your cats are very cute. I think that one right there is utilizing its "Jacobson's organ" I think that's what they use if they want to smell something really really hard, then they open their mouth cuz that organ is located somewhere in there. BUt, then, your cat was panting too towards the end. So cute. One of my cats open their mouth too like that. SO cute
I've had cats do this in the car... I always suspected it was because they were nauseous from the drive. But it seems like this cat is more reacting to being hyper... Maybe it's her idea of chattering at the toy. :P
my cats pant when we drive to the vets,and my little cat opens her mouth like that when she sees a bug on the wall.Its fairly normal.Cats are really wierd though..I have three so...I know.
yeah cats are weird. i guess out of like the 7 or so cats ive had in my life none of them ever do this. i dunno maybe some breeds are more likely to do it too.
hey,can I ask you something... any of the cats you had did they ever deny your love..youve raised them to be loving and you cuddled w/ them when they were kittens,but when they grew up they dont want to lay on ur lap or chest?Well my cats all show their love in "their own ways",but my mom is upset that her fav cat doest come 2 her.But we do have this spotty cat that is a cuddle whore,lol.
all my cats are shelter cats. the youngest one we got when she was one. they all have their different personalities. there is only one that really likes to be held and the other ones kinda have to be in the right mood for it.

ive seen my cat pant once when i played with her for 2 hours straight on a really hot summer day but shes kinda fat so i makes sense to me
