  • very good video, now try it on a rhd manual....I know my running commentary would be banned after I did one!!

  • This takes me 3hours to do this, but im very happy that i did it by myself, thanks a lot !

  • nice step by step video. Some text could be clearer. Music choice?

  • hi i bought the item for 40$ i replaced and it dosnt work no air is coming out and i could feel the heat and the ac but no vent :S sorry about my english .. somebody i need help

  • Makes me happy to know that the video is very useful, thank you all !

  • One Question : What does this sensor do and why you need to replace it ?

  • A/C fan blower will not work or will be eratic when this part fails. Mine failed due to heat. I think standard labor charge on this at a service dealer would be ~ $ 175, plus ~ $ 125 for the part.

  • thank you . this video help alot and save my friend from burnning up in this TEXAS HEAT

  • guys in UK CARS this is situated underneath your steering WHEEL not in the passenger side

  • great video..thx.. I just finished replacing mine.. only bad part was taking off that top T20 screw to get to resistor..Other vid i watched the guy didn't pull out the plastic air intake thats in the way.. I pulled it out & made much easier to get to that resistor..

  • Awesome video...It just helped me yesterday. So I hope it stays up on youtube. Thank You,,,,Thank You...Thank You.

  • Hello! It took me 40 minutes... good job. it was a little tricky duh!

Why it is in there,,, who knows. but thanks to your posting I made it.

  • That seems like a lot of work just for the resistor! My mom's Plymouth Breeze was just 1 cover and 2 screws, and it took me only 20 minutes max to change out!

  • Sorry, i forgot to mention that you also need to remove the plastic cover that sits above the pedals( i should imagine that this would be the glovebox on LHD)

  • Awesome! and it only took me 2 hours! lol. i saved a ton of money, thanks!

  • what issues does a dud FSU course in my bmw 528i i turn the blower on and it is week and then turns off bout 5 mins later even tho the controls show it should still be running at full blast would this be the FSU?

  • Mała uwaga, u mnie jest T15, a nie T20 - mam BMW e46 320D touring kombi z 2002 r.

  • My daily driver is E46 328i and E30 325 weekends. 328i is more responsive with Signature Motoring performance (CAI) intake kit. Installed it myself in under half hour. HP increase on the E46 is about 13.5HP for a cost of $170 or around $17 per HP gain. Best 1st performance mod to do. Other application data:

    E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain

    E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain

    E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain

    E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain

    Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

  • makes me happy to know that the video is useful, thank you all !!

  • its easier to get to it from the drivers side... i wish i made a video but i just did this on my e46 m3

  • Hey would this be the same for a 1992 325i?

  • How did you remove the black air duct? The piece which is covering the component with the T20/T25 screw. I tried pulling but it does not come out and I dont want to risk breaking it.

  • 1:30-1:44, don't remove the duct, it's not necissary, and you will break it unless you remove the sunglass compartment and climate control unit to access the release tabs on the duct. Just bend the duct down to get it out of the way. Lastly, if you have a bad back, shoulder or are claustrophobic forget about doing this job; it will nail you to the wall. Good luck.

  • Thanks really helpfull saved me some money

  • I finally got it done. It took me some time but figured out..... Very nice video. I saved mucho dinero...

  • Thanks man...it took me about and 1 1/2hrs, but thats bc of my auto ineptitude..

    thanks again man

    FSU - $135 From dealer

T-20 Torx - $3.99 From Consumer Auto Parts

    Screw driver- Free

Not Paying BMW $130 and hr for a repair - F&^% priceless

    Cheers!

  • You are very welcome !!

  • do you know if is the bmw 325i 2002 location the same under the glowbox ?

  • @vsb666 This should apply to all E46 - 1999-2005 M3, 323i, 325xi, 328i, 300i, 330xi sedans/coupes/vert/wagons

  • Thanks a lot. This was extremly helpful. I dind't remove the floor heater duct as it was not necessary.

The end result: A blower that works when i want and stops when I turn off the engine :-)

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • You are very welcome !!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this installation video. It was pretty easy and the only thing I had trouble with was removing the air duct ( I had to wiggle it up and down) and also putting the screws back as you would need a magnetic head to hold the screw in place or else it will be hard to put the screws back. I had my neighbors watching me watch this video and at the same time I was following the instructions? They all like You Tube Now

  • Great video! I think u did a nice step by step.

  • You are welcome !!

  • Thanks for the vid except people need to know this is for a left hand drive e46, I followed instructions only to find out the fsu is on the other side, ended up taking about 2 hours for the whole job, off to see the chiropractor this morning. Job is not that hard just in an awkward place under the steering wheel for a right hand drive e46.

  • dats wat happened when i changed my cabin filter

  • @WillYuBlowMe

Nice. I realize you posted this 2 years ago but don't suppose you found a vid or tutorial for RHS drive ??

  • Thanks for the great video! This really helped to understand what needs to be removed which is especially important because it's really difficult to see. I didn't remove the floor heater duct because I wasn't sure how to re-install and was afraid that I might break it during removal and might not be able to get it back in again. Even so, the entire process took about an hour. Not bad consider the dealer wanted $400 and the part cost me $57! Recommend a magnet to place the screws. Thx again!

  • makes me happy to know that the video is useful, thank you all !!

  • thanks for posting this video, I replaced the resistor of my bmw in about 30 min and I save couple of hundred dollars

    Thanks

  • I have the same problem. The air conditioning blower. Are we talking about the same thing?

  • hey you probably have the same problem

like me. My AC keeps on when i turn off my car

do you know if you have to replace that little thing?

  • makes me happy to know that the video is useful, thank you all !!

  • Great !! Thank you !!
