@insane569 Yep. i actually got the second layer with this way and i can do it... but its waaay slower so far. i just have to still think about it alot.
I'd really like to know what kind of cube this is. Is it C4U, or type C or D? It's refreshing to see an old video, where someone isn't using a Gu Hong.
Thankyou! :D...I understand fridrich now but I'm kinda slow at matching them up...but I know It'll eventually be alot faster than the original layer by layer method :D
Guys, calm down. This is not a simple method to do, much less explain to people without actually talking to them. You should not jump into this if you're not experiences. Yes the Dan Brown method is simple because its a method for when you first learn it. This is a more advanced method you do when you actually want to solve the cube fast. It takes a lot of practice so stop complaining.
Where did you learn to do the Fridrich method? What video to you recommend the most? I am having a ton of trouble with every single video. I can do Brown's method and that's it. I want to get faster, I take around 50-60 seconds.
I actually love your explanations, they force you to visualize how the cube works instead of memorizing algorithms. Thanks to this I on my way to Intuitive Fridrich
fuckk!! can't you tell us all the different cases , then tell us what to do?? like seriously!! not just go randomly. couldn't you say, if you have this, do this. if you have this, do this. because this is too confusing!
I've never been good at listening to people explain things, that's why i hated school soo much..It's so much easier for me to learn by muting and just watching it.. I've been cubing since august of 07 but learned how to do it myself at first..Then i learned all the basic algorithm's..Maybe its just me who knows..
The first part got me so cunfused but after the first 5 minutes of it I started to figure it out and now this will hopfully decrease my time from 1:07 to somthing like 30-40 seconds
i use 2 look cfop(Jessica Fridrich) method and i average around 45 secs so lots of practice and you can i have been solving the cube for a year now so lots of practice lol :)
it's a horrible explination. if you are a beginner you cant use this method. you need very much training before it gets faster than the beginners method.
my record is 1:30.81....is that still concidered a beginer? what method should i learn next. i know the normal layered method (cross, corners, edges, cross, edges)
they're called 'cube rotations' for example and x turn is rotating the whole cube like an R turn. y is like a U turn, and z is like an F turn. get it?
F2L (41) + OLL (57) + PLL (21) = 119 wtf? The average number of turns per move is about 9 so 9 x 119 = 9639 turns! And you don't only have to memorize the turns but also how all 119 situations look like and how to face the cube for that specific situation!
* If you can successfully memorize all 119 moves you can drop your avg solve to 20 seconds.
* I only know 17 plls and 6 olls and my avg solve time = 38secs...
CFOP (this method) is a step up from the beginner method. Yu Nakajima got 11.28 second average at the Kashiwa open using a similar if not the same method. Most of the top averages (about 11 1/2 sec.) were achieved with CFOP and others like it.
ZB requires the memorization of literally thousands of algorithms and F2L only requires around 70-80 algorithms. Tecnically ZB is faster but most people don't have the initiative to learn all of those algs. If I were you I would stick to F2L and perhaps move onto ZB later.
litellary thousands of algorithms? wow that seems a lot lol. maybe i'll move on that later. i only really know 10 algorithms right now with the dan brown methos, i hope 70-80 aren't too much.
yea that Yu Nakaji guy can solve in litteraly freakin 6 seconds (average around 9 or 10) and i think he memorized all those algorithms hes freakin crazy
pmblacdoo ...learn 2 look oll and 1 look pll, just need to memorize 7 algo for oll and 21 algos for pll, but if want improve oll part can learn 15 cases (all dot and cross cases)..better than learning all 57 oll cases..
lol. I was already doing the f2l intuitively (because i totally hate memorizing algos) before i saw this vid. i was hoping for an intuitive LL solve. well, im doing a 4-look ll solve.. i guess i have to start memorizing the fridrich OLL PLL.. or maybe the CLL ELL.. lol.. anywayz, nice vid.
Here's the deal. All the other Fridrich method videos I've watched have sucked. This is the first one that has made sense and now I can do it. So there ya go. Good work my man.
That depends on if you want to learn beginners or OLL plus PLL. If you already know how to solve a cube, look for OLL. Once you learn that, learn PLL. F2L + OLL + PLL decreases your time significantly.
When you lift up either the right or left side, make sure that when you lift it up, the piece that ends up being on the very top is not the same color as the other two-layer inserts. I know that may sound confusing, but just lift the sides until a side has a corner that doesn't have-say if you're using a white base-than it doesn't have white. It takes me longer to do F2L than layer-by layer because I've been doing the layer method longer but F2L is faster once you get the hang of it.
This was amazingly helpful! I struggled with F2L for a week and gave up on it till I came across this and it just clicked. You have no idea how much youve helped me! Thanks mate :D
