  • That first cube looks really cool, is it gold colored?

  • After about 200 intuitive f2l solves, my time is about 1 minute 30 seconds. Using the beginner method about 50- 1 minute 10 seconds

  • plurple73's method helped me along with this

  • ive been trying to learn this method on - off for years but cant do it :(

  • Thank you for not flying through the steps, best video on Fridrich method yet!

  • sounds so much like criss angel

  • sry. but this doesnt explain ANYTHING.

  • @pivoterkiller cause you have to figure it out your self

  • @insane569 Yep. i actually got the second layer with this way and i can do it... but its waaay slower so far. i just have to still think about it alot.

  • @pivoterkillerwatch badmephisto's f2l video thats where i learned it from

    i avg. 23 secs

  • I'd really like to know what kind of cube this is. Is it C4U, or type C or D? It's refreshing to see an old video, where someone isn't using a Gu Hong.

  • @xxoxia This is actually a very old cube. It's a Type-C that I got from Cube4You ages ago.

  • is there a beginner's f2l tutorial? PLZ ANSWER

P.S. I know lbl really well so I think I am ready to move on

  • first time i solved f2l i got a time of 1:14 , i thought pretty good for first time

  • @Giveaways4Runescape Yeah, actually that's really good! Keep up the good work :)

  • Thankyou! :D...I understand fridrich now but I'm kinda slow at matching them up...but I know It'll eventually be alot faster than the original layer by layer method :D

  • i wanna watch the tutorial but theres a stupid dounught add and its distracting

  • w..t..f dus this vid even mean?

  • haha, the Mario sound effect at 8:13 came right on cue.

  • I don't think this is hard. I used this method b4 i discovered this video. LOL, I discovered myself

  • wow ....this the best fridrich tutorial in youtube, thanks very much

  • Guys, calm down. This is not a simple method to do, much less explain to people without actually talking to them. You should not jump into this if you're not experiences. Yes the Dan Brown method is simple because its a method for when you first learn it. This is a more advanced method you do when you actually want to solve the cube fast. It takes a lot of practice so stop complaining.

  • For all the people hating on you or disliking this video, they are just ignorant quitters.

They will all fail at life.

  • 3:03 is the start of the video...

  • Where did you learn to do the Fridrich method? What video to you recommend the most? I am having a ton of trouble with every single video. I can do Brown's method and that's it. I want to get faster, I take around 50-60 seconds.

  • Thanks a lot!

I actually love your explanations, they force you to visualize how the cube works instead of memorizing algorithms. Thanks to this I on my way to Intuitive Fridrich

45 secs after my first week on it.

  • my guess is you should just show the algorythms... your explanation is way too advanced for people trying to learn F2L... which i know

  • best fridrich tutorial in youtube...but only ater 3 minutes..before it was boring as well as useless

  • fuck this vid

  • fuckk!! can't you tell us all the different cases , then tell us what to do?? like seriously!! not just go randomly. couldn't you say, if you have this, do this. if you have this, do this. because this is too confusing!

  • Hey dude nice video check out my video of me solving it in 22 seconds.

  • you have to be able to solve in under a minute to fully understand

  • so slow... if people know wat the method is then they can proably alredy do a rubiks cube

  • not helping

  • good tutorial but dude cut your nails... they kept distracting me lol

  • Dude... He's a vampire

  • total of 41 f2l cases

  • hmm, is it just the camera file or is your cube a little rectangular O.o

  • It's because of Youtube's widescreen change

  • Same here ?_?

  • what kind of cubes are those?

  • I've never been good at listening to people explain things, that's why i hated school soo much..It's so much easier for me to learn by muting and just watching it.. I've been cubing since august of 07 but learned how to do it myself at first..Then i learned all the basic algorithm's..Maybe its just me who knows..

  • is there someone playing mario xP

just heard him moving through a pipe lol!

    nice tricks btw

  • lol u really like disassembling your cube..

  • hes giving a visual example.

  • i just started cubing a couple weeks ago and that was the 1st time i learned and my average time is like 1:10

but this explanation is veryyy confusing....i dont understand any of it..

  • i feel the same way

  • same i dont understnad anything!

  • thanx mate:) love your orange cube!!! off to practice before i see part II of the tutorial.

  • The first part got me so cunfused but after the first 5 minutes of it I started to figure it out and now this will hopfully decrease my time from 1:07 to somthing like 30-40 seconds

  • i use 2 look cfop(Jessica Fridrich) method and i average around 45 secs so lots of practice and you can i have been solving the cube for a year now so lots of practice lol :)

  • thx for tutorial

  • im finnaly getting mabey some practise and copule more views and ill get it thx

    m8!

  • lol 5:54 restoric

  • Erm...I didn't really get it...

Is this faster than the layer method or not?? ...Or is it the same as the layer method??

  • it's a horrible explination. if you are a beginner you cant use this method. you need very much training before it gets faster than the beginners method.

  • my record is 1:30.81....is that still concidered a beginer? what method should i learn next. i know the normal layered method (cross, corners, edges, cross, edges)

  • you should get your time to around minute before trying the fridrich method

  • @SippO10 I see that cause I can do fridrich now but I'm not faster than beginners method yet lol

  • this is what the world record holderdoes

  • its faster trust me but in order to really use it you HAVE to know how to solve the cube first for a few years THEN use F2L

  • i wouldn't say a few years ive been cubing since just after christmas and i use this method

  • ive been using this method for a while now, i average 30 seconds and i started cubing in august of 08

  • I've been cubing for 3 weeks and I have got 53secs so I'm learning this method

  • Okay can u just message/reply me what the algorithms are for each situation? I'm better at memorizing algorithm:situation :)

  • wow dude ur jsut telling them to memorize situations i could explain this method way better than u. gosh dude

  • than do it

  • can someone please help me out

have been learning the fridrich method and by the time i got to pll i was looking at the algorithms and they would say stuff like

(this isn't a real algorithm, just an example)

    R L' U' B2 y' L2 x'

what do the x's and y's mean???

    someone please help me

  • they're called 'cube rotations' for example and x turn is rotating the whole cube like an R turn. y is like a U turn, and z is like an F turn. get it?

  • Maibe he gets it, but I don't.

  • what type of cube do you use?

  • yeah... its not just those 2 positions at the start... im in a different one after making the cross :S

  • I don't understand it.

  • you wasted so much time at the start why would you look up the advanced f2l method if you didnt know what the first 2 layers were?

  • That was a great video. I roughly get what it means. But can you make it a little bit more simpler? pls. Thanks

  • It can't get any simpler...

  • THANK YOU.

  • what is that cube called

  • rubik's :)

  • This is very well explained! Thanks!

  • how do i complete the last 2 cubes without messing up what i've completed so far (if the corner is not the right way)

  • How do I pair an edge with a corner if it isn't already lined up like how you start the video?

  • You, you, you, broke the the CUBE! XD

    Nah thanks for this video.

  • ugh my head hurts

  • F2L (41) + OLL (57) + PLL (21) = 119 wtf? The average number of turns per move is about 9 so 9 x 119 = 9639 turns! And you don't only have to memorize the turns but also how all 119 situations look like and how to face the cube for that specific situation!

    * If you can successfully memorize all 119 moves you can drop your avg solve to 20 seconds.

    * I only know 17 plls and 6 olls and my avg solve time = 38secs...

  • Dan Brown teaches the basics on how to solve a rubiks cube...this is obviously a faster method...I still can't do any algorithms lol.

  • Dan Brown does not teach this method. This is MUCH harder than anything Brown ever tries to explain.

This is a very hard method. Obviously you don't understand what this method is.

  • uhh, duh.

I know that he doesn't teach this method.

    and, duhh

    I think this is hard.

  • CFOP (this method) is a step up from the beginner method. Yu Nakajima got 11.28 second average at the Kashiwa open using a similar if not the same method. Most of the top averages (about 11 1/2 sec.) were achieved with CFOP and others like it.

  • this method is suppost to be hard cause its the advanced method

  • @haleyjade23 dan brown is for noobs. this is the hard and fster way.

  • @haleyjade23 noob :P

  • @haleyjade23 I don't think this is hard. I've been using this method b4 I saw this video

  • best best best tips after 100 vids ty i understand so much better TY

  • so help ful ty

  • i just dont get it

  • hey which is the fastest method for rubik solving? there is this method called fl2 and another called ZB too. which one is the fastest?

  • ZB requires the memorization of literally thousands of algorithms and F2L only requires around 70-80 algorithms. Tecnically ZB is faster but most people don't have the initiative to learn all of those algs. If I were you I would stick to F2L and perhaps move onto ZB later.

  • litellary thousands of algorithms? wow that seems a lot lol. maybe i'll move on that later. i only really know 10 algorithms right now with the dan brown methos, i hope 70-80 aren't too much.

  • I know All PLL and all OLL. It took like 6 months (I am not very dedicated :) ). It's not a lot it's pretty easy.

  • yea that Yu Nakaji guy can solve in litteraly freakin 6 seconds (average around 9 or 10) and i think he memorized all those algorithms hes freakin crazy

  • thia really helped me do it faster my new time is 17 seconds check it out

  • whats f2l?

  • first 2 layers

  • its an algorithm

  • no... its first two layers

  • pmblacdoo ...learn 2 look oll and 1 look pll, just need to memorize 7 algo for oll and 21 algos for pll, but if want improve oll part can learn 15 cases (all dot and cross cases)..better than learning all 57 oll cases..

  • lol. I was already doing the f2l intuitively (because i totally hate memorizing algos) before i saw this vid. i was hoping for an intuitive LL solve. well, im doing a 4-look ll solve.. i guess i have to start memorizing the fridrich OLL PLL.. or maybe the CLL ELL.. lol.. anywayz, nice vid.

  • Try memorizing 2 Look, i learned it in 2 days time. It's easy!

  • Cookies

  • super mario1

  • The Yellow and white on his cube are switched.

  • So far the first 3min of this video are useless. His other video was better

  • i still don't get it. is there a video with a better explanation?

  • thank you very much. You make it clearer to me

  • 8.15 mario xD

  • thanks for the aids. lol.

  • Thanks! Very helpful!

  • confusing!

  • "This video has been added to your favorites."

    guess yourself XD

  • nice tutorial!

  • Here's the deal. All the other Fridrich method videos I've watched have sucked. This is the first one that has made sense and now I can do it. So there ya go. Good work my man.

  • I agree. A lot of F2L tutorials here on YouTube blow chunks. This one is where I finally got it.

  • It's a good one BUT erik akkersdijk's one is much better explained...

  • good god it's so confusing.. i can solve this thing in like a minute and 15 seconds but.... why is this so confusing to me...

  • this shit is so confusing

  • I can solve the cube in about a minute, and my friends siad i can shave alot of time with fridrich, but i dont get it T-T help!

  • =D that helped me out with Fridrich alot!!

    Thankyou!

  • use olls and plls

  • how to solve the last layer plsss!!!

    tell me..!!!

  • Like royboy348 said, or search for a beginners solution. Thrawst is a good teacher.

  • Can you please make a video for the last layer. That seems to take me ages as I dont know any quick ways to do it.

    Thanks

  • That depends on if you want to learn beginners or OLL plus PLL. If you already know how to solve a cube, look for OLL. Once you learn that, learn PLL. F2L + OLL + PLL decreases your time significantly.

  • got all the 3 corners/edge ok, but when puting the 4th set, it will destroy 1.????

  • When you lift up either the right or left side, make sure that when you lift it up, the piece that ends up being on the very top is not the same color as the other two-layer inserts. I know that may sound confusing, but just lift the sides until a side has a corner that doesn't have-say if you're using a white base-than it doesn't have white. It takes me longer to do F2L than layer-by layer because I've been doing the layer method longer but F2L is faster once you get the hang of it.

  • Lol it took me 7:31:62 to solve with Fridrich my first time. That's Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds.

  • I gets better with practice.

  • thats an awfully nice cube

  • I think your brother made a video because he was talking about that same website. Yeah, he was terrible.

  • This was amazingly helpful! I struggled with F2L for a week and gave up on it till I came across this and it just clicked. You have no idea how much youve helped me! Thanks mate :D

    5/5

  • I'm glad I could have helped!

  • I don't really get how to set them up to put them into the slot

  • I don't either.

  • Its all about seeing in it your head before you kill the cube. Play around with it and just use the simple cases he shows us as guidelies to make the cube easier to solve it more naturally. Took me 10 min for a situation once but now I can solve it in seconds because I took the time to learn how to fix it ^_^

  • Does it really shave time of using a full fridrich's?

  • Nevermind, I wasn't really noticing the name...

  • yeah

  • thank you for a very comprehensive video!

  • I wanted to know how to solve the croos fast... And you just left that part over.

  • Go to my channel. I have 29 different videos that explain almost every aspect of speedcubing imaginable. I specifically have a video dedicated to just the cross. It is very in depth. It's called "How to do the cross on the bottom - Rubik's Cube"

  • Thank you so so much i really wanted to learn the F2L method and it just clicked thanks for making this vid and oh yeah what kind of cube is that

  • cube4you(.)com

  • the cube u use is called cube4you(.)com?? i thought thats were u buy em..

  • pretty good vid thanks

  • nice job

  • omfg first comment no one gives a sht
