  • chill out guys :) Jon, little tip for your next videos, try to put the light from upside, if you use your flashlight directly to the plastic walls of your enclosure, it's really hard to spot anything inside it, reflection is blurring everything. Great vids, but you have put little more effort to improve their quality in the future. You have my respect ! :)

  • my videos after april are better quality

  • no, I had not followed your videos.

in my opinion it would be possible to put a better video name/description like 'Tapinauchenius Gigas (Orange Tree Spider) Molt documentary' for example.

I'm sorry for my vulgar words at the beginning. they don't fit here.

  • I had some time to look at your channel and you really shouldn't be complaining about vid descriptions because there was one video where I saw had no video description. You would have to follow my videos. I cannot spend a lot of time changing the video description on my 400+ videos.

    Apology accepted

  • in one video. because the topic already says everything. you don't see more in the video than the take off.

  • ok fine man, I don't want to argue with you any more. If you don't like my videos, please do not watch them.

  • yeah, but your videodescription could be more exaktly, that's what I'm talking about.

some other youtube-users don't give you any comments, they give you bad ratings and that's what could happen when the videodescription is not good enough.

  • You don't seem to be following my videos. The description IS accurate. Look at my videos just shortly before this one was made, I had 4 other spiders that molted in one week, which is rare.

Bad ratings on a video description? Its content of the video that gives you the rating not by the description. I have seen vague descriptions like "watch and see" and still get higher ratings.

I don't know about you, but I get comments every single day for my videos.

  • listen guy, when I want to see spiders molting at youtube I enter spider molting. that's what I entered into the search-box above. so maybe you can tell me what's wrong with this video? I only see somebody talking from beginning till end. that's what I tipped into the search-box, although the topic is Tapinauchenius Gigas (Orange Tree Spider) Molt and description My 5th T to molt in 1 week...AWESOME. you got that? I got nothing to do with your education here. it's not my business.

  • then if you don't want to be educated, then you have no business telling me how to run my channel. I don't go on your channel and comment on some video that I don't like

You'd probably want to know how to get your spider to molt correctly, because they can die if you don't. And why are badgering me on this particular video, when there's a bunch of others flowing around youtube

  • don't like it, don't watch the video. You got some nerve telling me to shut the fuck up when im trying to educate people on tarantulas. Enjoy your mercedes

  • Whoa,

    ok thankss,

Uhmm do you have any T's for sale?

And if soo give me a list?

info of the salmon bird eater?

  • I've got no Ts for sale, and if I did, I can only sell them to Canada only, since I don't own a fish and wildlife permit to send them across the border.

I do have caresheets on LPs. They get 10 inches big, keep like G.rosea, they can be slightly fast as juvies and they're semi-aggressive

  • Hey Jon,

I was looking at theorange tree spider for my collection, but i wanted to ask some Qs.

!. how fast are they really? can you possibly make a video?

    2. how much are they usualy?

Also the same of the Trinidad Olive??

    Please write back,

Also what are some pretty cheap t's??

  • 1) T.gigas get up to having a 5 inch legspan which makes it the largest of the genus. The temperament of these guys are shy but super aggressive. They are faster than pokies and closely match the speed of the featherleg baboon in my opinion.

    2) Slings about 1/2 inch -1 inch should be $40.

Trinidad Olives are about as fast and defensive as a suntiger. They're a dwarf species having leg span of 3 inches. They usually go for $15-25 for 1/2 inchers.

It really depends, prices vary for other Ts

  • I would say some of the pinktoes like A.avicularia, slings of P.regalis, adults specimens of G.rosea and A.seemanni and adults of B.albopilosum.

  • hey Jon, I have a Curly hair and a OBT and both have been off food for around a month or so, I did notice an infestation of tiny crickets in both vivariums last week and a slight bald patch on my curly hairs abdomen, so I changed the substrate in both vivs, they currently have two crickets in each tank but dont seem to be wanting to eat them, so Im going to take them out, any ideas??

  • well...both species tend to be great eaters.

Both could be possibly in premolt. Since your curly has a bald spot, is color of the patch like bluish-black?

The OBT could also possibly be in pre-molt. Since they can't flick hairs you should be looking for intense discoloration, like really drab colors. also look for hiding. Most Ts in premolt tend to hide alot.

For the crickets, leave them for an extra day, if they refuse to be eaten, remove them

  • Yeah your right, both of them are aggresive eaters usually, as for the curlys bald patch, it was originally light and over the last week has turned bluish-black, shes nearly mature and molted last April

As for the OBT well he is a juve and he molted about 2 months ago, and Ive never seen a T eat like him, he usually eats anything straight away his colouration seems ok (still vibrant orange) I was just wondering if the changing of substrates may have put them off eating?

    Regards Chris

  • it really shouldn't

  • hey jon what are some old world species good for intermediate beginers

  • Pternilochilus lugardi - forthall baboon.

Typically not that aggressive, but very fast

  • ok ill try to get one after my salmon pink bird eater . oh and jon you are very helpfull to me and probly other beginers

  • anytime buddy

  • highly dependent on the species. Old world tends to grow up faster than new world terrestrials

  • yeah its good, same exact kind rob c uses, and i know he only gives his Ts the best! but i have both!!

  • oaky

  • awesome man!! cant wait for another feeding video!! thos are my favorite man! hey is spagnumm and forest moss good in your opinion,i bought some because rob c and some others said it holds the humidty very well, and im getting my metallica VERY SOON :)

  • I'd use spahgnum moss more. If you're using forest mossm make sure its really clean and pesticide free

  • cool! give up an update on that t. gigas in a week after it satarts eating and has hardened.:)

  • will do :)

  • really lucky I'm making some today

  • sweet man!which T vids are next?and how big is ur P.metallica?and at about what size do they start to get their color?

  • im gonna be posting a nighttime video, P.cambridgei video and hopefully a T feeding video.

My fat P.metallica is good 3 inches at the moment.

Start gettng their color at 1.5 inch mark. The problem is that metallicas are more brownish blue, you have to shine light on them if you want to bring the true blue color. Problem with this are they are ultra-light sensitive, which they hate light and will run away from it.

  • that's my only video for today

  • thanks :)

  • nice man

  • Thanks man :)
