Busy Bee Dogs - Hoop Dog Dance

I loved your video! Great moves and musicality. I've been thinking about putting together a hoop routine with my dogs for a while, they love jumping thru the hoop, they get a bit nervous when I start hula hooping though. They also love spins.

@swmelanie Thanks, there area lot of unexplored moves with the hoop and dogs - go for it! They will get used to the hoop spinning around if they have drive and if they get rewarded a lot :) Good luck - can't wait to see a video from you some day.

But i'm sure my non-compliant cat will just stare at it :-))), probably he will jump through it each time immediately after I left the house, hihi

@corinna59 It only took me 2 months to learn those moves (I couldn't hoop at all before, not even as a kid) but I was dilligent about it. It's great for rainy days in the house - you are focusing so badly on not letting it fall that you don't realize it until you are out of breath 15 mins later - its a great low impact work out :) Kitties are smarter than we think :) Good luck and have a great time hooping! I love my kitty very much (since more than 16 years) and he _is_ very smart.

But while dogs love to do us a favor and practise with us he loves to lie on my chest and purr :-) And his smartness shows in having trained me and still letting me believe I was the boss ;-)

Your Hoop Dog Dance video has been added a year ago, are you still hooping as frequently as in the beginning?

Love when you both jump thru the hoop around 3:22! The whole hoop act is awesome, takes a lot of strength. You'd look great in a belly dance billowy costume for this.

Diva is a red and white, 5 year old, Border Collie mix? maybe a mix, from the Mendocino County Animal Control in Ykiah, CA. She is crazy hyper all the time and would drive move people crazy but I lover her enthusiasm and energy.

Oh my God, that is justy incredible! Doing dog dancing well is hard enough but to add the hoop dancing in as well!!! SO impressed! I just tried out hoop dancing at a workshop a few weeks ago so know how hard it is - you make it look so effortless and graceful! Just don't know how you manage the hoop and cue the dog so well! :-)

I could use more speed, flare and different transitions in the hoop part but that's ok there's time to work on it - not bad for 6 months of intermittant hooping! I am way more confident with Diva and it shows. I love dogs - they give me confidence :)
