Malcolm X was assassinated by the Nation because he split from them and was ready to stand behind MLK's drive for integration. The Nation are among the top suspects of MLK's assasination.

MLK wanted EQUALITY. He wanted racism to END. Not, as you suggest, to make white people the oppressed and blacks the oppressors.

I think what King stood for was amazing. He was a strong man and stood for an amazing thing. If we didn't have King, America may still be fighting a racist war. But he helped out a lot with his moving speech... But I don't think, King as a person, that he should be an American idol or role model. There are several things a lot of people don't know about him.
