Go 'head! Bring back my youth! NOW, what'cha gonna do with it? Or, better yet, what am I gonna do?!??! THANK YOU! I have this music, of course, but how nice to stumble across it on here.
When asked whether or not he got all the royalties from the tracks he had recorded, Bobby said ' I wish I'd got a bit more from those songs back in the fifties and sixties, man - I was really hollerin' then'!
my favorite blues singer his songs make me cry but it is good i remember those close up slow da nces to his music I will be 70 years old next month but I can still dance and whatever else!!! ..maybe not as fast.....
B-O-B-B-Y. Go on and tear up the joint! I have loved Bobby"Blue" Bland's music since I can't remember. One old one that you seldom hear is "Today". Loved the band on that one when I was a kid. My 90 y.o. Pops has some cuts from the early fifties that I am just getting to hear. He and his 103 y.o. uncle can drop music on you that you've never heard before. I'm loving it watching them listening to this music. Always loved the blues, but I've developed a new appreciation for blues from them.
This is one killer song -- maybe my favorite by Bland. I love the bridge where he spells out his name. Intense! Bobby invented the phrase "I Pity the Fool" -- not "Mr. T."
Paititi us right..."I Smell Trouble" is one of the great, great blues performances of all time...that's dead on...wish someone would post that one on YouTube.
If joydan12 is refering to JT meaning Johnnie Taylor ...hey I'm a HUGE Johnnie Taylor fan too...can't go wrong with him
Bobby is an excellent singer but baby JT is the cat's meow and doncha forget it-However, I do respect everyones opinion and realize opinions are just like booty holes -everyone has one :))
What was just said about Bobby "Blue" Bland is absolutely true. His "I Smell Trouble" is also an unparalleled classic of the genre. Only the best Otis Rush vocals could equal Bobby "Blue" Bland's soulful blues.
The greatest blues singer OF ALL TIME.. did y'all hear me?...THE GREATEST BLUES SINGER OF ALL TIME...B.B. King is arguably the greatest BLUES ARTIST of all..but Blue Bland is the GREATEST BLUES SINGER
Compare this to the jive-ass upside the wall shit picking Hip Hop of today, there ..ain't no comparison. Bland will be played long long after hip hop dies and goes into obscurity. Ain't that the truth
it was on this song that Bobby perfected "the Squall" after a tonsillectomy robbed him of his upper register, and after hearing Rev. C.L. Franklin's sermon "The Eagle Stirreth the Nest"
In his prime, Bobby was much more original and creative and sophisticated than B. B.
But B. B. has lasted a long time.

Is it unhealthy to become happy of listening to blues?

If this could be re-mixed, it would surely be realized as the greatest soul/blues presentation of all times.

In my opinion, one of his greatest tracks.
When asked whether or not he got all the royalties from the tracks he had recorded, Bobby said ' I wish I'd got a bit more from those songs back in the fifties and sixties, man - I was really hollerin' then'!
You just can't get more hollerin' than this.

Yes, I agree: the greatest blues singer of all time. His songs are much more interesting and complex than those of B. B. King.
His "screams" are so musical and under control. He was the master.

what the fuck is hip hop? some kind of drug or something?
this stuff is classic, hip hop is the stuff you remix and dance to at clubs but the "good" hip hop artists are only "good" for a few years.
