Back in 2006 at a fund raising even the school did, all the seniors performed to Broadway musical numbers like Phantom of the Opera, Grease, South Pacific, etc...and a friend of mine performed this absolutely beautifully. And I'm a mean critic. It was gorgeous. I'll always remember it. Thank you for posting this to bring back those memories.

this song is beautiful. i want to learn this song ang sing it for the talent show but i'm afraid people will think it's too boring. i haven't heard this song since i was little. linda does such a fabulous job

@tigereyes1994 - I AM singing this song for an audition for a talent show. It's what my voice is suited to as I was trained in musicals. So if they don't like it - tough! The shorter version on stage also suits acappella, which is how I will have to sing it. Linda Eder has a great voice, but I think the original West End cast was better. They even had the poorer London folk speaking and singing with true cockney accents. Something I noticed they scrapped for the Broadway version.

I've never heard this version before, that's why I was surprised when I listen it. Actually, I though Linda Eder's voice is very different of what it is in the others version. Her voice is more sweet, that perhaps the reason this version is the best.
