Man me and you really need to get together because I love linux but I like the compatability of windows I want to be just fully linux ubuntu... ubuntu brings power choice and freedom
@Jakejw93 ahhahah just kidding. Look at 2:52 you called your localhost Jakeward so i guessed it was ward :P By the way good job on running crysis did you use package manager for wine or did you compile to sc yourself?
can you resume the game after quitting? whenever i do it, it doesn't load. i have to start all over. i installed crysis 2 using playonlinux. my graphics card is ati radeon 6950
@TweFoji That is a myth BTW, radeon does work well with linux, better than nvidia fermi infact, but just not when using wine. anyways, i was having this problem in windows aswell, but i managed to find a patched binary now it all works. Anyhoo, i think its cuz i was running a pirated version of crysis 2 (just to try it out, don't wanna waste my money on shit games). Anyways, the game plays on 60fps on gamer settings without dx11 on my card now.

@Jakejw93 aw man! i was thinking of saving windows for a better processor and wait for windows 8 next year but that sucks, they should really add support for linux or something as its a widely used os
@Jakejw93 And in some games (ie. Max Payne) I've noticed it plays better under WINE than in Windows. I'm guessing due to the lower resource consumption on slower computers.
Could've sworn RecordMyDesktop can record smoother vids than that... still, it looks like an epic game! And great smoothness and quality in the vid! (from GLC xP)
Yeah, glc is the job for capturing high quality graphics, the difference between recordmydesktop is huge. It looks like the glc project has been abandoned though, maybe someone else will pick it up. So Wine now supports Crysis? I hope they can get Just Cause 2 to work sometime soon.
@draoi99 Even if it has been abandoned it works great for me, the difference is insane! The same graphics and it runs so laggy with recordmydesktop as shown!

Does running with Wine make it slower than running on Windows?
Cubalisk 6 months ago
@Cubalisk This is the case with most games (running a bit slower) but in some games you don't really notice

@testingte Hell no!!! recordmydesktop is really bad for recording games! Kazam isn't too bad but GLC is brilliant!

@Jakejw93 FFmpeg with x11grab will also work well, I got it to record 60 fps in one recording ;P
