repares pianos XD

    Thats there job

  • The click I don't mind so much. That buzz is way annoying indeed.

  • sold & flesh

    no mind

  • nice execution, coul've been better, but a nice & beautiful try

  • beautiful!

  • This song is so lovely, and you played it beautifully.

  • Lovely! Bravo! TY.

  • IMPRESSIONISM IMPRESSIONISM!!!!

now everyone just needs to look at some van gogh

  • I'd say Satie is not exactly impressionism.

At least, not the way Debussy or Ravel are.

  • this sounds so much like gymnopedies .1

something about this song though just make your mind go blank of wirries

    lol

    good work

    =)

  • I'm there. :)

  • i disagree. any piece played with an effort and emotion is beautiful.

haha find it funny you consider this fast. the tempo is said to be in french "lent et triste" which lent=slowly, et=and, triste=sadly. i think he played it fittingly.

Muchas gracias.

  • quite beautiful

  • your playing is great, but i think you should try to move your arms and wrists a bit less

  • I know. It's an old recording. In my newer ones I don't move so much.

  • yeah, i think that you should move your arms and wrists a bit less.

    but it's very beautiful, congratz.

  • let me just say. youre amazing :) ive always wanted to learn satie's pieces

  • sensitive interpretation..there are always new shades of beauty when I hear this

     piece..makes me long for Paris.

  • i wonder what satie's performance of his pieces was like.

  • I have only just got into this classical music stuff, through a cd called Soft Sounds ofSatie, and fucking love all of it.

But hearing so many different intepretations i too wonder what HE was aiming for when he wrote them

  • lol the internet is proud of ure comment XD

  • lol its even prouder of "urs"

  • masterful use of the foot pedal amongst other things. my interest in these songs is a constant, but my enjoyment varies greatly with different interpretations and performances. This felt good to listen to.

  • how long have you been playing, because you are very talented. i play too, but am not very fluent yet. plus, great underlying pulse, love satie!

  • I am playing for 11 years, but actually only the last 5 years with that intensity.

  • your playing sounds like you have been a pianist for way more than 11 years, for that i say wow, and congrats. i also love your music choices, a lot of them are in my top rated playlists!

  • naturally high

  • you play beautifully

  • Awsome interpretation! Bravo...All the Best...

  • Très jolie et sublimement bien interprété.Bravo.

    Weiter so!

  • i love how you play. maybe whe can play together some day?

  • nice job

  • gemütlich...ich lib es. Wunderwall!!!

  • i like this..very nice..good job!!

  • if you 'remixed' gymno 1 and came up with this, hats off to you!

  • Haha!

This is the 2nd Gymnop man. There are three by Satie.

    lol

  • i'm sorry, but happen to not read those; it was late and i was just surfing to pass time. the first time hearing satie was from a remix Afterlife did called 'satie #1.'

really, you should learn to be just a tad bit kinder to misunderstandings, you know? i'm really not mad, though; life is too short to get worked up over people like yourself

  • Oh well. Its youtube. =/

  • i liked your other comment about "it is the kind of music that could almost make you fall asle...." lol

timand is an interesting name. ever read "timon of athens" by shakespeare? it rocks.

  • Nasty - very nasty.

  • ERIC ANDREW! Wash your mouth out with soap RIGHT NOW!

  • If you plays Satie, you are better person day after day. Congatulations, "Klangzauberer". And thanks for share a little part of your life. From Argentina! (Sorry, my english it's pretty bad I think...) Good luck!

  • Nice playing :)

  • Has anyone else seen the movie "Being There" with Peter Sellers? This song reminds of that movie... Probably because there is a similar tune in the video..

  • yes, the main melody of the movie is a covered version of a song by Erik Satie. it's quite lovely.

  • i like how you tube gets people to start working on music and art and expressing it to others..I think it is counterproductive to expect that you should only be an exceptional talent who goes to music school etc.. if you want to play music and have meaningful expression in your life..who knows maybe some peoplw will find they have talent they didnt know..and whats wrong with just having a lot of people working on and performing music...it will raise the general population up a couple notches..

  • I definitely agree with you.

  • I've always loved the piano, the sound of it. I started playing as a young child.

It warms my body, and engulfs the spirit.

You can feel the high notes pass through you soul, & the low notes embracing the song itself. I love it. Anoher favorite is Ava Marie.

  • Very beautiful. Nice work. I love this sound. So soothing.

  • just another dilettante...

  • can anyone send me the sheet music for no. 2 and 3? I have the 1 though... thanks!

  • I've been having a lot of fun accompanying you on my vibraphone. No teacher here when I practise so you have been very helpful for a new student! Thanks.

  • Congratulations, it sounds so nice and sweet. Satie must feel proud of you =)

  • There's a click in your piano ;)

  • I know. In my later recordings it doesn't appear anymore ;)

  • I have a click in my piano too, it's a electronic one:)

  • you should look for Debussy's orquestation of this peace...is really interesting to hear what Debussy heard when he listened to a piano

  • have the sheet of no 2

  • love satie.

  • anybody dave the sheetmusic for no.2? i have 1 & 3 if interested..

  • I love Satie...He is my favorite...You play it very well...

  • ive never heard gymnopedie nr. 2 before and it was fantastic to listen too.

    well done!

  • Tocante, profundo, arrebatador!

  • Echt schön! :)

  • i like this..very nice..good job!!

  • That clack makes me want

    to wind the cuckoo clock...

  • very nice!

  • poof wrist

  • I love erik satie. You play it very well

  • Good interpretation. There's just one small thing that bothers me: you tend to move your left wrist down when you play a chord. It makes it look less elegant imo

  • lol, in the right the czerny book lol, I heat czerny lol so boring

  • Czerny's etudes are the best way to improve your skills concerning fluence. Look at my version of the Invention nr8 by Johann Sebastian Bach.
