My Ryobi Homelite strimmer has a ratchet wheel in the pull-cord starter that couples with metal pawls. Yep, that's right! And guess how long that lasted? Not long! I gave the cord a firm pull to start the bugger, and the pawls ripped right through the ratchet wheel! It's one hell of a job getting a spare, and the diagram shows a flat washer between the caged spring and the ratchet wheel that wasn't in mine! Anyway, it's working again, so be gentle with the pull-cord!
thtas got to be 2 stroke. i work with strimers and stuff all day. he mixed 2 stroke with it. just like i do at work. sounds 2 stroke. and the line is very long thats why it cuts nice. tip to anyone. buy honda tools. they are the best by far. i havnt got the luxery of honda though lol
Sthil? rellay PerParson? Sthils work like junk. My gardeners have one the spend like an hour starting it. I go out side when there done but the grass is so long still i have to use my binoculars to find dog poop. Ryobi is the best one pull start !boom!
that's becouse you can't start stihl..........ryobi give me a break.....you must be dumbass to say ryobi is better than stihl.....i woulnd say nothing if you compare husqvarna with stihl but ryobi....thats just one big cheap piece of crap
I stareted the Sthil I one second dumb one you should get a stupid little life Ryobi beats Sthil by a mile those things break in seconeds my gardens went through like 80 sthils becayse they keep on breakin If you were sayin about Sthil chainsaws I would shut my trap and agree .
@godzillaman235 The new Ryobi's suck big ass time. I've put 2 hours on mine and it has little compression left if anything and I've had to do countless repairs to it. I have 2 Stihl's and have not had one issue except for an oil seal after a lot of use.
The day I see a cheap chinese $200 Ryobi start in one on pull from a dead cold start are when pigs fly..will never happen. I know since I have a well maintained Ryobi...takes 5 pulls to start, My stihl fires in 1-3 pulls. I'm a Gardener for 17 years as well and I OWN 3 Stihls...and I hardly think a $400+ machine works like junk. Your gardeners probably never maintained them, and I'd fire them if they can't do a simple trimming job and cut once your lawn once a month
I like Huskavarna it will chop anything even a dimondback rattlesnake

i have no idea what you lot are on about. i've only ever used 2 stroke so i don't know the difference in using a 4 stroke.

@Jon3800 i know a pig that can fly. it fell off a roof. lol

@godzillaman235
It was just a saying which I probably shouldn't have been used. However STIHL makes far superior products than Ryobi... I have videos to prove it
