@DonBeSick - It's very normal for a regular goalie to shoot right handed when they play out. You just have to adapt to shooting lefty while in net.

i believe that you hold the stick with the hand your not domanate with cause i mainly hold my stick with my left hand when skating and not my right but i am right handed

I'm right handed and my right hand is my glove hand; it makes playing the puck easier I think.

shouldnt your dominate hand be your catching hand coz catching pucks is more important

That's like asking if your dominant hand should catch in the baseball field.

I find that my right hand isn't coordinated enough to quickly and accurately move the stick around properly. You get better stick control with your dominant hand. Plus, if you naturally shoot right, catching right is a bonus to your shot.

umm I'm left handed but I got stuck doing it the regular way and now I am use to that. Should I switch over to the using my left for the stick hand or keep it the way I Have it.

I was conflicted cuz I thought playing with glove on my dominant hand (right) would be more efficient, therefore I would play full right. But it makes sense you want the blocker and stick on your dominant hand so you will have better control with the stick. Guess I will have to practice more on catching then I will be at 100%

i shoot right but when i play goalie i catch with my left... i guess ill have to learn how to shoot left hannded

@voldagar alot of goalies that are like you....like curtis joseph developed a way for shooting if you shoot and catch a different way

i shoot right handed as a foward but as a goalie i play left. and i right left handed but i cant throw a ball with my left arm and i cant catch with my left either, ima freak.
